Post Super Bowl Depression

The time has come and gone, another fantastic NFL season is over with. Now comes the time when sports fans wonder, what do i do now? It's called Post Super Bowl Depression and it affects a lot of fans. But, I, J Call, will help you get over this syndrome. First of all, you can wait for Nascar to start, because that means that spring is almost here. I dont recommend that. I dont care for Nascar, although there is a cult following for Nascar, there is also a cult following for reality shows, if that tells you anything.
I would say, the best and most logical thing to do is tune in and watch some high quality basketball. Each and every night, there are great college and NBA basketball games on television. For example, this past week has been one of the greatest weeks in the NBA in a long time. It started with another incredible performance by Kobe Bryant on Monday night in The Garden. He scored 61 points, a new Madison Square Garden record, against the Knicks. Lebron James rolled into MSG on Wednesday and was not going to be outdone by Bryant. LBJ recorded a triple double with 52 points 10 rebounds and 11 assists. Although it was later taken away, after the NBA ruled that one of Lebron's rebounds was not his, he still put on helluva show.
Thursday night featured a rematch of last years NBA finals. Kobe and the Lakers traveled to Boston to take on the world champion Celtics. Most fans would love to have this match up in the NBA finals again this year and I can understand why. Even without Andrew Bynum, the Lakers are proving they can win the whole thing this year. The Celtics may have won this game if Kevin Garnett, one of the C's biggest stars, didn't foul out in the final minutes of regulation. The game went into overtime and the Lakers prevailed 110-109.
The Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, and Cavs aren't the only teams providing great games every night. The talent is spreading league wide, which is exactly what the NBA should want. The young guys who were drafted the past few years are sparking up all over the place. Kevin Durant for the OKC Thunder is certainly one of the young up and comers. Kevin is a scoring machine in his 2nd year in the league. Derrick Rose and OJ Mayo are playing phenomenal. Derrick is the rookie point guard for the Chicago Bulls and Mayo is a rookie shooting guard for the Memphis Grizzlies. The best part is the parody is making good games to watch no matter who the opponents are. In the past week, from February 1st thru the 7th, there were 5 games that went into Overtime.
I haven't even mentioned Sunday. At this moment, the Spurs and Celtics are in a dog fight. The game in Boston, just like Thursday against the Lakers, has a playoff atmosphere to it. The 2nd game of the double header another potential NBA finals preview. Kobe vs Lebron! The Cleveland Cavaliers host the Los Angeles Lakers. NBA is putting on a great show every Sunday.
College Basketball is heating up as well. March Madness will becoming soon. I wont even begin to talk about how much fun that is to watch. If you cant get excited over all that. You can always watch the scouting combines and wait for the NFL draft in April, but I dont recommend that either.
