WOOOO! Why am I wooing right away? Perhaps because I went 7-1 on my Hell in a Cell predictions on Showstoppers. As for the ppv itself, I found it to be a good ppv with some solid ring action. Three Hell in a Cell matches may have been 2 to many but all in all the WWE made sure they all were worth watching. In case you missed the ppv and have not seen results, (why are you reading this?), the Undertaker is the new World Champ. Randy Orton is the new WWE champion, as I predicted. Lastly, DX and Legacy had their best outing and in the end DX won. Tonight, we should see the signs of where the WWE is going with the next pay per view Bragging Rights. The Pittsburgh Steelers QB Big Ben, I wont butcher his last name, is hosting along with his offensive line. I will be interested to see how much we see of Ben. Roll camera, music, and GO!
Raw begins with Big Ben out with the old MNF theme song. Ben says he has a surprise from the get go. The Diva Bowl. Ben you better not get to close to the Divas you may get into more trouble. All 3 brands are being represented in this Diva Bowl. Gail Kim is the special ref. I don't know how many there are but its a crap load of chicks. I believe its a 12 Diva tag match. All 12 get in the ring but Gail breaks it up. Mickie is in with Rosa but then tags in Alicia. Mickie and Alicia are in right now. Head scissors take down and then a neckbreaker for 2. Every woman gets in one at a time. Michelle McCool gets in and Mickie hits her big ddt on her. Alicia gets rolled up for the win by the face Divas. WAIT...
THE NEW WWE CHAMPION RANDY ORTON heads to the ring with the chicks still in the ring. Perfect timing Legend Killer. I love Orton's new t-shirt. Orton is introduced and Raw takes it first break. Randy begins to speak about last nights victory. Orton is now a 6 time WWE champion. Randy is very young still, and he could easily break the record for most world titles after HHH does. Randy talks about not needing any back up last night. True, Orton did it on his own. The Viper calls out Cena who in response comes to the ring. The crowd is hot for Cena tonight, unlike last night at the ppv where Cena was booed out of the building. Randy says Cena will not get a rematch for the title tonight. I am guessing Cena will ask for a rematch at the ppv. John says he is out to congratulate Orton for his win last night. Cena says he noticed the fans last night before, during and the end of the match. John Cena and Randy Orton has become the rivalry, labeled by Cena. John says he wants to do it one more time. Cena wants a one hour iron man match at the next ppv. No more rematches and the feud ends. Orton asks why he would agree to that if he loses. The terms Orton lays out is if Cena wins he is the champ and if Orton wins Cena leaves Raw. Cena agrees but Orton adds no dq no countout, basically anything goes for 60 minutes. Cena still agrees. I have a huge problem with this match. You know why HBK and Bret Hart worked in an iron man match and HHH vs Rock didnt? Because HBK and Hart were 2 phenominal technical wrestlers and the Rock wasn't. An iron man match takes more than just right hands and shoulder tackles. Orton is going to have to carry the match or they are going to have to use a ton of weapons.
The All American American is out now. Swagger had a nice match with Miz and Kofi last night but did not win the US title. Jack grabs the mic talking about being a winner. I just said you lost last night Swagger. Swagger says he will go undefeated the rest of the year. Swagger takes on Primo. I guess the streak will start tonight. Primo off to a hot start to the contest. Swagger gets it back with his 2nd rope splash followed up with a few push ups. Belly to belly suplex for a 2 count. A bear hug now on Primo. Primo starts to fight out but is thrown into the corner. Roll up by Primo for 2 then got caught off the ropes. Dropkick by primo for a 2. Swagger caught Primo with a big boot off the ropes and then a gut wrench powerbomb for the win. Streak begins tonight. Will it last until the end of the year? In a word, DOUBTER.
The Diva chicks are all bitching in the back then Santino shows up. Santino asks Mickie and Fox to kiss in front of him and make up. Fox slaps the hell out of Santino and the chicks brawl some more. Cole and Lawler talk about Bragging Rights. Miz in the back with Ben. Miz talks about what Swagger was talking about earlier. Miz asks for a shot @ Kofi and his title tonight. Ben gives him the match against Kofi but one stipulation. If Miz loses he has to say in the middle of the ring, "Im the Miz and Im awful."
A recap of Chavo hitting Masters when he had Hornswaggle in the masterlock. For some stupid reason Masters tags up with Chavo again tonight. They take on MVP and Henry. MVP and Henry look like a legit tag team. Bragging Rights should be Henry MVP vs JeriShow again. Masters is getting destroyed by Henry. MVP gets the tag and goes to work. Chavo in now isolating MVP. MVP hits the ballin elbow. Masters comes to break up but ends up hitting Chavo with an elbow. MVP and Henry pick up the win and Chavo and Masters argue in the ring. Hornswaggle comes in and helps Chavo out of the masterlock then gives Chavo the crotch chops.
The Special GM Big Ben is out in the ring now. Ben starts to talk about what we have in store for tonight. Out comes the best duel in the WWE right now JeriShow. Big Show asks why do they call you big Ben? Big Show asks where his offensive line? The big boys come out to the stage. Ben starts to rattle off their names as they walk down to the ring. Of course Show is taller and practically bigger than all of them. Jericho uses some big words that I cannot spell like every week. The o line gets in the 3 point stance in front of Show but JeriShow roll out. DX comes to join the party. Larry, looks like you are going to get your wish of a DX JeriShow feud. HBK rants about how his injuries from last night and how JeriShow haven't beat the best tag team in the WWE. Ben makes the match DX vs JeriShow tonight.
Miz vs Kofi up now. I have a feeling Kofi will be hanging on now. Boom Boom Boom! Miz charges after Kofi who sidesteps and Miz goes flying out. Kofi tries Trouble in Paradise but Miz holds on to the ropes. A quick 2 count for Kofi and Miz takes a breather. Another roll up for 2. Miz finally hits a clothesline for a 1 count. Miz showing signs of aggression tonight. Kofi returns the favor beating Miz down in the corner. Kofi starts to climb the ropes but Miz knocks his knee and the champ falls to the outside as Raw takes a break. Miz with a chinlock when Raw returns. Kofi counters a back suplex for 1. Miz with a huge clothesline and mounts for a few rights and lefts. Kofi hits trouble in Paradise but Miz lands on the outside. Kofi carries him back in only for 2. Miz small package for 2. Kofi gets fired up and hits the boom boom drop. Miz grabs the ropes to break the pin attempt. Backslide for another 2 for Kofi. Both men exchanging punches now. Miz gains the upper hand but Kofi hits a moves and heads to the top. Crossbody but Miz rolls through for 2. S.O.S. for 2. Miz hits his finisher. Miz wins the US title. I was wrong tonight. Big title change tonight on Raw. A great match by these two. We should see a rematch. Miz grabs the mic yeah your the miz and your awesome.
Hornswaggle and Santino in the back with Ben. Santino doesn't get Ben's name right and Hornswaggle slaps Santino and then he gets it right. DX JeriShow is next.
Champs out first followed by DX. Jericho and HHH start the match out with some basic mat wrestling. HBK tagged in. I love HBK and Y2J battling it out. Wrestlemania 17 was an instant classic between these two. Add in the feud HBK and Jericho had last year for the World Title. Ah the memories. Show and HHH both get tagged into the match. Raw comes back with Show and Jericho workin over the game. 2nd rope dropkick by Jericho for 2. Jericho gets hung up on the 2nd rope and HHH tries to crawl to HBK and does. Shawn gets the hot tag and gains the momentum. Jericho reverses it with a hard irish whip into the corner. Shawn is hurting now and a Big Show leg drop won't help. Show pounds on the back of Michaels. Jericho with a giant clothesline for 2. Small package by Michaels countered into the Walls of Jericho to HBK in the middle of the ring. HHH trying to get the crowd behind Shawn. HBK crawls to HHH but Jercho pulls him back into the center of the ring. Shawn gets close again then HHH runs into to break up the Walls. Jericho tags Show first. Shawn crawling up the corner and Show charges 3 times but is stopped everytime. Show grabs Shawns leg on his knee. Enziguri and theres a tag to HHH. Jericho got tagged as well. HHH gets on a roll and gets a 2. Knee drop by HHH. Show tries to stop him but Jericho ends up hitting Show. All 4 get in the ring and Show suplexes DX. Jericho goes for a pin with his feet on the ropes for another 2. Pedigree stopped by Show. HHH and HBK push Show into the turnbuckle on the outside. Jericho in with DX. DX looks around and rolls out of the ring. Ben comes down the ramp with his o-line. DX and the Steelers trap Jericho. HBK throws him back in the ring for some Sweet Chin Music and DX wins.
I am a huge Jericho fan as most of you know. I have one big problem with this feud if the DX JeriShow feud continues to the ppv. Who benefits from this? I understand the JeriShow feuding with Henry MVP or Cryme Tyme because it helps the young stars get a push towards a belt and makes them look good to the fans. Here though DX and JeriShow are all established stars who don't need to look good or push each other. Its why Legacy DX makes so much sense. Legacy came out of the feud looking great and then weren't even shown on Raw tonight. The WWE cannot drop the ball with Legacy. I really hope DX JeriShow was a one time deal and next week we will see Legacy come back and help JeriShow. I know Larry from ShowStoppers is going to be super excited for the DX JeriShow feud. I feel a Hart Dynasty JeriShow feud would help establish the young men. If this feud with DX continues, the tag team division will end up getting over looked because of the massive stars going at it, the belts will turn into an after thought. WWE has worked hard, I take that back, JeriShow have worked hard to make the tag belts look credible again. Dont take that away in one feud. Alright, time for me to get on out of here for this weeks Raw. I apologize for not having an NFL blog this past week. We had some technical problems with the website beyond our control. I will have one up this week for sure. Lets just say I didn't do as well as I did predicting Hell in a Cell. I guess that's why Im not the best damn NFL blogger on the planet. I am the best damn WWE blogger on the planet. WOOO!
