I learned a few things while I was gone, this spot for the Raw blog can not be replaced (Sorry John) and I sure did miss watching Raw live. If it weren't for this blog, I would miss a lot of Monday night's show. I had it stored on the DVR and I fast forward through a lot of it. Back to back weeks of 3 hour Raw's is just a little too much for my taste. We are back to normal on BBSD and the Raw blog.<br /><br />There wasn't a lot of news in the wrestling world since I've been gone. I would say the biggest news is Chavo Guerrero asking for his release from the WWE. Once I read some of the tweets he sent out on Twitter and I instantly became a bigger fan of Chavo. He sounds like a frustrated man and he has my sympathy. I am a frustrated fan. This is what Chavo sent out:<br /><br /><span style="font-style: italic;">Yes, it's true. My release is the big news I was talking about. But let's get something straight. I asked for my release. I was just tired.. Of not being used correctly. Just cuz u can make other ppl look good, doesn't mean they should just have u lose to them. The same thing... Happened to Eddie. After being champ, they still had him working mid card status. Being a Guerrero, we've been taught since diapers to get.. The most out of ppl & matches. It's our gift, but also our curse. WWE has always used us to make other ppl look good. It all comes down to Being happy. I was not happy in WWE anymore. I had a smile on my face last night though when I got my release though! :)</span><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;"><br /> <br /></span><span style="font-style: italic;">I will never go back to the place WWE put me in. I will never go back to being under utilized and watching ppl who suck get bigger "pushes" Than me! Thank u to all of u who stuck by me & kept reminding me, I was better than that! :) stay tuned.. Big things coming!! Now I will Really be able to entertain u! :) like me or hate me, 1 thing I have always tried to do is entertain u and give u fans your $ worth</span><span style="font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;">.<br /> <br /></span> <div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-style: italic;"><span>Hey, u guys have me trending World wide!! Thanks. I should of quit a long time ago! Lol I know it may sound like it, but I've got no hard feelings toward the WWE. I've just been unhappy there for a long time & if you have Watched the show, u will no why. I made a lot of money, but I'm better than just cashing a paycheck. I wish no hard feelings toward the WWE& Want to see them and all my friends there succeed! I love wrestling & want nothing but wrestling to get better & bigger. U fans deserve..</span></span><br /> <br /> <br />Well said sir. Now I won't go overboard by saying Chavo deserved a push to main event status. He's not that over with the wrestling world. However, he would have been a perfect candidate to start a Cruiserweight division with a brand new title. The fact is his feud with Sin Cara was for Cara to get over more with the fans. I understand that. It was cut short though and Chavo could have gotten a few wins too. He's right about one other thing, we deserve better. We deserve better stories, more wrestling and building new stars (USE RYDER AND MCINTYRE). This isn't that difficult. Anyway, so long Chavo. I hope you enjoy retirement and I bet I see you on Impact Wrestling within the year.<br /> <br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gTRudwL-aT4" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="349" width="560"></iframe><br /> <br />Raw started off hot with the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. The big problem I have with Austin and HBK getting WWE TV time is we as fans are screaming for them to wrestle again. We are so selfish when it comes to our heroes. We need to accept them for who them are now, which is a memory. Shawn is no exception as I would love to see another 1 match. If he came back to do one, we would want another and another... The cycle would never end. I am really going to miss CM Punk. He's been incredible in the last 2 years. He has actually been underrated. Otunga found out how good sweet chin music feels. The kick was amazing. The segment as a whole was greatness. Again, it hurts because you hear the chants of 'One more match.' Somehow the question mark was Kane and what a coincidence he was standing right there. Way to make it completely obvious it's rigged. As I was late doing the Raw blog, I'll spare you much about the matches. Punk taking the countout was lame but great in heel faction. It makes him weak and smart at the same time.<br /> <br />Moving on to the match Raw should have had last week, Sin Cara and Evan Bourne. I was dying to see this match give 15 minutes or so. These two are hard workers and good wrestlers. Cara has been given a few extra chances since he has been the chosen project of Triple H. Booker T gives me headaches. All he does is scream Awwwww or Oooohhh man. I don't know if he's watching the matches are playing with himself under the table. It's annoying. Their match was spectacular. The match begs to ask why the hell the WWE hasn't done a Cruiserweight Division? It's time to bring it back.<br /> <br />I was pleasantly surprised Kofi and Ziggler were wrestling again. I'm so happy as a Dolph fan to see he is being used on Raw. His U.S. title reign should continue for a while. I would love to see him elevate to the upper card status once Punk leaves the WWE. He's deserved the push for a long time. I loved his feud with Edge and thought that would keep him in the main event status. Instead, much like a lot of the time, Raw screwed up with him after the draft. Kofi and Dolph continues and I'm good with that.<br /> <br />Del Rio and Big Show is another story I would love to see end. I've never really bought the story to begin with. A cage match is always cool though on Raw. Mark Henry is certainly getting a fat push. Del Rio and Cena is likely the main event at Summerslam. The cage crashing was pretty sweet. WWE PG included a holy shit chant. That ruled. Henry and Show are headed for a special match soon. Henry might get a shot at the World title after moving off Show.<br /> <br />Divas action was....typical.<br /> <br />Hey, Drew McIntyre was used! Barely but he was. His push keeps going forward when he is fodder for HBK. DDP should up, BFD!<br /> <br />Miz and Riley has been the highlight of Raw aside from Punk. They've done a great job of pushing Riley but not shoving him down our throat. I couldn't believe he won at the last ppv. I'd love to see Swagger and Rey wrestle a few more times. They have good chemistry. Swagger is a really good worker inside the ropes. He's wrestled Show, Rey and everyone in between and it's usually a solid outing. The tag tornado match was pretty damn sweet. For a company that says they "entertain", Raw had quite a bit of wrestling.<br /> <br />I've said it for weeks, I like R-Truth. I knew he wouldn't win at Capitol Punishment since Vince is racist. Truth needs a big win soon though or the momentum is leaving the building from his heel turn. Actually I take that back. Wins and losses don't matter. Jericho proved that. Truth can continue to entertain me no matter outcomes. Oh no, Super Cena lost and kids and women all across the world cry. Meanwhile, Truth got the win he needed. Punk furthered the story and I was a happy camper after the finish of the match. Well, that is until Punk grabbed a microphone. I loved Punk wearing a Stone Cold shirt, hilarious. The promo was as amazing as everyone was tweeting about on Twitter. Punk is the best overall talent in the WWE. Punk proved everything is true with the epic promo. It should have continued on for another hour. Raw ended with a helluva bang.<br /> <br />Raw provided a ton of wrestling, entertainment and then Punk stole the entire show. Some will call it a shoot, some will call it a work, I will do neither and just say it was unbelievable. Raw as a whole was a great program. I'm glad I came back to write about that amazing promo alone. You can follow me on Twitter, @mccall316. We better celebrate because in another week, the NBA will be have all the headlines with a lockout. I'm happy to be back from vacation (more on that later) and ready to bring you some NBA draft analysis along with some crappy jokes. The NBA is one league I've stayed away from since the Spurs were knocked out of the playoffs. I was hurt. The pain hasn't subsided much since the Mavs won the title and Tony Parker might be leaving. Every media outlet says this draft is weak. If that's the case, then no need to dive into all the information right? That's crap. It's called a lottery for a reason. Teams are gambling on these young men and whose to say they won't find a hidden gem in the pile of rust. All I want is some exciting trades, good picks and maybe a few surprises.<br /><br />I know you may have never been to Omaha, Nebraska before or think it sounds boring. I have some news for you, Omaha is pretty sweet one time out of the year. My brother and dad came up from Texas and Oklahoma for the College World Series and it was awesome. T.D. Ameritrade Park opened without any problems and it is awesome. Rosenblatt was a dump compared to this new park. Sure, some of the traditions such as the outfield sections yelling 'Right Field Sucks' 'Left Field Sucks' or the ball girls getting booed for not catching foul balls off the netting behind home plate and you don't have to park in someone's lawn for $20 a game. However, the fans on Tuesday day game did start the sucks chants and a giant wave over the park. I enjoyed parking in a garage and spending less money to park there all day then someone's yard and the new fan fest has more room for games for the kids. My only problem was the General Admission gate was messed up. The tickets tell you to go to Gate 3 or 4 but when you get to those gates, you must walk up a giant ramp on the other side of the fence just for your entrance. It was lame. Other than that and getting a massive sun burn on my arms, I enjoyed my new CWS experience. In fact, my whole vacation was wonderful. I got to spend time with my family, ate plenty of food and watched sports. You can't beat that. We had one of the greatest waitresses ever on Monday night at the Omaha Old Market Old Chicago restaurant. She was beautiful, fun and had a personality. I know you are saying, 'Well she was a waitress so she was just nice to you for the tips.' That is not always the case when some servers really suck. I'd take a few more like her any day. Alright enough about my relaxing time away from work, let's spend some quality time on the NBA Draft.<br /><br />1) Cleveland Cavs- Kyrie Irving, PG, Duke<br /><br />This should have been the Clippers pick and I would have loved to see Irving to them instead of the Cavs. This draft is suppose to be a weak one and when the number 1 pick is a guy who played 11 games for his 1 season at Duke, it's weak sauce. He's not a super-duper-star and won't fill the void of Lebron James. There isn't one guy who could do that. At least not in this draft. I won't bore you with versatile, explosive or any of that other crap. In all, Irving needs to come in and be a good point guard and lead this team. It's going to take time, much like Wall in Washington. I have more faith in Wall than Irving. The NBA is a point guard league and the Cavs must feel this guy can lead them.<br /><br />2) Minnesota Timberwolves- Derrick Williams, F Arizona<br /><br />I'm much higher on Williams than I should be, probably. Williams was the man I felt Cleveland should have selected. If the Cavs take Williams 1st and Brandon Knight 4th, that's a homer run. Even so, Williams goes to the Wolves, who already have Beasley and Love, so the Forward spot is full as is the guard position. The problem is some guys aren't producing what they should be where they were drafted. Williams is a tweaner, not quite big enough for the Power Forward and to big for the Small Forward. Williams, Beasley and Wesley Johnson are a lot alike. One of them needs to pan out. I can see Williams being much better than either of them. Williams and Rubio who is finally coming to the NBA could make it interesting in Minnesota. Now, find a coach KAHN!<br /><br />3) Utah Jazz- Enes Kanter, C Turkey<br /><br />Kanter is a true Center in the draft. Kanter and Al Jefferson could be a great duo inside for the Jazz. I don't know a whole lot about the kid. He's big at 6'11" and can shoot the mid range jumper which is huge. Jefferson is a back to the basket player and Kanter can stretch the defense. I agree with this pick because of Jazz lack of big men. They need another guard and Jimmer could be the guy later in the draft. Kanter should start right away and that's big especially when you add a foreigner. They usually take a few years to come over.<br /><br />4) Cleveland Cavs- Tristan Thompson, F Texas<br /><br />I love it. Thompson is a kid who can come and play right away. The Cavs want to use their 2 top 4 picks for guys who can come in and play. The other big foreigner, Jonas, wouldn't be able to play this coming year. Now that may not matter because of the lockout but if the NBA gets a CBA done, they get 2 kids to play right away. Thompson is a bit small at the Power Forward spot at 6'8" and that's my only complaint. Thompson can learn and play right away and that gets my approval.<br /><br />5) Toronto Raptors- Jonas Valanciunas C, Lithuania<br /><br />The pregame with Jonas and Bargnani will be interesting to listen too. I realize Toronto is in Canada but that doesn't mean they need all foreign players. Holy crap, I'd hate to be their play by play guy or a local sports talk show host. I would have no idea how to pronounce half their names. I'm not going to feed you a line of crap and say I know anything about this kid. Good luck to him. You will forget about him in a year when he's not playing in the NBA.<br /><br />6) Washington Wizards- Jan Vesely, F Czech Republic<br /><br />The sad part of this draft is the Wizards couldn't find a decent shooting guard to help Wall. Vesely is a more explosive Dirk. Vesely is a big kid at 6'11", fast up and down the court and can shoot outside better than Blake, who he was compared too. I don't mind this pick if the kid comes over right away. The Wizards don't have enough talent to wait a year or 3 before getting help for their young star, John Wall. Vesely can come over and team up with Wall and JaVale McGee.<br /><br />7) Sacramento Kings- Bismack Biyombo, F Congo<br /><br />This kid will go to the Bobcats in a deal done before the draft started. An extremely young kid at 18 allegedly. Bismack is a freak athlete which doesn't always tell me he's going to make it in the league. He might be a good kid and all. I just don't know if he's going to be more than a work-in-progress. He's a 50-50 guy, total flop or good player. I'm going with flop. The best he can do is be the 2nd coming of Mutombo.<br /><br />8) Detroit Pistons- Brandon Knight, PG Kentucky<br /><br />I love this kid a lot. The Pistons got a great steal with Knight as I feel he can be better than Irving. The Pistons may be able to unload a guy like Stuckey or Bynum by picking Knight. They have way to many guards now. Hopefully if Detroit can move one of those guys, they can add Hamilton or Prince in the deal. They need a lot of help so Knight goes to a bad team. He should help them improve but management needs to help him out.<br /><br />9) Charlotte Bobcats- Kemba Walker, G UCONN<br /><br />Walker is a kid who lit it up in the Big East Tournament and the NCAA Tournament which helped him get to number 9. I have some doubts on Walker. He's really small to be a shooting guard but doesn't know the point position. The best I could see for Walker is getting the toughness of Allen Iverson and get to the rim. He will take a beating and may not get back up after being knocked down. I hope I'm wrong since I like Walker. I just hope he can become a solid player.<br /><br />10) Milwaukee Bucks- Jimmer Fredette, G BYU<br /><br />The pick goes to the Kings in the deal earlier in the day. Sac gets a big time scorer in Fredette. He could end up being a Mark Price 2.o. He can't guard anyone but that's not why anyone would drafted him. Fredette should be a good scorer as he can hit shots off the pick and create his own shot. I don't see him as a starter for any team because of lack of defense. He will be a great spark off the bench. Is that good for number 10?<br /><br />11) Golden State Warriors- Klay Thompson, G Washington State<br /><br />Finally the first true shooting guard comes off the board. He is a pure shooter and bigger than Curry. The Warriors are packed with guards though so a trade could be in order sometime. Monte Ellis is the guy I keep hearing will be traded. They wouldn't get rid of Curry who is an explosive offensive player. Curry could slide to the point and Thompson the 2 if they trade Ellis. If they don't trade, then I'd say you start Thompson and have Curry come off the bench. Thompson is bigger and can play better defense. Golden State could even play all 3 and go small.<br /><br />12) Utah Jazz- Alec Burks, G Colorado<br /><br />The Jazz were hoping for Jimmer to be here so they could add yet another white guy. They have Gordon Hayward for that spot. Burks is another true shooting guard. Burks could easily be the first guy off the bench of the Jazz next season. C.J. Miles should start and then Burks subs for him. He's lengthy which will help his defensive potential and he needs to develop his jumper. I like both picks for the Jazz. They add size and potential.<br /><br />13) Phoenix Suns- Markieff Morris, F Kansas<br /><br />One of the brothers comes off the board to the Suns. Morris is a power forward who can play all over the court. He can play pick n' roll which helps Steve Nash, that is if he stays in Phoenix. There were a ton of rumors Nash was on his way out in several scenarios. So far, he sticks around and they add size inside. I liked the pick a lot. Suns needed a guy just like this. He's not as explosive as Amare but he's got better knees.<br /><br />14) Houston Rockets- Marcus Morris, F Kansas<br /><br />The twins go back to back. As Stern said, "Yes they do." The Rockets are going to have plenty of questions with Yao and this pick. Patrick Patterson, Luis Scola and now Morris. Houston has more filler and glue guys than any other team in the league. If they had a true superstar, this would be a good thing. They don't and I don't see them getting one. I don't see them jumping into the playoffs this coming year.<br /><br />15) Indiana Pacers- Kawhi Leonard, F San Diego State<br /><br />I was shocked it wasn't a white guy. Hey, I'm not racist, it's just what Indiana does. With Jimmer gone, the Pacers take a 6'7" Forward who should work hard on the defensive end with his long arms. Leonard could play well with Danny Granger, as he's a scorer. The real problem for Indiana is the fact they have a bunch of players right around the 6'5" to 6'8" range. That is a lot of tweeners and not a lot of specific position players. I like Paul George, Hansbrough and Granger. Now they add another guy similar to them in Leonard. They do different things though so that's a plus. I just don't know if they can mix well. After I wrote all that, later on in the night, Leonard is heading to the Spurs for my 2nd favorite player George Hill. I hate the trade as I like Hill. Unless it was a trade for a big man who can guard and rebound, it was a bad deal.<br /><br />16) Philadelphia 76ers- Nikola Vucevic, F USC<br /><br />He's a big kid and size is something the Sixers needed desperately. Elton Brand played better this year and Doug Collins got the whole team to play solid defense. Nikola can come in and help the back to the basket offense. If he can come in and help defend the post, this team will continue to rise.<br /><br />17) New York Knicks- Iman Shumpert, G Georgia Tech<br /><br />I have no idea who this kid is either. The crowd booed him but Knick fans are morons. They boo everyone. Shumpert can help the perimeter defense and that's a good thing. He may not be able to shoot which fills a void for New York. They have to many chuckers. I don't know much about Shumpert. If he can compete on the defensive end and add toughness, that's perfect. Now, they have to add size.<br /><br />18) Washington Wizards- Chris Singleton, F Florida State<br /><br />Here is a kid who can play for the Wiz right away. I don't care if he can't score because this was all about defense. Singleton is a solid defender and can guard almost every position. He doesn't need to fill it up, just hustle and get slop shots. He's a good kid and I liked the pick. I would love to see both of these picks come in right away for the Wizards. I like Wall and would love to see them get a little better. My buddy needs a reason to stick with the NBA since he's a Wiz fan.<br /><br />19) Charlotte Bobcats- Tobias Harris, F Tennessee<br /><br />This pick goes to the Bucks in the 3 team trade from earlier. From a roster standpoint, he fits the role they need. I don't know much about him so I can't dive in. I will say I had hopes Bogut would be on his way to San Antonio.<br /><br />20) Minnesota Timberwolves- Donatas Motiejuna, F Lithuania<br /><br />Another player we won't see right away. The T'Wolves need talent and this isn't a guy with talent. Then again, I don't see much talent in this draft. This pick and Johnny Flynn were traded to the Rockets for Brad Miller, a future 1st rounder and the number 23 pick in this year's draft. Yes the Rockets needed another forward.<br /><br />21) Portland Trail Blazers- Nolan Smith, G Duke<br /><br />This was the perfect player for Portland. They need another Point Guard who can help feed the ball to Aldridge, Roy and Wallace. The trade they made late in the year for Wallace was brilliant. Oden is the bust on the team who will never be a complete player or help the team which is unfortunate. This Blazer team is one move away from being a great team. They made the wrong choice in Oden but Smith was a great addition. The trade later on made sense for both teams. Andre Miller is an older veteran and the Blazers got a young PG who I like a lot. Felton is a solid starter and will fit in with the Blazers.<br /><br />22) Denver Nuggets- Kenneth Faried F Morehead State<br /><br />Faried comes from a great college name. I grew up in Moorhead, IA. Anyway, I haven't heard much about the kid. He's small at 6'7" to play the power forward position. He is going to be one of those guys who comes off the bench and provides a ton of heart and energy. Those two things can't be measured.<br /><br />23) Houston Rockets- Nikola Mirotic, F Spain<br /><br />If David Stern can't pronounce his name, he doesn't deserve to be picked. Never heard from him and he won't be coming over for 4 years. How does this help? Well since they traded the pick it doesn't matter. The T'Wolves are going to get the foreigner. The Rockets add Flynn which isn't all bad. Oh wait, yes it is because he hasn't been good either. The pick was moved again to Chicago<br /><br />24) Oklahoma City Thunder- Reggie Jackson, G Boston College<br /><br />The future of the NBA is probably this franchise. OKC is a great team and the trade for Perkins was perfect. I was hoping for a big for the Thunder. Jackson is a role player and that's all this team needs. He can come off the bench at times for Harden and Westbrook. OKC are close to the Finals so they aren't in major need at any position. At 24, Jackson is the perfect role, glue type player.<br /><br />25) Boston Celtics- MarShon Brooks, G Providence<br /><br />Brooks will be a bench player for Allen. He won't have the quick shooting touch as Allen but can improve. Celtics can't find new stars at the bottom of the 1st round. Again, you find role players and energy players. Brooks can fill it up and should improve on the defensive end. He should be a decent role guy for now. Brooks was traded later to the Nets. That's not a bad deal for the Nets. They need guys who can score and spot up and shoot. He can play well with Williams and Lopez.<br /><br />26) Dallas Mavericks- Jordan Hamilton, F Texas<br /><br />The (large gulp to swallow the puke) world champion Dallas Mavericks chose a homer Texan. He's a defender which is something Dallas has been improving on the past 2 years as a team. I like Hamilton and will be a good player. It's a shame they traded him about 2 minutes after being picked for a Rudy Fernandez. They don't need defense.<br /><br />27) New Jersey Nets- JaJuan Johnson, F Purdue<br /><br />JaJuan goes to the Celtics after they switch draft picks. He's a 6'10 back to the basket player which is good for the Celtics. They need a guy on the post after trading Perkins. He needs to get tougher to help their inside defense.<br /><br />28) Chicago Bulls- Norris Cole, G Cleveland State<br /><br />This pick went to Minnesota in a deal earlier in the night. Cole is a guy I hoped would fall to the Spurs after trading Hill. T'Wolves made a lot of deals during the draft and they eventually moved this kid to the Heat. I guess Minnesota wanted to make the most moves in NBA Draft history.<br /><br />29) San Antonio Spurs- Cory Joseph, G Texas<br /><br />Well the Spurs needed another guard after trading Hill and they add a role player and back up point guard. He's not well known and that's the norm for the Spurs. I can rejoice in the fact he isn't a foreigner who isn't going to play for 3 years. I still look for a big defender/rebounder some time during the draft. I doubt they move Parker now.<br /><br />30) Chicago Bulls- Jimmy Butler, F Marquette<br /><br />Yeah I have no idea who this kid is. The draft ends in a whimper.<br /><br />The NBA Draft had several solid picks and questionable calls. I don't care for foreign players being drafted and then waiting 3 or 5 years to get over to the league, aka Rubio. I liked what several teams did especially the Jazz adding a guard and Center. I felt the Cavs really missed an opportunity to add Williams and Knight. However, they got guys coming right in and helping the teams. "We want the Cup." "We want the Cup." It was a mantra heard for miles in Boston just three days ago after the Bruins forced a game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. Now the Bruins fans can scream, 'We got the Cup.' The Stanley Cup Finals are over and the Boston Bruins are the champions. Did you know? Hockey has taken a dramatic turn from the 4th recognized sport in the United States to a sport barely heard from even during their finals. Lord Stanley is the best trophy in all of sports. A Game 7 of any round of hockey is more physical, tense and exciting then any other sport. NHL should ride the waves of these great playoffs and try to put themselves back in the sight of sports fans.<br /><br />I'm guilty of not watching hockey for the past few years. That is until this year and these playoffs. I didn't have a rooting interest in the playoffs as the team I use to follow was the Colorado Avalanche. I loved Patrick Roy, the greatest goalie in NHL history. Tim Thomas for the Boston Bruins reminded me of Roy. Thomas was damn near perfect in every game. In total of 7 games, he averaged 1 goal a game. The majority of those were in the early games. When Boston needed him the most, Thomas came up large including a shutout in Game 7. The shutout in Game 7 was the first time ever a road goalie got a shutout in a Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The series was a tale of 2 goalies. Luongo was solid at home giving up only 6 goals. The problem was Luongo was yanked in two games in Boston. His confidence had to have been shaken. You can't place all the blame on Luongo as Rome did the damage to turn the series a complete 180.<br /><br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HfqilJBuymk" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="349" width="560"></iframe><br /><br />That hit on Horton really flamed a fire inside the Bruins that never went out. Normally a series will turn the other way. The Canucks would use that hit to pump up the whole team and they would go on the attack. The momentum swing was fairly apparent when Bruins put 8 on the board in the same game. If these playoffs and Finals were so damn good, the media should have been talking about it.<br /><br />The media always finds other crap to talk about, some relevant and some not so much. The major sports network with 4 letters won't talk much about the NHL after they left the network a few years ago. If they don't own it, it barely gets attention. Versus doesn't reach as many people either. NHL hurt themselves leaving the big network. At the same time, NBC isn't helping the league enough. NBC should have a game every single weekend at least on Sundays after the NFL is over with. This offseason for the NFL has opened the door for MLB, NHL and Nascar to reach a bigger audience they haven't had. No one wants to hear athletes complain with owners who are both making billions. The leagues that are playing, NBA heading to a lockout on June 31st, have the opportunity. NHL is digging themselves out of the hole albeit slowly because of management.<br /><br />Gary Bettman is the Commissioner of the NHL and hasn't been seen much or heard from during the playoffs. When Horton went down after that hard it, Bettman should have come out right away to acknowledge that those types of hits don't belong in the NHL. He didn't say anything. Rome was suspended but it was quietly. If we look at an example of the NBA, Stern would have been front and center if something like that happened in his league. He did just that when Bynum smacked J.J. Barea in the Lakers Mavs series. If the NHL wants to start helping their cause, Bettman and league officials need to be seen and heard from, good or bad.<br /><br />On a personal note, hockey is my favorite sport to see live in person. If you have never been to a hockey game, go to a game. I don't care if you think it's a stupid sport, don't know the rules or any other lame excuse, hockey is great live. There is so much action, it's hard to relax. Hockey also benefits from High-Definition Televisions. I expect NHL may be even better once 3D is in everyone's homes.<br /><br />The NHL is starting to gain the momentum and come back as a big time sport. These playoffs certainly helped. They are getting help from the NFL and the NBA (soon). NHL needs the networks of Versus and NBC to get into more homes and more games on television. If you are thinking about purchasing season tickets to the NFL or NBA, maybe think about NHL or a local hockey team. You won't be disappointed. I don't need to ask the question now because I know where my hockey is and I hope you find it too.<br /><br />J CallJ-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-88390777464006350482011-06-13T18:00:00.005-05:002011-06-13T22:10:39.312-05:00Raw 6-13<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XA2bvWWvxGM/TfabP6ljV0I/AAAAAAAAAGA/Rc3cHfIZt74/s1600/Stacy%2BKeibler.jpg"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 247px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XA2bvWWvxGM/TfabP6ljV0I/AAAAAAAAAGA/Rc3cHfIZt74/s320/Stacy%2BKeibler.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5617848282918377282" border="0" /></a>I sit here a humble writer tonight. I'm suppose to write about Raw and why this 3 hour Raw is going to be sweet. Austin will be awesome to see in a role he once had. Do you remember the 4 wheeler? I can't stop thinking about the Mavs since I hate them. I'm sorry and I will do my best to move on. This blog is for wrestling and I will do my best to stick with that topic. I will say Sunday night was good for one reason, Misterrrrrrr Anderson....Anderson is the new TNA Impact Wrestling Champion. WWE should focus on building some under card, oh crap I forgot Cena is the champion so that sells a WWE pay per view. Well at least WWE thought it did (more in a minute). The 3 hour Raw might have some All-Star wrestlers showing up and some STUNNERS!! OH HELL YEAH!<br /><br />The WWE found out some not so good news earlier last week when the numbers for Over the Limit buys were released. Over the Limit featured Cena and Miz for the WWE title and Christian attempting to regain the World Title against Orton. In fact, I heard the Showstoppers had walked out on the show at Wings. Hell they were in for free. Over the Limit had 65,000 buys for $40 a person. The grand total is $2.6 million and that doesn't include the tickets sold at the arena. To say the WWE failed would be a failure on my part. Anyone getting over $3 million for one show is doing well. However this is the lowest buy rate for any WWE pay per view since ECW December to Dismember. I'm no rocket scientist but that show was pretty damn terrible. TNA had even worse news as their Sacrifice show got 7,000 buys. Wow throw a party. Holy crap this is bad news for the wrestling companies but good news for fans. Whoa what? Yes this is great news for fans. You see people make a difference and are tired of watching the same crap over and over and over again. Wrestling promotions focus much more on television than pay per views. The marketing for TV and ads give them much more money weekly then any pay per view aside from Wrestlemania, which did over a million buys. If the pay per view buys continue to plummet, the two companies may turn to an alternative. Eric Bischoff actually said at one time no company should create 12 pay per views.<br /><br />I've written about this before and the solution is simple especially for TNA. WWE does enough buys to cut down on pay per views. TNA could pitch to Spike TV about the possibility of returning Clash of the Champions. Now it could be called something else, perhaps Wrestling Matters. Hell that's creative enough for Bischoff. TNA could eliminate 4 shows and do major shows on 4 Sundays in the year. Few wrestling, booked as big as a pay per view and will further story lines. TNA could really benefit from something like this. They will always receive criticism no matter what they do. You can't fault a company for trying something different. This is a great alternative and be fan friendly. If they leave the Impact Zone each of those 4 shows, the crowds get bigger, more revenue from the gate and a possibility of gaining more fans. WWE will never do this because their pay per views still get okay buy rates. If it keeps going down, maybe they will do something. I keep the hope they are actually listening to you, the wrestling fan, keep up the good work. I don't want to be one of those guys that say back in the attitude era or my generation was better. All I'm saying is if the product is crappy to you, you're not alone. Speak up, don't buy bad shows and maybe soon the WWE and TNA will listen.<br /><br />An awesome opening to Raw. Austin owned the promo with Miz. It's a true shame Miz didn't get to talk back and have some fun with Austin. Instead he was owned and didn't receive a stunner. I can't have everything. I wasn't disappointed though because Alberto Del Rio got a rub on Austin too. Del Rio finally got a match. I kind of figured out who his opponent was way before the fire lite up the entrance ramp. Del Rio is in a really crappy story right now. I would prefer to see him face anyone else right now. I never would have seen a Big Show return. I guess I can be excited about that. As long as Del Rio goes over and gains some momentum back that was lost from his push on Smackdown, I'm good with it.<br /><br />The only way Dibiase ever made it to Raw, get drafted to Smackdown. I've really enjoyed Cody Rhodes and Dibiase on Smackdown. They've been a must see tandem again. Daniel Bryan is getting his chance to shine inside the ring on Friday nights. It's been a treat for a man who can wrestle with anyone, be able to showcase his talents. Raw focuses to little on the inside the ring talent and Smackdown is letting Bryan do his thing. He needs some character to development but for the most part he will speak the most inside the ropes. All 6 of those men in the match are getting an opportunity and aren't wasting it. Smackdown has been the better show aside from the guest stars showing up only on Raw. Good match to further all those stories. So far, so good on Raw.<br /><br />What makes R-Truth great? Let me count the ways: He's an old school character, larger than life and is much more unique than over three-quarters of the roster. Truth doesn't have entrance music which is sweetness. His character is nuts and that makes him memorable. Everything he is doing right now is greatness. I've become a big fan of Truth and his turn. It's been great. Larry Stanley got his JoMo boner on since Morrison made his return. I'm sure Austin introducing him made him pop as much as his little Mavs winning the ring Sunday night. It's nice to have him back but wouldn't it have made more since to save the surprise return and screw Truth out of his shot. Truth would have a field day with that.<br /><br />The Irish Ghost must be getting pointers from Dean Malenko. I love the fact Sheamus found a new finisher. There aren't many wrestlers using submission moves so the Cloverleaf returns. I popped big for that. Sheamus is really under used right now. He and Del Rio are in the same boat. Christian officially turning heel on Friday, pushes Sheamus down the poll a little. Maybe after Zeke takes the belt from Barrett, he can wrestle Zeke for the strap. A triple threat at Summerslam would be fine too for the World Title.<br /><br />I questioned whether Christian was a heel last week, alas Smackdown proved he is now. His promo on Friday was fantastic and I'm enjoying the complete turn. Orton was great at the low blow on the Edge remark. Other than that, I cheered and will continue to cheer for Christian. He was correct on his promo of hard work and busting his ass. Christian has done everything except get his long title reign. WWE reached on the concussion angle. I mean TNA ran that same crap with Mister Anderson a few months back. Concussions are a serious business in the professional sports world. They shouldn't be a fake story in wrestling. It's not hard to come up with something else. One thing Christian has going for him is wrestling skills. He has to work on the heel character and develop into something more than a generic heel. For now, he's getting cheap heat. He doesn't need to work on his wrestling skills. Christian and (Insert Opponent except Great Kahli) is a good match. The ending sucked. I don't like dq's and 2 in 1 night is never good. Nexus could have easily cost Rey the match and it wouldn't hurt his chances for Sunday. Nexus would have gained heat, Christian gains momentum and Rey gains sympathy and support.<br /><br />Morrison wasn't ready to come back obviously. I thought his neck injury was suppose to leave him out until August. Summerslam it will be Truth and Morrison. Meanwhile the entire segment R-Truth was playing Zach Morris talking into the camera while everything else was frozen. Take that Little Jimmy may have been the best line of the night. Truth is absolutely insane and I love every minute of it.<br /><br />Sweetness Dolph Ziggler got a video package and got to wrestle on Raw. The video package was great. The package for Kofi and Ziggler is an easy way to push their match Sunday without the 2 of them interacting. Plus Kevin Dunn and the staff do such a great job at those packages. I would love to see Ziggler take the belt off Kofi on Sunday. Bourne and Ziggler would be fun to watch. Drew McIntyre could come in as well. Bourne would turn into the under dog champion defending off all bigger competitors for the title. This would be a fantastic way to boost Bourne and use everyone else on the Raw roster.<br /><br />The Hot Rod Rowdy Roddy Piper back on Raw was very cool. Piper will never get tired of taking shots at Mr. T. Miz really got a chance to battle two of the best talkers in wrestling history, Piper and Austin. Miz held his own with both men, Cena can't say that. I didn't need to see Piper wrestle though. The money challenge sounds like a Dusty Rhodes booking story. Rhodes was the booker for the old NWA and that's what this felt like to me. Riley has been getting the better of Miz for 3 straight weeks. Miz is putting over Riley but Sunday may be another story. Miz character doesn't really depend on wins and losses. He's a pompous jerk no matter what. Riley needs a big win to get his push kick started. I think it continues no matter who wins after Capitol Punishment.<br /><br />I thought Eve was a heel. I wanted to see Natalya and Beth Phoenix in the ring wrestling. Raw failed at that. Until they use Phoenix or Natalya, I won't be writing to much on the Diva division.<br />The WWE went from pure crap to pure entertainment. Punk and Austin were absolute money together. Punk using the what was funny and Austin being Austin. No reason to start the whole this match will happen rumors. Let's be happy they were on television together and that's all. I whip ass backwards is the line of the evening. Austin gave the power to the people next week. I'm in favor of that but it won't work out as well as the concept should. Steve was solid as the GM. I wouldn't want him to be the GM each week though because then it wouldn't be special.<br /><br />Main event with Cena and Punk was familiar as these two have gone at it several times. The boos and We Want Ryder chants from the live crowd was fantastic. The New York crowds are always very vocal and it makes the broadcasts that much better. CM Punk really had to carry Cena in a close to 15 minute match. It reminded me of Hogan being carried by Macho Man. Punk getting the victory was super sweet. Truth has no shot to win on Sunday. I hate to tell you that. I really hope WWE can keep Punk. Truth and Punk are making Raw watchable. I hope it continues.<br /><br />Well I hate to end on a sad note but I have too. I am going on vacation next week and won't be able to provide a solid Raw blog. I believe John or Larry from <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Radio.aspx?ShowStoppers">Showstoppers</a> will step up and try and fill the void on <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/">BBSD</a>. They will fail but give them a break they can't beat the best damn WWE blogger on the planet. You can still follow me on twitter @mccall316 or email me at jcall@bigbadsportsdaddy.com. Thanks for the hits and keep them coming. Stunners for everyone.<br /><br />J CallJ-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-72522226193763278592011-06-06T17:59:00.003-05:002011-06-06T22:17:02.379-05:00Raw 6-6<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oksDWxaF0hI/Te1fkiC16VI/AAAAAAAAAF4/IHJ6zPt8MRE/s1600/maryse-ouellet-3.jpg"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 253px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oksDWxaF0hI/Te1fkiC16VI/AAAAAAAAAF4/IHJ6zPt8MRE/s320/maryse-ouellet-3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615249391619533138" border="0" /></a>I must have been in the minority or at least the minority on BBSD because I liked last week's episode of Raw. The WWE focused on a little more wrestling and I will take that anytime. The big news seems to be everyone leaving TNA that shouldn't. Foley has announced he requested and granted his release. Tommy Dreamer, who is in the middle of a giant story, is leaving in another week. Now I am all for certain guys leaving the company. For example, Flair, Hogan, Bischoff and Russo. However, Foley and Dreamer have a place. Foley is a mastermind and the people behind the curtain should have listened and used Foley's ideas. Dreamer isn't the biggest character on television or the most charismatic individual. Dreamer is more of a trainer and could have helped in that way. Hopefully, TNA bounces back and uses the young men they have in place. Raw needs to do the same and tonight gets us one week closer to Capitol Punishment. I'm not into the pay per view yet, maybe tonight changes my opinion.<br /><br />The other somewhat big news is the recent uh heel turn if you will. I don't think you can really call this a heel turn.<br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ZFPikeKRv2E" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" width="640"></iframe><br />I don't see how Christian is now a heel. I get that he hit Orton in the head with the title. Absolutely blindsided him actually. In reality, most of the Internet Wrestling Community should be applauding the move. Christian has been a push over for several weeks. He got a great reaction from the live crowd, even if the WWE filtered in some boos. Jim Ross blogged about how this moves Christian into the top heel status in WWE. I disagree. I think Christian will still be cheered soundly as he is so well respected. The only people who are going to boo him are kids. As I've said before, they are stupid. If kids boo him and older folks cheer Captain Charisma, I'll have a new name for him, the anti-Cena.<br /><br />I didn't like the finish to Tough Enough. Andy was a better story to win as he has a family. Luke will end up being a bigger star. Andy got bitch slapped and stunned in a matter of 30 seconds. Way to bury new talent right away. Truth has a stolen the Confederate Warrior from Cena. He one upped him wearing the Confederate uniform. Truth is a show stealer right now. No matter what he does, he is remembered. Riley's music is solid and definable. I like it a lot. To bad the whole segment was messed up by the real Confederate Warrior John Cena. Main event announcement was greatness. Vince and Austin in the same ring is a reunion and fond memories of yesteryear. It can never be that good again. The main event was a great way to progress Riley and Miz and finally start Truth and Cena.<br /><br />I really don't have to much to say about Santino, Kozlov and the Nexus tag team titles. I would rather see a tag match for the titles. I enjoy Santino and his mini push seems to be going over well. I just don't see much point unless we see either more tag teams or they get the titles back. Otherwise it's just going to be pretty boring.<br /><br />I was very happy to see Beth Phoenix on Raw. I believe she hasn't been on Monday night for about 6 months. With Kharma out of action, Beth and Natalya are the only dominate females in the WWE right now. The WWE always wonders why the Divas don't matter. I got an idea, focus on those two I just mentioned and let them oh I don't know wrestle. That's a hell of a concept. Beth needs to be the focus for Raw for the next several months. She can at least make the Bellas matter in a story.<br /><br />CM Punk and Rey could wrestle every week. One thing that amazes me is WWE memory. They can't remember half the stuff that happened a week ago. Yet there's Michael Cole recapping the entire history of Punk and Rey. WWE should recall the history of many stories, then again nothing would feel fresh ever. They've done about everything you can do with everyone on the roster. Another great match between two of the best performers on the WWE roster. If Punk leaves, I may not have a reason to watch Raw. He's the best persona in the WWE period.<br /><br />I haven't read much about the Best of Nitro DVD. I don't need to read much as it is a must own for anyone older than 20. We lived through the best wrestling era of all time. I'm sure the moments on the DVD will make us feel like we are back in our youth. I look forward to checking it out. The only gripe I will probably have is Diamond Dallas Page. Not a big fan.<br /><br />I have no idea how it happened but Del Rio went from being one of the brightest star on Friday Night to being completely underutilized on Raw. The fake Show was a giant failure. Del Rio is talented enough to be in the upper card fighting for the title. The WWE did a great job elevating R-Truth but in return, Del Rio fell. I'm a big Del Rio fan but you already knew that. Kane and him will battle next week and every little kid can go crazy for a return of The Big Show. I want it over as quickly as possible.<br /><br />Zack Ryder and Dolph Ziggler in the same segment is a dream come true. Ryder has been on Superstars for quite a few weeks and got about a minute of air time last week on Raw. The match might not have been the longest or best, it wasn't about that. Cole got to mention the Ryder YouTube videos and that's what it was all about. WWE.com is likely getting those videos so better to expose them on television then on Superstars.<br /><br />I will never complain about a Booker T wrestling match. I'd rather watch him wrestle than commentate. I worried Evan Bourne wouldn't get used. Luckily Raw did it right with air bourne and a double spinarooni. It was also a fantastic way for Bourne to get a nice rub.<br /><br />I mentioned early I liked the main event. Both these feuds needed something and Austin in the mix is always a good rub for anyone. I tweeted (follow me @mccall316) before Raw that the biggest pop of the night won't even be on Raw. I was half right as Austin received a great reaction on the live Tough Enough Finale but also on Raw. If Austin would have stunned Cena at the end of the show, this would have been the greatest Raw in the history of Raw. The opposite happened. Miz took a horribly looking briefcase shot. I enjoy stunners as much as the next guy. I just wanted that to happen to Cena. The ending was a little confusing. I get the GM being pissed that Austin didn't call it down the middle. So why on earth would he appoint him special GM the following week? That made zero sense.<br /><br />I will say I'm looking forward to a 3 hour special next week. More Austin is a good thing and maybe that will get Jim Ross at the broadcast table. Overall, this week was a solid effort. We got some nostalgic moments and some progression in stories. With all the stars next week, it will probably be a complete cluster. WWE needs to stay focused. I think we could all use it after the last few weeks. WWE needs to push ahead with a new number 1 contender for the WWE championship since I don't foresee Rey Mysterio sticking. The biggest interest I have is Riley and Miz. Riley really got over on his face turn last Monday night. I'm not sure where it is heading and that's what is exciting. I won't go so far as to say Riley is a future star but these next few weeks might shed light on his potential. Raw has plenty of potential with Ziggler, Ryder and a few others not being used. Maybe tonight will change the direction as Raw comes from my backyard in Omaha Nebraska.<br /><br />First off I want to say thank you to anyone who has ever served or is currently serving this great country. Freedom isn't free and the price is young men and women dying for what we sometimes take for granted. I may not always agree with the war or why we fight over there. That part is your own judgement. I think we can all agree to support the troops. As a News director for a local radio station in my area, I've read the horrors of death overseas. It saddens me to think of all the men and women who sacrificed their lives. I am a proud citizen of the United States of America and damn proud I have a right to speak my mind.<br /><br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gyxnenq8hBA" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" width="640"></iframe><br /><br />Raw got off to an auspicious start with a ton of technical problems. We missed half the Truth promo while he was out trying to sell Legendary to some little Jimmy. The Raw GM is all about unprotected sex apparently. He banned jimmies from ringside. In all seriousness, this was the worst way Raw could start. The technical problems, Truth maybe cutting a good promo and then Super Confederate Warrior Cena ruining everything. This was not the way to satisfy my wrestling taste buds.<br /><br />Dolph Ziggler being used on Raw helped savor my appetite. Ziggler is very underutilized and it's good to see he is back to his blond ways. Even better, Kofi and Dolph were given time to develop a story and show off why they should be used each week. Kofi does get exposure usually in small doses. They did have a few minor problems in the match, nothing more than hiccups. I would expect that when Ziggler hasn't wrestled in weeks. The match was fantastic and entertaining. Kofi and Dolph are great workers inside the ring and deserved a long match on Raw. Great showing by them and Dolph should get a shot to run with the U.S. title on Raw.<br /><br />Del Rio got the opportunity to finally have a program with someone on Raw. He's done nothing since coming over from Friday Night. He should wrestle Kane down the line with Show returning. This gives him some sort of direction. I would prefer Del Rio to face someone a little higher on the totem pole. The reports were Del Rio taking on Cena at Summerslam for the WWE title. If that is true, then Del Rio should be facing a top tier Raw star. Oh crap, I forgot that Cena is the only high face on the roster. Raw is really missing John Morrison at this moment. Morrison would fill in nicely with Del Rio until August. I'm not downplaying Kane or Show, just wish new faces were established on Raw.<br /><br />The Divas are getting quite a bit of worthy time on WWE programming. They aren't ever going to be the highlight of the show as Michael Cole graciously called them. With Kharma going off television for the next 9 months to give birth to a monster, the live crowds are going to be disappointed in the diva matches. There won't be anything to look forward to except hot chicks. Oh darn. I know Kharma leaving sucks and hurts everything she was building. However, let's not say it's the worst thing ever. I don't mind watching hot chicks toss each other around each week on Raw. They aren't the most talented but they are the best looking on Raw. Once Kharma returns, she will destroy again. I feel your letdown right now. In a few weeks after you don't see her for a while, it will fade into the night. Let me ask you a question, are you dreaming of Edge every Friday night? Be honest. I miss him but don't think about him each week. It's a lot like Macho Man, may he rest in peace. I love Macho man and even went back to watch some of his greatest moments. Think about it though. Nobody would even mention Macho if he hadn't died last week. It will fade is all I'm saying.<br /><br />Alex Riley got new music and titan tron video after a week of being a face. Truth has been a heel for month and can't get any intro music. I guess there really is a conspiracy going on. Joking aside, Riley got a great reaction from the crowd and I liked the music and video. The whole story actually feels personal. I dig that a lot. WWE hasn't had a personal story that actually feels like it in a long time. I have to give props to both men. I hope this leads to several matches between the two. Riley needs to win but not right away. The fans will give him more sympathy if he loses the first match with Miz cheating to win. I never thought the fans would get behind Riley so quickly.<br /><br />Rey and Punk had one of the best under card matches I've seen back at Armageddon 2008. I remember Rey got a bloody nose from the GTS that night. They also had a long feud with a Wrestlemania match included in the story. The chemistry between the two is outstanding. Punk must not be getting the WWE title shot against Cena as predicted by the dirt sheets. I'm just happy Punk is getting used and winning matches. As much as he is used, he could really be the best guy on the entire WWE roster. I've always liked Punk and the tribute to Macho last week made me respect the man more.<br /><br />The pregnancy of Kharma does really hurt her character. We don't need to see a human side of her. I want her to destroy. She did give a great promo. A year sounds a long ways away and I look forward to Kharma's return and kill the Bellas and the rest of the Divas. I still wish we could have had Beth Phoenix take on Kharma before she left us.<br /><br />I must be dreaming. Swagger and Dolph got used on Raw. I was hoping for McIntyre but he will be on Superstars taking on Chris Masters for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. Bourne got the upset win and I loved it. This little mini feud needs to continue. Now if only the WWE could find more than 2 seconds for Zach Ryder. WWWYKI Broski.<br /><br />I was hoping to hear a lets go Jimmy chant during Truth's match. I think that would be hilarious. I was also waiting for the Trojan plug during the main event featuring no Jimmies. Raw was a giant letdown in the main event. I'm certain a drugged up er tired Jeff Hardy and Sting gave more in their TNA main event a few months back.<br /><br />Raw featured a lot of talent in the ring which was a nice change. The ending was just a complete cluster. I like what they are doing with Truth just not that type of ending. I can't complain to much though. Dolph, Bourne and Swagger were used along with a 3 second Zach Ryder sighting. Oh my bad I was just listening to Dolph Ziggler's music. The song fits me as I was perfect in my Over the Limit picks. Yeah I'm really excited I got the perfect score in the worst pay per view in years. I didn't watch one minute of Over the Limit. Luckily I didn't miss much as predicted. Randy and Christian had a match of the year candidate from the fans I heard from. I'm happy they did well and figured they would be the only thing worth the purchase. I will make sure to watch that when OTL is on DVD...or on the internet. WWE works towards Capitol Punishment on June 19th. Raw should show us some direction WWE is thinking for the show.<br /><br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/VfwtbWMToP8" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" width="480"></iframe><br /><br />We lost a great wrestler, entertainer and person 12 years ago when Owen Hart passed away. I remember the night Owen's accident happened. I was at a farm house outside my home town with a bunch of friends. We had ordered the ppv as it was the height of the Austin era. Most of them weren't a big wrestling fan so they didn't pay much attention. I was sitting there watching the entire show and well you know the rest. Jim Ross comes on the air and makes the announcement. WWE got a lot of flack for going on with the show. It was never released on VHS or DVD. I was in shock. I couldn't believe it was real (We always have to guess). The nightly news showed it was real. The next night, Raw may have been the most emotional episode in history. Owen is still missed to this day. He left us way to soon and so has a lot of other men and women.<br /><br />I was kind of mad at first about Jerry Lawler opening the show but then Bret came out and I felt a whole lot better. Truth got a great rub from Bret as well. A great way to further Truth's heel character, put him in the ring with a beloved legend. Super Cena had to ruin the great moment. A Rooster from Brooster told me Truth is entertaining in a nonsensical way. The opener was entertaining even if it went long. Truth delivered a solid promo. Bret gets to be used and Super Cena didn't piss me off to much.<br /><br />The tag team division seems to be getting quite a bit of air time on WWE TV. I'm sure having Kane and Show helps quite a bit. They are a tower of power and are guys fans want to see every week. They even got a pay per view match which is a rarity for tag teams. The WWE could have done this a long time ago. Nexus probably should have won but if Punk is in the title hunt then it makes sense. I just wish Ryder and Hawkins would get a chance to shine against Show and Kane. I can't believe David Otunga is a WWE champion. If this would have happened before Saturday, the world would have ended. I take it Big Show and Kane are going to be feuding with Del Rio until Summerslam. I just want Kane to go med evil on Del Rio. For example, hang him from the stage and strap battery cables to his nuts with jumper cables from Del Rio's luxury car.<br /><br />Evan Bourne continues to be wasted. WWE has no clue what to do with him. He's so small the WWE will never push him. And he still gets big pops from the crowd every time he comes out. Swagger should be getting over but you can make it competitive. Evan's attack will lead to one or two more bouts. I'll take it if they are longer than 3 minutes.<br /><br />So after Cole crapped on everything in the WWE for the past however long this crap went on, he comes out apologizes and all is forgiven. That's some weak ass sauce WWE. Cole shouldn't even be on WWE TV for several months so we can forget about him for a while. I understand they did a bunch of stuff to him at Over the Limit and it wasn't enough. Then Miz gets buried my a face turn for Alex Riley. Actually, I was okay with that. Riley can move on to Smackdown and hopefully the face turn sticks. Smackdown needs another face. I thought Dibiase would be used as a face. Instead, again good move, WWE paired him back up with Rhodes. It will be interesting to see what Riley does on his own. As far as Miz goes, I have no idea. He's a guy who won't look that bad even by losing to Cena and then beat down by Riley. Miz is a good enough character just to bounce right back and not lose anything.<br /><br />The WWE was doing such an excellent job with Kharma. She was coming out and destroying every Diva in sight. Well leave it to the WWE to screw up such a good thing. Kharma crying in the middle of all the Divas is about the dumbest thing I could see them doing it. I take that back. It was dumb enough to where I wouldn't think of it. Kharma isn't suppose to cry, she's suppose to DESTROY!<br /><br />The little things seem to matter to me. Drew McIntyre getting pyro is brilliant. I already enjoy his music and entrance. The pyro is icing on the cake. Bret Hart was complaining about WWE use of Drew and look what happens, Drew gets on TV while Bret was around. I don't really care how it happened, Drew deserves to be on Raw. He also deserved to win the match. I was happy to see Dolph is back in blonde and maybe will take on Kofi soon. Drew still needs to be shown each week on Raw. WWE has about 20 minutes free every week now that Cole isn't going to be in a story. Dolph, Kofi and Drew can all have their chance.<br /><br />WWE did the right thing by showing a tribute to Macho Man Randy Savage. He is a true ICON. The real shame is WWE waited until he passed away to recognize his greatness. The petty bull crap was certainly worth it for Vince. To their credit, the video was amazing and heart warming. King even mentioned Randy as a Hall of Famer. I dig that. OOOOOOOH YEEEAH!<br /><br />I also dug CM Punk rocking the Macho Man vintage trunks. Punk did that for two straight nights. He must have been a huge Macho Man fan back in the day and still admires him obviously. The main event made me wish I could see a CM Punk Bret Hart match. They would have been magic together. The finish wasn't the best. I'm all for the sharpshooter on Punk. I'm not for Cena and Rey. I'm hoping the WWE changes this to Punk in another week or so. I doubt they stick to Cena Rey sugar to the sweet main event for Capitol Punishment.<br /><br />Raw was very watchable. The opening segment had me worried with Lawler and Cena. I wasn't a big fan of the treatment Kharma and Drew McIntyre. The nostalgia of Bret kept me entertained overall. However, I shouldn't knee jerk react to everything. I think WWE will change the main event and Drew being on Raw gives hope. Kharma is a head scratchier. No idea what WWE will do with her. Perhaps the<a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Radio.aspx?ShowStoppers"> ShowStoppers</a> will know and you can check them out every Wednesday on <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com">BBSD</a>. Well I didn't get around to it and to be honest I really don't care. This pay per view sucks! WWE is putting on a filler show and the card shows. Unless you are going to Wings in Euless Texas (Cheap Plug) and watch with the ShowStoppers host, I say by pass this pay per view. I know I will be. For the sake of keeping my crappy prediction streak continuing, I am forced to make my picks. Actually I did well at Extreme Rules, not bragging or anything. Before the picks, I have to speak about the unexpected death of one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.<br /><div><br />I'm truly sadden over the news of Macho Man passing away from a car accident related to having a heart attack. Macho was one of those guys I always hated growing up but that's because he was so damn good at being a bad guy. As I got older, I realized how great Macho was at his craft and appreciated it. His promos were outrageous or as he coined them, madness. The match he's best known for is Wrestlemania III with Ricky the Dragon Steamboat. Randy was an amazing in ring performer and that's what I will remember. His believability, high flying skills and technical ability all added up to being one of the best ever. Vincent Kennedy McMahon is the one to blame for not getting Macho in the Hall of Fame when he was alive. Randy deserved to be in the Hall while he was here with us. Hopefully Vince will swallow his pride and put Randy in the Hall this coming year. A very sad day for the wrestling world. My condolences to his family and friends. Macho Man Randy Savage will forever be remembered.<br /><br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1UJXtCnBofo" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" width="480"></iframe><br /></div><br /><div></div><div>Sin Cara vs. Chavo Guerrero </div><br /><div></div><div>This match will be announced either on Smackdown or on Sunday. If they give these two men time, this could be a helluva match. I love the lucha dor action and this will have plenty of that. Sin Cara and Chavo should be the opening match on Sunday. The crowd will be hot from the start. Sin Cara wins.</div><br /><div></div>Rey Mysterio vs. R-Truth<br /><div></div><br />This match was rumored to be scheduled for Summerslam. With Morrison out, Rey steps in. Truth is now a lunatic. Well I'm guess because I can't understand half of what he says. Truth seems to be getting all the opportunity in the world to prove he is more than just a mid card wrestler. Sunday may prove how far WWE really can push him. I think of this match a lot like Ziggler and Rey a few years ago. WWE puts a veteran in the ring with a young gun to see if he can handle the pressure. Ziggler excelled yet is floundering. Truth will hold his own and get the victory.<br /><br /><div></div>Kiss My Foot Ring on the line and Hall of Fame Speech Match<br /><div>Jerry the King Lawler vs. Michael Cole<br /><br /></div><div></div><div>This has to be it. This is going to be it. The final match between these two guys. Seriously, they can't push this any longer.....right! Right!?! We can only hope, pray and scream until our throats hurt that this is the last match in this feud. Cole has done about everything possible except make out with Lawler's dead mother (May she rest in peace). The King wins and this finally ends.</div><br /><div></div>IC Title<br /><br /><div>Wade Barrett (c) vs. Ezekiel Jackson<br /><br /></div><div></div><div>Wade and Big Zeke could actually put on a quality contest. The Corre isn't much of anything if it ever was anything. Zeke seems to have the momentum with his face turn. I like Zeke and he has potential to be a headliner on Smackdown within the year. Wade also has a World title belt f0recasted for his future. I don't know the chemistry between the two so I'm interested in hearing how this match goes. In the end, Corre get involved and Wade keeps the title by any means necessary.</div><br /><div></div><div>World Heavyweight Championship<br /><br /></div><div>Randy Orton (c) vs. Christian</div><br /><div></div><div>This match will forever been known as the dream destroyer. I said plenty in the Raw blog about Orton getting the title so quickly. It's not his fault though. It's WWE fault. I'm still bitter about the whole thing. Orton wins and Christian turns heel.</div><br /><div></div>WWE Title- I Quit Match<br /><br />John Cena (c) vs. Miz<br /><div></div><div><br />What can I say here that will make you even think for a milli-second that Miz will actually win? They could pull off what The Rock did on Mick Foley and dub over Cena's voice over the loud speaker. Too obvious. Super Cena wins.</div><br /><div></div><div>J Call</div>J-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-21776773904956551462011-05-16T16:16:00.009-05:002011-05-16T22:15:18.615-05:00Raw 5-16<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yPt_FlXT9lo/TdGgw9Dw-yI/AAAAAAAAAFU/ekc3Ty9j7kk/s1600/velvet_sky.jpg"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 213px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-yPt_FlXT9lo/TdGgw9Dw-yI/AAAAAAAAAFU/ekc3Ty9j7kk/s320/velvet_sky.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5607439773937498914" border="0" /></a>The wrestling world had a pretty darn good week. Raw wasn't fantastic or anything. Smackdown and Impact Wrestling/TNA whatever they want to be called was solid episodes. Smackdown focused on bringing some good in ring action. Daniel Bryan and Sin Cara was the best match on television and I would love to see them wrestle, er entertain in a pay per view rematch for about 40 minutes. I did mention TNA and they did a nice job Thursday and at Sacrifice. Raw must serve a purpose for the under card as the main event has been announced for Over the Limit.<br /><br />Before heading down the WWE trail and write about Raw, I need to focus on TNA. I actually liked what they are doing right now. Yes, me the so called "WWE Homer" is praising TNA. I'm not a big fan of certain things. I would like to kick Flair and Hogan off television and take Bischoff with them. Foley is back but that's not important either. The changing of TNA to Impact Wrestling on Thursday is a decent move. My only problem is if you are going to switch your brand name, you better be certain you are well prepared. They weren't. I love the slogan 'where wrestling matters.' Others are going to piss all over since it was TNA that came up with it. However, I am the one who yells and screams in this blog about wanting more wrestling. If TNA is for real and focuses a lot more on wrestling, I will be happy to tune in every Thursday evening to Spike TV. Over the past few months, the Jeff Jarrett Kurt Angle saga has taken several turns. Most of them coming in losses for Angle. Thursday, Chyna returning to wrestling and getting involved was dare I say brilliant. I'm not joking. WWE has Kharma who is making the biggest push a Diva has ever had. TNA responds with a woman who has not been seen on pro wrestling television in years. Angle finally got over at Sacrifice with the help of Chyna. The story should end now and Angle can move on to bigger fish. I sure hope Chyna sticks around as well.<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8vQeQ0TGEOs/TdGgkcpPtPI/AAAAAAAAAFM/BLj_0PZoOxo/s1600/Mr.%2BAnderson.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8vQeQ0TGEOs/TdGgkcpPtPI/AAAAAAAAAFM/BLj_0PZoOxo/s320/Mr.%2BAnderson.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5607439559077901554" border="0" /></a>The other guy I stay interested in with TNA is Misterrrrr Anderson....Anderson. TNA did a wonderful job pissing me off by keeping Anderson down. I text my buddy <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Blog.aspx?Larry">Larry</a> from <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Radio.aspx?ShowStoppers">ShowStoppers</a> (heard every Wednesday on <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com">BBSD</a>) during the battle royal and I said Bubba Ray will win. He said Anderson and I'm glad I was wrong. Anderson has the most breakout star potential in TNA. His character is fantastic, although asshole is probably not the best word for merchandise. Ken has gotten better in ring ability too. He may never got the shot at WWE for many reasons, injuries, drug policy and politics. Anderson has a chance to win the title again and TNA should pull the trigger on a long title run. Let's see Mr. Potential run with the ball for a while.<br /><br />The opening promo was way to long and pretty pointless. Super Cena with the same crap about fear I've heard 7500 times before. I give credit to Riley for giving a decent promo and working the crowd with cheap heat. I'm just sick of Raw being all about Super Cena and Miz for the WWE title. We've seen it too long. At least on Smackdown, Orton and Christian is new and fresh. They will have a better wrestling match at Over the Limit too. Raw should focus on some new talent. I liked what Bret Hart tweeted last week about McIntyre being thrown on Superstars was a mistake. I couldn't agree more. Drew is solid all the way around and being drafted to Raw might have been a mistake when he can't make it on the damn show. He was used every week on Smackdown.<br /><br />I couldn't believe Punk dismantled the U.S. champion so quickly. I would love to see a long feud with those two. Well hell I would be happy with any feud for the U.S. title. Kofi hasn't done squat since heading to Raw. WWE might know how to push a WWE title match but they've forgotten all about the important under card matches. In the 90's, the intercontinental matches were better than most of the WWE title matches. Mr. Perfect, Bret Hart, Jake the Snake, Piper and many more sold shows because of their matches not the main event. WCW was a prime example when they had their Cruiserweight division. Now the WWE focuses on one story and can't figure out how to put anything else together. It is such a waste. Then they wonder around scratching their ass when they say they don't have new stars.<br /><br />I have thoroughly enjoyed the way the WWE has used Kharma. The live crowds are even giving a huge pop every time she comes down. She feels like an event every moment she is on television. I have no clue where it goes with Kelly Kelly and I don't give a crap. I just want to see more Kharma. She doesn't need to be a heel or face just DESTROY!<br /><br />Rey is much better on the stick then people give him credit for. He's really not that bad. I've sure heard a lot worse. I don't like him speaking in Spanish because I don't understand it. I understand why he does it for obvious reasons. I think I've whined about showcasing new talent and keeping things fresh. As I typed that, Del Rio and Rey were talking. We've seen this as well. WWE needs to book Del Rio, Rey and Truth for the number 1 contender to Super Cena's WWE title. That way Raw won't open with a 20 minute promo about who deserves a shot. I shouldn't complain to much since Del Rio and Rey was a solid effort in the ring. R-Truth looked a lot like The Pope from TNA with the do-rag on. Truth is getting a bigger response than ever before so at least something positive is coming out of his heel turn. I just can't understand half the stuff Rey or Truth says. The poor people typing the closed caption with ???? during that entire segment.<br /><br />Cole and Lawler are going to battle in a kiss my foot match is not a bad idea. Michael Cole made the impossible happen, Texans rooting for a Sooner. People wanted to see Swagger turn on Cole. I'm all for Swagger face turn. He's got nothing else going on and Raw seems to be full of heels. You could easily turn Swagger and have him face Del Rio, Miz, McIntyre or Punk. Instead, the WWE probably teased us to hose us over at Over the Limit. I'm already passed my limit on Cole and Lawler matches. This needs to end on Sunday!<br /><br />Speaking of Sunday's Over the Limit, I will be blogging my ppv picks Thursday morning for the entire wrestling world to see. They usually suck but I'll continue to bring them to you. The entire card seems pretty damn boring. Randy Orton and Christian will be the best match but we know the finish. Orton will win and Christian will turn heel. Raw announced an actual tag team championship match for OTL like it matters. McGillicuty needs to be repackaged so he can look like his dad Mr. Perfect. He's a solid in ring promo but his look and finisher is weak. A running neckbreaker is not a finisher. WWE neglects his past which is mistake.<br /><br />Once again Zach Ryder gets shown on WWE TV for less than 15 seconds. Yet another missed opportunity as Ryder continues to gain more momentum on Twitter and Youtube. I figured Miz would choose a gauntlet match. I was wrong. Swagger went from a potential face turn to facing the most over man in WWE. I guess it does help Swagger get passed the sidekick role. Swagger had a sweet bump into the chair. That was about the only thing I enjoyed out of their match. Cena hit a record 7 shoulder tackles so that's something to gloat about. Actually Swagger wasn't bad at all. If that were a lead pipe, it sure bounced like it was rubber on the mat. Raw ends with Super Cena on top, no surprise there.<br /><br />Raw was boring. The overall show didn't bring anything to the table. Over the Limit is a filler pay per view. Cena and Miz in the main event is not getting me to purchase the show. I love Orton and Christian but Christian has about as much chance as I have of winning the lottery. WWE is on cruise control and not giving us anything special during these summer months. They won't for several months. SAVE US Y2J! I know you need more wrestling and you can find that on <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com">BBSD</a> with <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Radio.aspx?ShowStoppers">Showstoppers</a> and our other blogger<a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Blog.aspx?Justin"> Justin</a>. I went from being a happy pro wrestling fan and then last Tuesday evening changed everything. The debacle didn't actually air until Friday night but hell everyone knew before then. Oh, excuse me <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Radio.aspx?ShowStoppers">Showstoppers</a> host don't read spoilers. I'll have more on Christian in a moment. Raw is going to be missing one of their big faces as John Morrison needs neck surgery. Sad news for sure in the WWE. The good thing is Raw is packed with stars so hopefully hmm, maybe Raw will use Dolph Ziggler. Raw has to be better than last week's birthday bore-a-thon. Okay, we can move on and discuss what I felt was a giant hose job Friday night.<br /><br />I read the spoilers and I was super pissed. Christian winning the title at Extreme Rules was a heartfelt moment for Edge, Christian and the fans. I'm not going to sit here and tell you 'Christian deserved better.' The fact is we deserved better, the fans. I believe we were ready to back Christian as a real star and our world champion. He's a hard worker, solid mic skills and a great wrestler. The last one doesn't mean squat anymore. Captain Charisma may have fled to TNA but he was smart to do it. He saw the writing on the wall back then. He wasn't being used as more than a mid carder. His return brought hope that he was going to be properly used. Instead, he was thrown on the C show, ECW. Once again, he proved himself there and then Smackdown. Christian has a great fan base. The match with Randy Orton on Smackdown was fantastic. Nobody should doubt the quality of the contest. I was just pissed off WWE, namely Vincent Kennedy McMahon would pull the rug out from under us so fast. I understand Randy Orton wanting to be the face of Smackdown. John Cena is the face of Raw. Cena has also had long ass runs without the belt and stayed the face of Monday night. Orton doesn't need the belt. He's an established star in the wrestling world's eyes. You know why Orton is established? Because Vince and Triple H pushed his ass when he was in Evolution and then Orton branched off to be a star. Christian isn't as established because the brilliant writers and one Vince McMahon don't see dollar signs when looking at Christian. I, and I'm guessing I'm not alone, bought Extreme Rules only to see if Christian was going to win the whole damn thing. The part that pisses me off is saying Christian can't make money. I heard plenty of folks say kids buy the products, tickets and pay per views. Kids beg their parents and they don't want to see Christian. Yes, I read this crap. Here's some new information for you, kids are stupid! They will like whomever you want them to like. If Christian was facing the giant Hamburgler Mark Henry, kids would be chanting Christian's name. If Christian was facing the Giant Gonzalez part 2, The Great Kahli, kids would be chanting for Christian. Every wrestler could work a crowd with kids because they are simple minded and so is the WWE! One tweet by WWE Universe said blame WWE Universe. Well, let's see I spent $50 for a ticket, $20 on a t-shirt and $10 on nachos and a soda, yep I want to witness Christian vs. Kahli. Give me a freaking break. Swagger kept the damn World Heavyweight title longer.<br /><br />I apparently know nothing about wrestling anymore. If the writers, Vince and no one else in the company believes in Christian, I would walk. The example I can make is an owner losing confidence in his manager. When the organization has zero confidence in you as the guy, then you're set into the mid card "mechanic" role for the rest of the time you are going to be there. If WWE ever throws Christian into the world title picture, he will never win. Why would I ever care then? WWE blew their load with the great moment at Extreme Rules. I will continue to root for Christian and Randy Orton. Christian might as well turn heel. It's the only chance he has. Please, don't write the hate tweets to Orton. You need to direct them to WWE and VKM. I did and do blame Vince and the higher ups. However long Christian's contract is, I'd split right after it's over and head back to TNA. I'd rather be a world champion in TNA than a mid card wrestler in WWE being used to push others over that doesn't deserve a top spot. TNA focuses on something completely different than WWE, wrestling! Mr. Kennedy was released, headed to TNA and that worked out. WWE, pull your head out of your ass and realize there are more than kids watching your product. The ratings suck compared to the Attitude era when the WWE catered to........young adults. Crazy concept! I need a pick me up.<br /><br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/R9e8nPkT3rg" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" width="480"></iframe><br /><br />Alright, I feel better and patriotic.<br /><br />I was and still am all for Alberto Del Rio on Raw. I was just hoping for something fresh and exciting. Rey and Del Rio is neither. We saw a long program between the two of them on Smackdown. I don't want you to read that wrong, their program was great on Smackdown and got Del Rio over. Del Rio is over with the crowd now and needs to be facing bigger names. John Morrison injury saddens me. Morrison has yet to get the real push he deserves. Morrison really did have surgery. However, I had heard he was going to be out months. The diagnosis is he will only be out 4 to 6 weeks. I smell a Summerslam return. Raw started out with quite a racist promo. Miz laying down the Taco Bell parking lot line to Rey and Del Rio. R-Truth tells Del Rio he has Mexican Liver Lips. Amazing. Even better, Truth started out with Hospital food talk. I didn't get much but here's what I understood after the segment, Rey and Truth will battle at the next pay per view as will Miz and Cena. It was set up to obviously. The only thing I loved was Ricardo Rodriguez interrupting Miz at the very end. I laughed at that. Del Rio is the wildcard because if he's not in the main event and not facing Rey, then what the hell does he do?<br /><br />Kharma really had her first victim on Friday night Smackdown. Alisha Fox received a separated shoulder after the clothesline she received from Kharma. I've really enjoyed this debut of Kharma. Vince is finally making the Divas relevant, although it's by destroying them. I think that's called irony. More heads flying off the Divas bodies is always good. Kharma shouldn't even be in a real match for at least another month or two. The mystery will be lost if she starts having matches. The WWE is smart by keeping her away from Beth, Natalya and Gail Kim as well. The WWE will never recognize the history between Kim and Kharma, it's long and good. Kharma's first match needs to be with one of those three lovely ladies. She can continue to squash the others before then.<br /><br />The jokes keep on rolling on CM Punk. According to the dirt sheets, Punk's contract is up and is in a battle with Vince about his name. Well you can tell because since Mania, Punk has done nothing. Mason Ryan and Batista jokes seem to pop up everywhere. I actually like the kid. I don't care that he looks like Batista. He has a good look and surprising agile inside the ropes. He has a great future. In the end, his look might get him moved up quicker.<br /><br />I'd prefer to see Ziggler to go back to being a blond. On Raw, I was simply happy he was used. I thought WWE forgot about him. He and Kofi need to be in a feud immediately. The U.S. title is doing nothing on Kofi. Ziggler needs a jumpstart and giving him the title would do it. Kofi is fine as a face chasing but then it's over. He doesn't do well just carrying the title.<br /><br />Zach Ryder sighting on Raw was the best part of the night. WWWYKI Bro! Ryder is developing a cult following on his YouTube videos. Twitter blew up when Ryder was on TV. It's amazing. His videos have over 100,000 hits while Superstars has like 4,000. WWE needs to push him. I kinda liked what Riley did. He is the red headed step child so it's cool that he came out to challenge Cena. A shame Cena only had one more move that was original in his match. Hell, Dolph did a fireman's carry on his knees (If you're not familiar with actually wrestling, Cena's finisher is weak as pea soup, a standing fireman's carry) then Riley hit a back suplex during the match. Luckily, Cena still had his shoulder tackles to be original since Sheamus is on Smackdown. If you haven't figured it out, I hate Cena.<br /><br />Lawler and Cole continues and Jimmy Crack Corn and I don't care. The mom card is played out and disrespectful to Jerry and his family. How is it possible talking about a dead mother is PG and saying ass and bitch is to harsh! I don't get the logic. Yabba Dabba *beep*. Hey Jerry, what did you do yesterday for mother's day? Oops forgot she's dead. I know which one I'd rather have my kid say to another. Kofi and Swagger wasn't bad at all. I had to put Raw on mute because of Cole but the match was decent.<br /><br />The triple threat match main event was a solid effort from all 3 men. It was really pay per view quality. I'd been much happier had Truth and Cena stayed away. Nonetheless, Raw had to end somehow. I have no plans to buy Over the Limit with a Cena Miz, Rey Truth match. I have no idea what Smackdown has planned. Miz and Cena have been in the main event in nearly every pay per view so far in 2011. The WWE draft should have changed things up and yet the main event picture stays the same. Del Rio is now the x-factor. He has nothing. Maybe Over the Limit features Rey, Del Rio and Truth for the number 1 contender spot. I would be fine with that. Raw wouldn't start with a 20 minute promo the night after Over the Limit featuring 3 or 4 guys whining about getting their shot.<br /><br />I think I've ranted enough for this blog. Raw was better than last week which is a backhanded complement. Over the Limit starts to shape up and I'll ignore it for the most part. WWE is getting a little stale. I don't understand if you have a draft and then keep half the guys off the show, then there was no point. WWE usually doesn't have a point to anything. For my money, Extreme Rules was a better overall pay per view then Wrestlemania 27. I did well on my picks as well. The wrestlers got their opportunity to shine. WWE did a much better job at pacing the show. I loved everything except Michael Cole. I wasn't going to like him no matter what. I really felt Christian and Del Rio should have ended the show. The pop of Christian winning the World Heavyweight Championship was the biggest of the night. Christian's win was one of the last pure moment for me. Edge and Christian celebrating in the ring reminded me of Wrestlemania 20. A wonderful pure moment and I don't care how the hell it happened, it happened. The People's Champ parties like it's 1999 and Raw has an Extreme Rules WWE Championship rematch.<br /><br />I had an amazing weekend when it comes to wrestling. Before Sunday's Extreme Rules, I ventured to Council Bluffs, IA for a little independent show called PWP or Pro Wrestling Phoenix. I had seen them before but I hadn't gone in for quite a while. I was pleasantly surprised. The show featured a Dragon Gate wrestler named Akira Tozawa. He walked around the building several times so I had a good look at him before he entered the ring. He was in a tag team contest with "Babyface" Tony Cortez. Tony has been their for years and is a solid performer. The man I really came to watch was one of their opponents, Jaysin Strife who partnered with David C.....lark. Please, don't ask about David's name because I have no idea why they write it that way. I've seen Jaysin several times and I am never disappointed. He's one of the best independent wrestlers I've ever seen. They put on a damn good main event tag match. The star of the night that shined brightest was the match between "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon and Zack Sabre Jr. I've never seen Sabre Jr. I have to say I was thoroughly impressed. Zack had a good look, crisp in ring performance and left me hoping he was going to be a regular. Unfortunately, my buddies and I were told he was only in the states for a New York minute. This was the only opportunity to see him. I was glad I was there. Zack and Cannon, who I've seen several times and always has a good match, was by far the best match of the night. Now, if you don't live in or around my area, check around to find an indy show in your area. These independent wrestling shows, such as PWP or MPX, are all over the place and focus on something other companies have forgot about, WRESTLING! You never know who you might see at an Indy show. It might be a big star someday in the WWE or TNA.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-12vDq_t8saY/Tb9QTGto7vI/AAAAAAAAAEc/5zTgPbCwgys/s1600/Christian%2BWHC.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 308px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-12vDq_t8saY/Tb9QTGto7vI/AAAAAAAAAEc/5zTgPbCwgys/s320/Christian%2BWHC.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5602284750621961970" border="0" /></a>A Patriotic Raw started with the best National Anthem of all time with Lillian Garcia. She always does a great job with it. I had chills watching and listening to her sing the Anthem. I couldn't believe the People's Champ was first to arrive on scene. I figured for certain the Champ would be first. The Rock delivered the goods in his promo. The People's Pledge was mentioned on Twitter. I got chills during that as well. The Rock and Cole in the ring was pretty cool. I certainly enjoyed the Rock Bottom and People's Elbow. However, the damn segment was a quarter of the show. I hate the Heat, never heard of Pitbull and didn't need to see the Nitro err Heat dancers. I guess Vince thought there was to much wrestling on Extreme Rules. Raw didn't need any for 30 minutes.<br /><br />I figured I would give the WWE some credit since Morrison and Truth were announced before the commercial. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Truth and Morrison didn't even get in the ring. No bell ringing except for Morrison's after Truth beat the crap out of him. I will say this segment worked for both men. Even without the match, Morrison gains more sympathy from fans. R-Truth has plenty of heat on him. I guess it was action and not talking. Jim Ross was back at the table too so it wasn't all bad.<br /><br />Maryse made it back on TV which was great. The bad news was the only reason was to get squashed by Kharma. This is exactly what WWE needed to do with Kharma Kong. She destroyed McCool at Extreme Rules and then Maryse on Raw. I hope this continues. I want her to keep destroying other Divas and then have Gail Kim, Beth Phoenix and Natalya start grouping up to try and defeat her. The one thing I don't want to see is Kharma wrestling dudes. Keep them separate or mix tag matches only.<br /><br />I did see Zac Ryder in the background at the Rock's party. If you haven't checked out his YouTube videos, you are really missing out. Ryder has more charisma then over half the WWE roster. He's funny and creative. I hope he gets a chance to shine inside the ring soon and not Superstars. Hour number 1 ended without one single complete match.<br /><br />The Champ didn't even get to speak. Miz and Cena were the semi main event and also the very actually match on Raw. After over an hour, we finally got a match. The cage match with Morrison, Miz and Cena was a damn good match as well. I felt Morrison was a little disappointing though. Miz brought it though. I still think Miz should have kept the WWE title. I figured Cena and Rock would have a face to face with the WWE title in Cena's hand as a future sight of what could be at Wrestlemania 28. When the hell does a ref actually reverse his decision? We hardly ever see it. The ending was weak. I didn't care for the reverse decision. We don't ever see it and it's stupid. We see guys win by cheating constantly. I know I'm suppose to suspend realism watching wrestling. Still, show some consistency.<br /><br />As I stated in the opening paragraph, I enjoyed to the fullest the Del Rio Christian ladder match. Del Rio will have the WWE title soon. The WWE hasn't pulled the trigger on giving Del Rio a title yet. It will happen before Summerslam. The tag match gives me hope for a few things. Kofi and Drew could easily mix it up for the U.S. title right away. Swagger and Rey doesn't do anything for me though. We saw that last year around the same time when Swagger was the World champion. The only thing I didn't want was Del Rio and Rey again. Smackdown had the longest feud of the year with those two guys. Raw is going to rectify it and I'm super pissed.<br /><br />I was pretty stoked to see Dolph Ziggler on Raw. Ziggler actually responded to a few tweets I sent him a few nights ago on Twitter. @HeelZiggler is his id. I found out he's a big Archer fan. The reason Twitter is so cool is because guys like Ziggler and Mick Foley respond to tweets. It gives you a feeling that they care about you. By the way, I'm on Twitter @mccall316 (cheap plug). Actually I told Ziggler I would give him a shout out in my next WWE blog.<br /><br />WWE must be pretty high on Mason Ryan. He over powered Kane and Big Show. Ryan might branch off Nexus and move on to Goldberg like terror through the under card. The WWE needs to step up and make new stars. Ryan might be one of those guys. We all see the resemblance of Batista. Well, Batista didn't do a whole lot of pure wrestling but the looks is all he needed. I kinda like it though. Nexus is stale as is the Corre. Stables only work when the guys in the stables actually win. Ryan and McGillicuty have futures. Ryan's is a little easier since he has a better look and name. McGillicuty needs to be taken off TV for a while, I paused to write that since Raw was the first time I'd seen him in weeks, and have his name and look changed.<br /><br />Vincent Kennedy McMahon was a special treat. One thing nobody can say is WWE can't produce sweet videos. Their tribute to The Rock was damn good. I'd never heard of Mia but I'd like her pie. I figured some big name was going to come out and interrupt The Rock. I was disappointed. I wanted Jericho, Austin or someone. At least more than Vince. Raw let me down.<br /><br />The entire show wasn't all that great. I know this birthday celebration was special and gave us a few moments. It didn't give us what I wanted which is wrestling and being entertained. I don't care about the Heat, Hurricanes or Pitbull. You have to cater to the Miami fans but you also have to cater to the audience at home. I don't think the WWE did that at all. Extreme Rules use to be one of my favorite shows of the year. I always enjoyed the gimmick matches and the hardcore contests the WWE through out for this one night. However, Extreme Rules isn't much different than any other show. The card for this year is much of the same as Wrestlemania, except no Rocky. I'm not mad about this as Wrestlemania left me hungry for a few rematches and hopefully a few longer matches. We still have questions about the World Heavyweight Championship and WWE title potentially being on the same show as is the U.S. and I.C. titles. Extreme Rules will sort all of that out.<br /><br />Falls Count Anywhere<br /><br />Rey Mysterio vs. Cody Rhodes<br /><br />I feel this match will likely start off the show on Sunday. This has been a great story for months. Rhodes has developed into one of the finest heels on Smackdown and frankly I figured Rhodes not Rey would be on Raw. Rhodes seems to be the obvious choice since it doesn't do Rey any good to win this match. Rhodes needs the momentum to keep his character moving forward. BUT, I know I wrote that in caps, somehow someway I think Rey gets the win to end the feud.<br /><br />Loser Leaves Smackdown<br /><br />Michelle McCool vs. Layla<br /><br />The rumors going around is McCool is heading out of the WWE for a while so she can be with her husband, The Undertaker. I understand that especially when no one knows when Taker will return. Layla may have a face feeling after this match. I would hate to see that, she's a much better heel. I was puzzled as to why LayCool would break up but it makes since now. Layla wins and McCool heads home.<br /><br />Last Man Standing<br /><br />Randy Orton vs. CM Punk<br /><br />I've enjoyed the Punk Orton story to the fullest. The story has ran its course and time for both men to move on. Orton has battled Nexus and Punk since the Rumble. The draft split them apart which is a good thing. The dirt sheets have Punk possibly leaving the company which would make this WWE blogger very upset. Punk is a talented individual in and out of the ring. Punk is stands out from the crowd. In today's wrestling world, everyone acts and does the same crap. Not Punk though. If he really is leaving, WWE won't give him a win over their newest big name on Friday Nights. Orton wins.<br /><br />Country Whipping Match<br /><br />Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross vs. Michael Cole and Jack Swagger<br /><br />I have no idea what the hell a country whipping match is. I'm assuming it's like a leather strap match. There is no way to give Michael Cole enough knots from a belt to even the score. To say Cole is annoying is the understatement of the Century. Cole never received a stunner, won't get a piledriver so what else is there? It'd be great to see something vial like the leather belt being shoved up his ass. If this goes any further than Sunday, it won't be in my blog. I will ignore all of it. I don't care if that means I have to mute Raw to avoid Cole. Please end this crap. King and JR get the win.<br /><br />World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match<br /><br />Alberto Del Rio vs. Christian<br /><br />Del Rio is heading to Raw so the choice is Christian right? RIGHT?!? Hold on a second because it may not be that easy. WWE could pull the fast one and give Raw both major titles for a month or so and then get the belt on Randy Orton. I want to be wrong. Seriously, I love Christian. He deserves a chance to hold onto the World Heavyweight title. I wanted Del Rio and Christian to wrestle for several months. I rarely get what I want and I won't get that. Del Rio and Cena are almost a lock for Summerslam. My picks have sucked so I hope the opposite happens. I'm picking Alberto Del Rio.<br /><br />WWE Championship Triple Threat Cage Match<br /><br />Miz (c) vs. John Cena vs. John Morrison<br /><br />I've really grown to like Miz as the WWE champion. He's had a good run and it should continue for the next few months. However, The Rock's return to Raw on Monday may spell the end of Miz title reign. What the hell does The Rock have to do with Miz? Good question. Well, the WWE wants to push hard The Rock and Cena match at Wrestlemania 28. During The Rock's birthday bash, Cena interrupting The Rock with the title on his shoulder would be huge. This image would be plastered all over. On the other hand, say Cena interrupts but without the belt. The Rock can make fun of him for not winning the match. Which one makes a bigger impact? Cena holding the belt. Cena wins the WWE title.<br /><br />J CallJ-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-20830122590762801302011-04-28T19:36:00.004-05:002011-04-28T22:42:35.005-05:00NFL Draft ReviewThe NFL Draft is always the best draft in all of professional sports. The feeling was a little different with all the lockout junk. The New York crowd certainly piled it on with loud 'We Want Football' chants straight at Commissioner Roger Goodell. The top 5 didn't see a lot of excitement and fireworks. Afterwards though, the sparks flew starting with the Falcons. Before we go that quickly, we have to analyze the first five and see what every team got.<br /><br /><br /><div></div><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 312px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5600828986765727506" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fARv9IR0_Hc/TbokSfvh1xI/AAAAAAAAAEE/u2T_WMZ7tic/s320/JaFatty%2BRussell.jpg" />The picture says it all. Carolina this is your future.<br /><br /><br /><div>1) Carolina Panthers- Cam Newton, QB Auburn</div><br /><br /><div>Now, here's the deal I'm an Oakland Raider fan (Spare me your jokes). Everytime I see Newton I think of Jamarcus. I know it's unfair to do that. I can't help it. Newton scares me like a hot girl in a horror film running for my life scared. I personally didn't care for any of the quarterbacks in this draft (more later). Newton goes to a team in desperate need of a make over. Carolina has nothing to do go on. Steve Smith wants out, John Fox is out and nothing is left but spares. Good luck Mr. Newton and for crying out loud save your money.</div><br /><br /><div>2) Denver Broncos- Von Miller, LB Texas A&M</div><br /><br /><div>I was a bit surprised with this pick. Miller's stock rose in a matter of weeks. I'm not quite sold on Miller over Dareus. Miller isn't much of a run stopper. He's more of a blitzing outside Linebacker. I felt new head coach John Fox missed here. Miller will be a good player but you have to address your need. Broncos didn't do that.</div><br /><br /><div>3) Buffalo Bills- Marcel Dareus, DT Alabama</div><br /><br /><div>One man's misfortune is another man's fortune. I had penciled the Bills and Miller from the get go. I didn't think they would reach for a Quarterback at number 3. Instead, they pick up a beast inside and a guy I really like. He's not Donkey Kong Suh from Nebraska or Warren Sapp. Dareus will just be a solid starter for years and years and be the anchor of the Bills interior defensive line. </div><br /><br /><div>4) Cincinnati Bengals- A.J. Green, WR Georgia<br /></div><br /><div>My buddy Chris, big Bengal fan, was doing cartwheels. Every Bengal fan should have been with this pick. Green was their need and possibly the best athlete in the draft. The Bengals were starring at a no brainer and went with it. There was rumors of a trade out but they stuck to their guns and got the player they need. Great choice by the Bengals.</div><br /><br /><div>5) Arizona Cardinals- Patrick Peterson, CB LSU</div><br /><br /><div>A lot of experts liked Peterson as the best football player in the league. I was mildly surprised Gabbert wasn't the choice. Arizona must want to see if they can develop Max Hall. I like Peterson a lot though. He's a good player and return man. With Warner, they couldn't stop anyone, now they have the opposite problem. The Cardinals defense is getting better but their offense stinks. </div><br /><br /><div>6) Atlanta Falcons- Julio Jones, WR Alabama</div><br /><br /><div>I was stunned with how much the Falcons gave up to get Jones. The total of 4 picks 2 are first round picks is quite a bit. They were very high on getting wide receiver and they found their man. Jones gives Matty Ice another weapon. The Falcons may have jeopardized their future to some degree by giving away 4 picks. In the end, they got their guy and that's what matters.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>7) San Francisco 49ers- Aldon Smith, DE Mizzo<br /></div><br /><div>I have a firm belief the Niners wanted Peterson. They weren't able to get him so they go with Smith. Smith is an athletic defensive line man that should help the Niner defense that slipped a little bit last year. With Patrick Willis and Corner Nate Clements, the defensive line now has their leader. We will see because I'm not quite sold on Smith.</div><br /><br /><div>8) Tennessee Titans- Jake Locker, QB Washington</div><br /><br /><div>When this pick was announced, I wondered if the Raiders had traded for the pick. This was the Al Davis reach in the top ten. I saw enough of Locker to know he's a big fat bust. My 5 alarm siren went off immediately when I saw him. Locker stunk it up against any team with a real defense. All you needed to see was him against the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Locker is the white Vince Young, which means he will whine, cry, runaway and end up being a bust.</div><br /><br /><div>9) Dallas Cowboys- Tyron Smith, OT USC</div><br /><br /><div>Our BBSD blogger Larry was pretty upset with this pick. He wanted a Prince. Well I'm here to tell you that if you want to see Romo end up on the IR again, then Price was your pick. Romo needs protected and Smith can do that. He may have played on the Right side of the offensive line, that's perfect since that's what Dallas needs. He was the need and sometimes that's not sexy. </div><br /><br /><div>10) Jacksonville Jaguars- Blaine Gabbert, QB Mizzo</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The Jaguars never had complete confidence in Garrad and it always showed. This pick proved they are ready to move on. Gabbert is their guy for the future. I disagree. You can tell me how much Jon Gruden loves Gabbert. My rebutal will be Gruden loves every player who ever put pads on. Gabbert should not have gone 3rd in the order of quarterbacks off the board. He's better than Locker but that's not a big complement.</div><br /><br /><div>11) Houston Texans- J.J. Watt, DE Wisconsin</div><br /><br /><div>I hated this pick for several reasons. One, the Texans always take defensive linemen with their 1st round pick, it's not a need anymore. Two, their secondary was torched by everyone and Prince was on the board. Three, you have a great defensive linemen in Mario Williams that gets to the quarterback. In a division with Peyton Manning, you need someone in the secondary to take away his options and Prince could have helped you out. Unless they some how manage to sign Asomugha, then this pick sucks.</div><br /><br /><div>12) Minnesota Vikings- Christain Ponder, QB Florida State</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I'm almost positive half of these teams didn't even watch film on these kids. The Vikings should have thanked their lucky stars they didn't end up with Locker and moved on to another need. Nope, don't want to do that. Webb played well late in the year but forget him. They completely reached Ponder and I hated it. Ponder wasn't worth a 1st round grade. Nick Fairley were still there. Williams wall is about to blow over unless they keep using their "performance enhancers". Bad pick Minnesota. I guess it could be worse that one old guy could come back to play QB for them again.</div><br /><br /><div>13) Detroit Lions- Nick Fairley, DT Auburn</div><br /><br /><div>At first, I didn't like this pick as much. Lions needed a corner and Prince was sliding right to them. The more I received text and tweets, I love it. Suh can teach Fairley how it's done as far as work ethic. Fairley seemed like a one year wonder. You pair him with Suh and this defensive line is really strong. The Vikings aren't going to be able to run through these two. The Lions are moving up. If we actually have a season, I'd pick the Lions to make the playoffs.</div><br /><br /><div>14) St. Louis Rams- Robert Quinn, DE North Carolina</div><br /><br /><div>The Rams couldn't get a top WR for Bradford and will look ahead to the 2nd round for that glaring hole. As long as this Quinn doesn't end up like Brady Quinn, it helps the Rams solidify the defensive line. This pick certainly felt like a Steve Spags pick.</div><br /><br /><div>15) Miami Dolphins- Mike Pouncey, OG Florida<br /></div><br /><div>Well, well, well, maybe the Dolphins have more confidence in Henne than we thought. Pouncey is a solid selection. I ranked him high. Pouncey or Ingram would have been fine by me. He should be a starter from the get go.<br /></div><br /><div>16) Washington Redskins- Ryan Kerrigan, DE Purdue<br /></div><br /><div>This was one of the picks the Redskins got in the trade with Jax. Can you figure out who will play quarterback for the Skins? Me neither. I guess Grossman. Kerrigan is a nice player and should help their defense. I just can't understand what the hell Synder is dreaming about for a QB. The world may never know.<br /></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>17) New England Pats- Nate Solder, OT Colorado</div><br /><br /><div>I had Solder picked a few spots down to the Colts. This was a good pick, not great. The Pats are lacking a pass rush on their defensive line and Cameron and Bowers was sitting here. Still, Brady is getting older and you have to protect him. Especially when the Jets have guys blitzing all over the place.<br /></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>18) San Diego Chargers- Corey Luiget, DT Illinois<br /></div><br /><div>Other than Luis Castillo, I couldn't name a single guy on the Chargers defensive line. They need some help stopping the run when you look at Oakland and Kansas City pounding the ball at you constantly with 2 or 3 running backs. Luiget has to fix that problem. This is what a good team does. They have a need and they fill it.<br /></div><br /><div>19) New York Giants- Prince Amukamara, CB Nebraska<br /></div><br /><div>The Prince finally came off the board. I figured the Giants were looking for a tackle to help keep Eli upright. Prince was the best guy still on the board. I love this kid and think he is a day one starter. The Giants defensive line is damn good at getting the quarterback and now they have a CB to help cover the number 1.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>20) Tampa Bay- Adrian Clayborn, DE Iowa</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Clayborn has some concerns about his stamina. I saw several games where Clayborn was down on one knee sucking wind late in games. In his defense, he took on a ton of double teams and/or the best offensive lineman. I like the pick here to Tampa though. Gerald McCoy has to pan out to make this a great 1 2 combo.<br /></div><br /><div>21) Cleveland Browns- Phil Taylor, OT Baylor<br /></div><br /><div>The Browns needed a playmaker for McCoy and failed to do that. They had a shot at Jones and passed and there wasn't another WR worthy of a 1st round pick. McCoy can still be happy to get a guy to protect his blind side for years. That is as long as McCoy develops into a starting QB in the NFL.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>22) Indianapolis Colts- Anthony Castonzo, OT Boston College<br /></div><br /><div>The Colts may have gotten the biggest steal of the first round. Castonzo fits their philosophy to a T. He's a great pass blocker and gets to play with Peyton Manning. Anthony just won the lottery and the Colts have to be very happy. A win win situation.<br /></div><br /><div>23) Philadelphia Eagles- Danny Watkins, OG Baylor<br /></div><br /><div>I figured for sure the Eagles would take Jimmy Smith. They seem to need a secondary player. Andy Reid had to be thinking about Michael Vick's health at the end of the year. He was getting pumpelled by everyone. Watkins could develop into a starting guard or tackle. I don't know about right now though.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>24) New Orleans- Cameron Jordan, DE California</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Good choice for the Saints. People rarely talk about their defense. I saw several mocks having the Saints taking Ingram. I'm happy they went to the defense side of the ball. Ingram would have been nice but they need help. Jordan helps getting to the quarterback in a conference that has an mobile Freeman and icy Ryan. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>25) Seattle Seahawks- James Carpenter, OG Alabama</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I have no idea why they went with Carpenter. This was a very puzzling pick. Ingram was here to help their offense. Camiri would have been a better reach even. At least he was a tackle to put on the other side of Okung. Seattle wanted out according to insiders. They couldn't get it done and then reached. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>26) Baltimore Ravens- Jimmy Smith, CB Colorado</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I think a lot of people had this pick. It makes sense. Baltimore's defense is getting older. You have to get younger at certain positions. The window is closing on the Ravens defense while the offense is starting to peak. Ravens always seem to do it right and this year was another correct call. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>27) Kansas City Chiefs- Jon Baldwin, WR Pittsburgh</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I know Goodell said 26th but I had already typed Smith in with the Ravens well before they picked him. Baldwin is a good choice for Kansas City. They already have Bowe and adding another weapon for Cassel to throw to is perfect. Kansas City still needs some help on the offensive line and will be addressed in later rounds.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>28) New Orleans Saints- Mark Ingram, RB Alabama</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The Pats once again add another 1st round pick for the following year. Wow that is very smart. Oh yeah the pick. My bad. . Ingram is a power house and should finally help eliminate all the other no names the Saints threw out there late in the year. Good player. I think Bush is gone but other people say he stays with Ingram.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>29) Chicago Bears- Gabe Carimi, OT Wisconsin</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Cutler was hit far to often and Carimi is a mauler. He will keep Cutler upright instead of faking a knee injury in the biggest game of the year, allegedly. Bears have a good core of players only I'm not sold on Coach Smith. Crap, I did it again. I have to stick to the picks. Anyway, I do like the pick to help a bad offensive line. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>30) New York Jets- Muhammad Wilkerson, DT Temple</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The guy with the crazy hair on that mega network really like Wilkerson. I figured the Jets would go defense. They always look to help somewhere on the defensive side. I hate the Jets and can't stand Sanchez. However, the front office does a lot of smart moves. Wilkerson will team up with Jenkins to really fill some gaps.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>31) Pittsburgh Steelers- Cameron Heyward, DE Ohio State</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Another team always looking for defensive help, the Steelers gets some with Heyward. He switched between outside and inside the line during the year. He fits the Steelers system of a 3-4. Pittsburgh may have looked for a corner if there was one fitting the bill. They must not have liked anyone and went with the guy they liked the most which was Heyward.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>32) Green Bay Packers- Derek Sherrod, OT Mississippi State</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>If the champions had one glaring weakness, it was the offensive line. I know it's not a major weakness but they needed to get younger and plus Sherrod doesn't start at Left Tackle. I thought the pick would be Bowers who fell all the way from top 5 or 10 to 2nd round. He will be chosen quickly in the 2nd round. The champions found a guy they can use right away on the right side of the line and move last years 1st round pick Bulaga to the left side. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The draft was a lot of fun until about pick number 25, then it hit a wall. The whole thing slowed down and picks weren't coming in at all. Baltimore pulled a Mike Tice and passed even. In the end, everyone is going to remember Newton for better or worse. I'm sure most of it has to do Edge's retirement. I said a lot of what I wanted in the Raw preview. I was hoping for some drastic moves and Smackdown gaining some bigger names. The Draft has to help some of the mid card wrestlers especially guys like Dibiase, McIntyre and Daniel Bryan. At the end of Raw, I was pleased with several moves and disappointed in the ending. I have to tell you this is my 2nd draft of the blog. I had one complete but this piece of crap website called Blogger sucks donkey balls and erased nearly everything I wrote.<br /><br /><br /><div>Before Raw, you have to be watching Tough Enough. The first few weeks, I had my doubts but last week and this with Bret Hart have been superb. I am a little biased since Bret has always been my favorite wrestler of all time. If you're not on twitter, you missed this <a href="http://www.twitvid.com/F8G2H">epic video</a>. The song says 'I'm going to make you cry', well I cried laughing my ass off. There is some talent on Tough Enough and I look forward to seeing what happens with some of these young men and women. </div><br /><br /><div>Raw started off nicely with the battle royal. The whole thing was forgettable except for Kofi and Bourne's interaction near the end. I don't remember anything else after this since afterwards John Cena was drafted to Smackdown. This moment was a giant shocker for everyone. The entire Internet Wrestling Community was stunned. I was on twitter and I thought it was going to blow up. Everyone thought this was a good move for WWE and Smackdown. I was on the fence. I didn't want to see Cena move to Smackdown. I felt it would hurt Christian's chances of becoming the face of Friday Night. WWE needs to show they are committed to Captain Charisma. Luckily the disappointment from the main event and final draft pick, lifted my spirits.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>R-Truth really stepped his game up with his on stage promo. Truth saying he is finally himself is a good thing. The whole rap gimmick was played out. Truth's little kid voice made me laugh. The crowd responded hot with plenty of boos and WHAT chants. Morrison and Truth can have a hell of a story. Morrison will have to step up his mic skills. One thing was proven tonight, Morrison has the crowd behind him. I don't know whether to credit Morrison or Truth.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>All I can say about Cody Rhodes is DAMN! He's completely turned me into a fan. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I was really hoping the Irish Ghost would move over to Smackdown. At the end of the night, Orton and Sin Cara were the big names heading to Smackdown. They didn't add a big heel and lost Del Rio. Sheamus can easily move over and be back into the main event picture. Sheamus has gotten the giant shaft on Raw. The match proved that with Sheamus taking two Trouble in Paradise for the loss. Obviously, Smackdown did gain one big name with Randy Orton. He was one guy I said in my Raw preview would be perfect to go over to Smackdown. I finally got one right.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The Cole and JR segment lasted way too long. Anything with Cole lasts way to long. I did find it very funny Cole received a black eye and bloody lip. Ross may have ended up with a broken hand. Lawler mentioned it later on and I saw some pictures of it on twitter. It didn't look good.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I couldn't even tell who Randy and who Ziggler were in their match. Ziggler's unique look is gone and it sucks. I know I mentioned it last week but I will continue mentioning it because I hate it. I would love to see Ziggler get a long term program with someone, anyone on Raw. He's still dinking around doing nothing. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I would have rather seen Del Rio stay on Smackdown. Friday Night seemed to feel like Del Rio's show anymore. I realize it makes sense because Del Rio's star is rising and everyone sees Raw as the "A" Show. The main event isn't much of a main event with Mark Henry involved. Mark Henry, R-Truth and Big Zeke are all heels, I'm just saying. The 6 man tag was pretty good though. The turn by Henry makes zero sense and I hope it doesn't lead to anything with Christian. He's got bigger things to do. As I mentioned, Cena being drafted back to Raw was pretty lame. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>WWE has that supplemental draft coming up on Tuesday. You can expect several under card wrestlers moving in that draft. I hope guys like McIntryre and Dibiase get a chance to show they can become stars on a different show. They need to first be put in front of our eyes. If you need more wrestling be sure to check out Showstoppers on <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/">BBSD</a> every Wednesday. You can follow me on Twitter @mccall316 or email me <a href="mailto:jcall@bigbadsportsdaddy.com">jcall@bigbadsportsdaddy.com</a>. I will come back later in the week for my Extreme Rules picks. Stunner for everyone!</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>J Call</div>J-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-55048421774289617132011-04-24T18:37:00.008-05:002011-04-24T19:49:26.817-05:00Raw Draft Preview<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E9I1rparGj0/TbTBZvRG4QI/AAAAAAAAAD0/sG_tC9F27-g/s1600/wwe-divas.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 203px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599312884657479938" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E9I1rparGj0/TbTBZvRG4QI/AAAAAAAAAD0/sG_tC9F27-g/s320/wwe-divas.jpg" /></a> It's time to shake things up a bit. At least according to Vincent Kennedy McMahon. WWE announced a few weeks ago abruptly the draft will return and it will this Monday Night on Raw. The draft has always benefited Smackdown with adding wrestlers but Raw usually gets one big name. The mid carders are always the ones who benefit the most. A guy that is rarely used on Raw, heads to Smackdown and becomes something. For example, Cody Rhodes looked to be an outcast after Wrestlemania 26. He was shipped to Smackdown, became "Dashing", lost the moniker and is having a great story with Rey. I didn't think Dibiase would have been the man to get buried once Legacy broke up. I see a lot of moves going to be made on Monday. I hope some of these moves help the undercard get recognized for their work. Smackdown should get one big name to replace Edge and hopefully a few more wrestlers. Here's a list and explanation of who I would like to see move to both shows.<br /><br /><br /><div><br /><div>S<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-I6U_x06dkws/TbTAegtyjSI/AAAAAAAAADs/qEWblj1Myew/s1600/Raw%2BDraft.jpg"></a>mackdown</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Ted Dibiase Jr.- He has to head to Smackdown. Teddy has plenty of potential and is a solid in ring worker. His mic skills are not great but on Smackdown it wouldn't show as much. In fact, he could be given a mic once in a while just to help his character. He's stale on Raw. Smackdown came up with "Dashing" for Cody Rhodes so I would think they could help Teddy. I would even turn him into a good guy. </div><br /><br /><div>Zach Ryder- Long Island Ice Z has enough charisma that his character should be making it on Raw. If you haven't seen them, Ryder has some solid Youtube hits that are actually funny and unique. He's still very young so he has time to grow. Zach could use a change of scenery and not be used all the time on "Superstars". This kid could go far and I can see an IC title shot if he moves to Smackdown.</div><br /><br /><div>Daniel Bryan- Why would I want him to move to Smackdown? He's a wrestler. Smackdown is more of a wrestling show. It's a perfect match. I know Bryan should have gotten the chance to shine at Wrestlemania with Sheamus. It's unfortunate. Bryan could easily be in the semi main event at the end of the first hour of Smackdown providing a 10-15 minute match. Bryan probably won't get to main event or get a chance at the World Heavyweight Championship. Smackdown will give Bryan a place to do what he does best and that's wrestle.</div><br /><br /><div>Sheamus- Fun, how I mention Bryan and then have his opponent coming with him to Friday Night. My reasoning is simple, Smackdown only has 1 main heel character going after the WHC, Albert Del Rio. I don't mind Sheamus wearing the U.S. title on Raw since that made him relevant since the WWE title picture is full. On Smackdown, the Irish Ghost can come over and jump right into the main event scene.<br /></div><br /><div>Randy Orton- The whole left by Edge is to big for just Christian to fill. I believe Christian should get the opportunity to wear the World Title sometime this year. By adding Sheamus and Orton, you can have 4 top guys going after the title and mix up the story lines. Orton has been in the best feud on Raw with CM Punk. Randy deserves to be in the title picture and he won't get that chance on Raw. He will on Smackdown and the Viper can easily change from face to heel and heel to face.<br /></div><br /><div>Raw<br /></div><br /><div>Drew McIntyre- There is no guarantee a change of shows will do someone good. We are all hoping it will for "our" guy/s. Well Drew is one of my guys. I like this kid a lot. He has a good look, great finisher and his entrance music is very recognizable. He was named 'The Chosen One' by Vinnie Mac and hasn't done anything with it. A move to Monday Night where he can be used in the mid-carder title picture would be perfect. I would love to see him and Sin Cara compete in a few matches. </div><br /><br /><div>Wade Barrett- It only makes sense if Sheamus goes to Smackdown, the IC title comes to Raw. I realize it's only been a few months since Barrett had a 100 chairs fall on him by Cena and he was forced to leave Raw. The Corre is lame and needs to break up. Barrett made his name on Raw and he should try and extract some revenge on Punk and the Nexus. I'm not saying Barrett should turn face. All I am saying is Wade should beat down the Nexus and Punk. I don't see fans cheering Barrett as his character is brutal and malicious. Wade and Morrison sounds like a good story.</div><br /><br /><div>Jack Swagger- The All American American American needs a face turn at Extreme Rules. If he does that and moves to Raw, BAM, fresh start. With Barrett and McIntyre coming over, Raw needs at least one face and Swagger can fit the bill. Raw has always had more characters and less focus on wrestling, Swagger needs more time to talk and can do that on Raw. He's a good wrestler so that's not his problem. Raw can help him with his character issue. </div><br /><br /><div>I'm sure the WWE will throw in a few more curveballs during the Draft episode. I didn't mention the Divas either. I doubt Kong will show up this week but it would be nice to know what show she is going to be on. If Del Rio or Miz move, that will be shocking. Raw should be interesting but it might feel thrown together. The writers have had a few weeks to prepare. I hope it's a good show and some of the moves benefit those being buried. Let's see how much the WWE decides to shake things up. Be sure to come back Monday night after Raw for the Raw blog. You can also hit me up on twitter @mccall316 during Raw as I am always on there as well. The show was actually done about 4 hours prior to hitting my television set. Even on tape, Raw broadcasting from overseas is special. The crowds over there are different but in a really good way. They are sometimes much better than the crowds in the states. They don't see WWE stars as often, so they make the atmosphere special. The pops are a little louder, the boos are louder and they usually stand up for big moments. However, Raw probably won't give the UK fans a shocking big moment. A lot of people are upset R-Truth is in the main event at Extreme Rules, they need to shut up after Raw. <br /><p>The John Morrison R-Truth promo was a bit awkward. The whole thing started with talking about Truth not being in shape. That is about as week as a feud starting over a cup of coffee being spilled on someone. They were just creepy on the mic together. They are friends but weren't friendly and the crowd was dead. I guess Trish Stratus shoulder wasn't that cold. Morriso<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uhNQRUi485k/TazyKT75VPI/AAAAAAAAADk/j7WCOYgAvbg/s1600/R-truth.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 315px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 315px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5597114695878792434" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uhNQRUi485k/TazyKT75VPI/AAAAAAAAADk/j7WCOYgAvbg/s320/R-truth.jpg" /></a>n was getting all the heat in the backstage and now he's in the main event. I am glad Truth is going to be a heel. The rap gimmick needed to end a while ago. The entire turn took way to long on Raw. I felt the segment should have finished 5 minutes before it did. Still, Truth is a heel and has some relevance. The WWE was very PG with Truth smoking a cigarette live on television. All in all, great heel turn.</p>Ziggler changed his hair and not for the better. I liked Ziggler with the blond hair. I know it seems irrelevant, hair color doesn't make the man. I don't know, Ziggler is with Vickie and you would have to be pretty stupid to stick with her. He looks similar to everyone else now. Bourne and Ziggler, in limited minutes, had a good match. Dolph is a stud and I continue to sing his praises. I hope Truth heads to Smackdown and Ziggler can be pushed. He was in a match at Wrestlemania and since has taken a backseat. WWE could easily put the U.S. title on him and let Sheamus head to Smackdown. The other problem on both Raw and Smackdown is the lack of faces. The good guys are being over run by bad guys. Raw has Orton, Cena, Sin Cara and Morrison in the spotlight. I like Evan Bourne but he's not a big name face and neither is Daniel Bryan. I guess that is why Morrison is in the main event. They need a big face and Morrison will hopefully fill the role. <br /><p>As I pointed out in the opening paragraph, UK fans and foreign fans in general do it better than most American crowds. Miz being booed out of the building proved my point. Miz never gets that type of reaction anywhere else. I realize Miz is in a feud with Cena, who gets booed excessively in the States. You can boo them both. Hell, scream your ass off for Morrison, he's due. I just don't understand why you boo Cena and cheer Miz. I just don't give a crap for either of them. I will root for Morrison but we know Miz will win. Extreme Rules is selling me by adding Christian in the main event with Del Rio. I love Christian and want to see him win the big one. However, Del Rio should win at Extreme Rules. I know you're pissed. Calm down because I have a rational concept. Smackdown has been ran by faces with the World Heavyweight Championship since around last summer. Kane held the title until Edge took it at TLC. It's time for Friday night to be run by a heel. Christian is due, hell he has been due for a big title for about 2 years. If you have Christian chase for 4 months, Summerslam could be the big moment all the peeps are waiting for. Edge could return to be a special guest ref, Del Rio flips the hell out and Christian manages to finally win the big one. His World Title moment would be very similar to Jeff Hardy winning his first WHC at Armageddon 2008. </p><br /><p>The tag match was fantastic. Sin Cara is amazing to watch. He did botch a few spots a week ago but tonight, he was near perfect. The dirt sheets reported WWE was down on Sin Cara after his match with Primo. Well I think WWE trusts him a bit when he is put in a tag team match with John Cena. He overshot the moonsault and it's going to take time for the wrestlers to adapt to Cara and vice versa. Cara is still showing what he can do. The WWE is putting him in bigger matches but he would better be suited with guys like Evan, Primo and Daniel Bryan. For now, I'm happy he's getting opportunities. </p><br /><p>I felt bad for Eve which is why she was my photo at the top of the blog. Bellas are worthless and Eve gets the victory. Meanwhile, Awesome Kong was shown again this time snapping legs off a brunette. I guess no one will be safe. The rumor has it, Kong's WWE name will be Kharma. Kharma is a bitch and she will destroy everyone. I just hope she destroys all the barbie dolls then moves on to real competition like Gail Kim, yes Kim look it up on Youtube if you don't believe me, Natalya and Phoenix. The Diva title has an opportunity to finally becomes important for the first time since Trish Stratus.</p><br /><p>Michael Cole getting off the headset was great. My ears stopped bleeding as Ross and King were the only ones on the mic. I hated the entire segment. Cole has just gotten to the point of annoyance passed Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and the Jersey Shore combined. It's time for him to get his ass handed to him at Extreme Rules. I was really hoping for Swagger to turn face. I guess that's not happening for a while. To bad, I wanted to root for a fellow Sooner.</p><br /><p>I actually enjoyed the Sheamus Santino match. The Irish Ghost shouldn't miss an episode. He just needs a real story. Daniel Bryan hasn't done anything since 3 weeks prior to Wrestlemania. WWE already hosed us on not getting the match on the Mania card. Now, Daniel Bryan, who is extremely talented, gets to do nothing. You piss me off sometimes WWE. It's not rocket science. It's to damn late for a rematch to be set back up for the next pay per view. They could make it up to us by giving them a 20 minute contest on Raw for free. That's to easy. </p><br /><p>I was happy to see Randy Orton and Punk given plenty of time to have their main event. The broadcast on TV made it sound like Orton got the biggest pop of the night. Say what you want about how it was something we saw at Wrestlemania, it was damn good. Randy and Punk helped revive me in the broadcast because I was bored. The only thing I want to see is Orton getting help against Nexus. Once again, I bring up Daniel Bryan. If the WWE wants to build a new star, add Daniel Bryan to this story and have Orton feud with Mason Ryan, Daniel with Punk. I think we can all agree Bryan and Punk would be a blast to see. Punk should have gotten the upper hand tonight with a GTS to end. Other than that, I was pretty happy with how Raw ended.</p><br /><p>The overall show wasn't memorable. WWE hasn't done enough build for Extreme Rules. I'm looking forward to Christian and Del Rio over anything else. Morrison in the main event should quiet some of the critics that were super pissed R-Truth got that spot last week. Somehow, the match will probably end up in a fatal four way as you can't turn Truth heal and then not put him on the pay per view. Is it just me or does the NBA season seem a little too long? With a lockout looming (I'll send my check to you Mr. Stern), maybe the NBA can make the season shorter and the playoffs back to the format of 5-7-7-7. The first round won't be over until late May. The NBA certainly has had one of the best seasons in over a decade. This year there was a lot of story lines, big trades and less injuries to the main players in the league. The Playoffs seem to continue the trend of story lines as there has potential for several upsets. America has a team to back and I'm not talking the Mavericks. I think we can all agree, if you're not a Heat fan, Go Sixers! I'm looking forward to a great postseason. Who is going to win? Well, if the past serves me the same as my wrestling picks, bet the opposite of what I tell you from here on. I must tell you, not tooting my horn, I did have the Packers in the Super Bowl in my NFL preview. Everyone seems to like one older team and a young squad to make the Finals. Before we get there, we have to dissect how those two teams will make the Finals. <br /><div></div><br /><p>Eastern Conference </p><br /><p>Chicago Bulls vs. Indiana Pacers</p><br /><p>No one can match the stellar play of Derrick Rose. It's a fact. Rose is the MVP of the league. He has asserted himself as the best point guard in the league. The other thing the Bulls have going for them is a lot of size. Luol Deng plays big for a small forward grabbing close to 6 boards a night. Carlos Boozer isn't the best post defender but when you add Joakim Noah behind him, the two are quit the pair. Omer Asik also contributes in small doses off the bench. Indiana is playing well and I like Darren Collison. I don't love him. The Bulls won't let their guard down with Thibodeau. Bulls in a sweep.</p><br /><p>Atlanta Hawks vs. Orlando Magic</p><br /><p>The real surprise to this match up is Atlanta won 3 out of 4 during the regular season. You figure with Orlando's size and outside shooting, Atlanta wouldn't be able to keep up. In fact, I felt the Hawks were regressing a bit even with such a talented roster. The only real problem I have with the Hawks is Joe Johnsons' contract. That is not a reflection of anything on the court, I just had to say it because it's ridiculous. The key is Howard staying out of foul trouble. If Al Horford and Jason Collins can beat up on Dwight and get a few cheap fouls, it will throw him off his game. Howard can't be getting T'd up and keep his composure. The wild factor is Turkoglu. He has to find his offense in order for the Magic to move on. The Hawks have to run at a slower pace. Josh Smith is a nightmare for Orlando. He averaged a double double against them in the 4 regular season games. Most people are picking Orlando to win in a long series. I'm going the opposite, Hawks win in 6.</p><br /><p>Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers.</p><br /><p>America's team is set to do the unthinkable. Okay, probably not. The 76ers have played better ball with Doug Collins as the head coach. Doug has gotten the most of Elton "Off" Brand since uh ever. Andre Iguodala is playing in the perfect role now. He's not the main focus and more of contributor. Andre is a great player and would be a fantastic second star on a championship caliber team. The Heat are rolling now after several speed bumps along the season. Lebron is still the best player in the league. Bosh is their true x-factor though and it has to do with his defense. Chris will almost always get his on the offensive end but needs to step up his interior defense in the playoffs for the Heat to have a run to the finals. Luckily, it's just Elton Brand in round 1. Heat move on in 5.</p><br /><p>New York Knicks vs Boston Celtics</p><br /><p>The old time rivalry is renewed in 2011. By next year, the Knicks will be ready for a moment such as this. They haven't been together with Anthony long enough to win this series. It's been 4 years since KG, Allen and Pierce were united in Boston. Even with the stumbles down the stretch, the old veteran team can get this done. I still can't believe they traded Kendrick Perkins away. Boston needs that kind of heart and grit inside. They lack that now with Kristic. The Celtics better pray to the basketball gods that Shaq reverts back to Shaq of 2000. Kazzam, that's not happening. Boston moves on winning the series in 6 games.</p><br /><p>Western Conference</p><br /><p>San Antonio Spurs vs Memphis Grizzlies</p><br /><p>The talking heads every where point out the fact Popovich played the big 3 against the Suns but rested them against the Lakers Tuesday night. How about the tank-a-plooza job the Griz did trying to avoid the Lakers. They might as well have thrown out a high school junior varsity team. Yes, Manu got hurt in the final game of the regular season in a meaningless game. To Pop's credit, he has 4 rings and knows this team inside and out. The injury happened 2 minutes into the game, not 35. I'd rather have Ginobli hurt in that game than say Game 1 of the series against Memphis and miss the rest of the series. The Spurs need a healthy squad to take down the Griz. The major factor is Tim Duncan though. I realize his minutes are down and he averaged the lowest totals of his career. You should know why all his numbers are down. Timmy is now rested and ready for the playoffs. I expect his numbers across the board rise. Rudy Gay is hurt and won't be back until next season. I think Zach Randolph and the Grizz steal a couple of victories. In the end, experience will prevail. Spurs in 6.</p><br /><p>Oklahoma City Thunder vs Denver Nuggets</p><br /><p>Since trading Carmelo Anthony, the Denver Nuggets have played better over all team basketball. The Melo-drama is over and the team has flourished. Felton and Gallinari have filled the roles left by Anthony and Billups. The rest of the team seems relieved as does Coach George Karl. The Thunder traded away a quality piece of their young core, Jeff Green. In return, they added the quality of size needed in the playoffs in the aforementioned Kendrick Perkins. Without Anthony, Denver doesn't have the scoring option to match Kevin Durant. How is it possible Durant is underrated? He's the best young player in the league. The focus this year was Blake Griffin and the 8,000 dunks. I hope you don't read that wrong because I love Blake. If I were to start a franchise though, I'd be picking Durant before Griffin. The Thunder are poised for a long run starting with the dismantling of the Nuggets. Thunder take the series in 5 games.</p><br /><p>Dallas Mavericks vs. Portland Trail Blazers</p><br /><p>The Portland Trail Blazers were another team who didn't sit around and watch all the moves. They made them. Adding Gerald Wallace was a brilliant move since Brandon Roy's knees are an uncertainty. Wallace seems to be getting more comfortable in their offense, averaging 19 points the last 10 games. Meanwhile, for all the crap that spews out of Mark Cuban's mouth, the Mavericks didn't do a whole lot this year. They added Peja "don't ask me to play any defense" Stojakovic and Corey Brewer but not in trades. I do like Brewer and think he's a good player. He needs a long term home and a coach that believes in him. Tyson Chandler's career has been salvaged from the dumpster in Dallas. He stayed relatively healthy and had a good season. Dirk was Dirk doing Dirk things. He's so consistent. The regular season series tied at 2 games. I expect a long hard fought series. The Mavs fail in the first round. Blazers in 6.</p><br /><p>Los Angeles Lakers vs New Orleans Hornets</p><br /><p>Phil and Kobe should be very happy playing the Hornets. Seriously, if Memphis was completely healthy, they would have been a nightmare. The Hornets don't have the size to contain Pau and Bynum. Kobe and company are primed for the playoffs even if they struggled to finish the season strong. People tend to forget the Lakers won 18 of 19 after the All-Star break. LA should have a very easy time taking down Chris Paul and the Hornets. Paul get the hell out of there as fast as you can. The Hornets are going down. I predict they missed the playoffs next season. The Lakers in a sweep.</p><br /><p>To recap the second round will look like this: </p><br /><p>Eastern Conference</p><br /><p>Bulls vs Hawks, Heat vs. Celtics. I have the Bulls and Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals with Bulls taking it in a 7 game series.</p><br /><p>Western Conference</p><br /><p>Spurs vs Thunder, Lakers vs Blazers. The Thunder will upset the Spurs (my heart is broken) and the Lakers will take down the Blazers. In the Western Finals, Lakers beat the Thunder in a 7 game series.</p><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YN2Yt0I0-kw/Taho4LlEHzI/AAAAAAAAADM/Ha7gfNx-Bds/s1600/Magic%2Band%2BMJ.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 319px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5595837851398053682" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YN2Yt0I0-kw/Taho4LlEHzI/AAAAAAAAADM/Ha7gfNx-Bds/s320/Magic%2Band%2BMJ.jpg" /></a>NBA Finals <br /><p>Bulls vs Lakers. I hope Magic and Jordan show up for a few of these games. They can be shown on the big screen laughing at each other. All the while, Jordan is fuming on the inside because Kobe has a chance to match his ring total of 6. I'm taking the Bulls to oust the defending champions. Bulls in 7 and a changing of the guard in the NBA. The future is now for these young kids. The lockout will stall their development which is unfortunate.</p><br /><p>J Call</p></div>J-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-80980905743170927842011-04-12T14:26:00.005-05:002011-04-12T16:51:18.600-05:00On This Day<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OokGpb6b3QU/TaTIk92r8YI/AAAAAAAAADE/VbnJmueZVw4/s1600/Edge%2Band%2BLita.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 247px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594817174505779586" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OokGpb6b3QU/TaTIk92r8YI/AAAAAAAAADE/VbnJmueZVw4/s320/Edge%2Band%2BLita.jpg" /></a> On this day I see clearly that professional wrestling lost one of the greatest in ring workers and personalities I've seen in my lifetime. I wasn't going to write anything about Edge because I figured everything was a work. Isn't it always in wrestling? I come to find out Edge is really retiring. He has made a large impact on the industry and really my life. Edge has been one of those guys that when I heard the music, I knew I was going to see a good match. I'm sure there are a ton of blogs on Edge today. This is going to be one of them as I list ten in no particular order of my favorite matches in Edge's career. <br /><p></p><br /><p>10) Summerslam 2008 Edge vs. The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell Match. </p><br /><p><span style="font-size:+0;"></span>This feud was one of several that deserved such a send off and Edge and Taker delivered. The Undertaker's returns are diluted now but in this story it felt special. Edge played it off well and was sent to hell at the end of the match. Hell in a Cell delivered the final blow to one of Edge's best feuds. </p><br /><p>9) Unforgiven 2006 John Cena vs. Edge for the WWE Title in a TLC Match</p><br /><p>The match was held in Edge's backyard Toronto, Ontario Canada. Cena and Edge had a long program and this was the kicker. Cena was in a lose lose because of the hot Canada crowd. I loved the finish with Edge going through two tables off an FU. Only a handful of people have made Cena look great and Edge is one of them. </p><br /><p>8) Vengence 2004 Randy Orton vs. Edge for the Intercontinental Championship</p><br /><p>No need for weapons, ladders or a cage in this classic one on one contest. Edge and Orton wrestled in a beautiful match. They started slow with basic mat wrestling, worked towards hot spots and ended with a surprise finish. Orton wasn't elevated to the big level yet but Edge helped him. Even better is once Orton was up to the main event level, Rated RKO teamed up.</p><br /><p>7) Summerslam 2000 TLC Edge & Christian vs. The Hardyz vs The Dudleys</p><br /><p>The three teams that lifted tag teams to heights we will never see again. These guys did everything in this match. The first of many TLC matches for Edge and the peak of tag team gold. Wrestling will never duplicate what these three teams did.</p><br /><p>6) Wrestlemania 22 Mick Foley vs. Edge</p><br /><p>OH MY GOD! This match was the first and probably the only time the WWE allowed a flaming table at Wrestlemania. Foley brought it all out in Edge and vice versa. This was my favorite hardcore match in the WWE era. I loved the story, the match and the swerve later on teaming with Foley. My favorite moment of the match was the flip over the top with Lita on Foley's back. HBK and Vince maybe remembered more from fans but I feel Edge and Mick stole the show.</p><br /><p>5) Wrestlemania 24 Edge vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Champion</p><br /><p>I heard rumors that Edge didn't particularly care for this match. I enjoyed this match. Edge and The Undertaker always felt special and some certain chemistry and I felt that in this contest. They both worked hard to put on a great show. Edge was in the main event for a reason. He's always dedicated and the fact he didn't feel this match was that good, shows his devotion. Edge deserved a few more spots on the main event at Wrestlemania. I guess stealing the show a few times means more.</p><br /><p>Edge shocks the world. I couldn't put Cena and Edge at New Year's Revolution on the list because it was barely a match. Edge won his first championship and kicked started the Money in the Bank guarantee. Since then, everyone who has cashed in has won. But the first is always the most special and that was Edge's win over Cena. </p><br /><p>4) Raw January 16th, 2006 Edge vs. Ric Flair TLC Match for the WWE Championship</p><br /><p>Wooooo! I remember Flair mentioning this match in his Hall of Fame speech. Edge called the match, took a man who never worked in a ladder match and made it such a beautiful match. The story built in the match was paced so well. Edge took a lot of the bumps but to Flair's credit, he held his own. I couldn't believe they even made this match. At the end, I couldn't believe how good it was. That's a credit to both competitors.</p><br /><p>3) Wrestlemania 2000 Tables Trio Tag Edge & Christian vs. Hardyz vs Dudleys</p><br /><p>I had to put this on the list. The finish alone with Edge and Christian standing on a table scaffold was creative as hell. Edge and Christian were recognized as masters of the ladder shortly afterward. This match proved it. </p><br /><p>2) No Mercy 1999 Tag Ladder Match Edge & Christian vs. Hardy Boyz</p><br /><p>Before there were 5 second posses, TLC, spears, Rated R and single's success, there was the Terri Runnels. I know seems crazy. Many fans around my age (I'm 27 for those who care) always say HBK and Razor revolutionized the Ladder match. If they revolutionized the Ladder, then what ized word can you come up with for what these two teams did? Nobody looks at ladder matches the same way after what 4 men did on October 17th, 1999. This ladder match was the only one Edge & Christian lost too. Incredible.</p><br /><p>1) Wrestlemania XVII TLC II Edge & Christian vs. Hardyz vs. Dudleys</p><br /><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tADQsFLEvf4/TaTHBA2qyeI/AAAAAAAAAC8/AkMmoh7QvVc/s1600/Edge%2BSpears%2BJeff.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 182px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594815457324091874" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tADQsFLEvf4/TaTHBA2qyeI/AAAAAAAAAC8/AkMmoh7QvVc/s320/Edge%2BSpears%2BJeff.jpg" /></a>Was there ever a doubt that this wasn't going to make this list? As I said in the opening paragraph, these are not in order, but this is my favorite match of Edge's. I know it's a tag match and quite a cop out by me with all the other TLC and Ladder matches already making the list. Tell me something, if you could take one picture of Edge's career what would it be? I would choose the still of Edge taking off on a 20 foot high ladder spearing Jeff Hardy who is dangling off the loop like a cheap ear ring. Anyone who puts an Edge tribute package on Youtube and doesn't have that moment failed. I couldn't let this blog fail without having the best TLC match ever. </div><br /><p>I'm seriously saddened by the retirement of the Rated R Superstar, Edge. I know I sound like a selfish wrestling fan. I am happy he is getting out before he is seriously injured because that would make this even worse. I've come to realize that nothing lasts forever. Bold statement huh? When I was younger watching wrestling I never thought Hogan and Flair would make me feel sad for them because they can't let go. Once the attitude era, I wanted Austin and Rock to never leave my television screen. I never though 'Oh crap these guys aren't going to last forever.' </p><br /><p>Now, fans aren't taking advantage of those sweet moments we get every once in a while. We complain because these moments don't happen all the time. I'm one of them. I complain about lack of direction, new stars and wrestling in the broadcasts. Meanwhile, I look around and see Edge, Austin and HBK are gone and The Rock, HHH and Taker recently came back. Instead of complaining, we should bask in the glory. You never know when this day is their last.</p><br /><p>J Call</p>J-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-72538341299390802352011-04-11T19:09:00.005-05:002011-04-11T22:16:11.729-05:00Raw 4-11<div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JPogfstG3So/TaO1JWqAjzI/AAAAAAAAACs/_lYvY0Xgj1Q/s1600/Bella%2BTwins"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 310px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5594514334429515570" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JPogfstG3So/TaO1JWqAjzI/AAAAAAAAACs/_lYvY0Xgj1Q/s320/Bella%2BTwins" /></a> Raw must shift gears towards Extreme Rules. The card is empty and it's time to set something up. My guess is Cena and Miz will wrestle as will Cena and CM Punk. You know because its fresh and exciting. I hope you felt the sarcasm. WWE seems to play it safe which is why I wrote that preview. The story won't happen and Evan will never make it more than a mid card mechanic. Still, it was something different and I hope you felt it was a good story. We, the fans, scream and let the WWE hear our voices, it's too bad they have headphones on. <br /><div></div><br /><div>WWE needs to pull the trigger on someone new. Whether that person is Morrison, Dibiase, Ziggler, Bryan, Del Rio, Sin Cara or Christian, it's time for someone to get the ball for a while. I'm fine with Miz as the champion. Who is he going to face next pay per view? If it's Cena at Extreme Rules, it has to be someone new soon. Randy Orton has faced Miz and Cena has had several shots. The man with the balls the size of grapefruits might want to use them and trust someone new. That was the whole point of my preview. Listen to us WWE, sometimes we do know what we want. If it has anything to do with The Great Kahli, you aren't listening.</div><br /><p>Before we get to Raw, I have neglected fan mail, (Cheap plug, email me at <a href="mailto:jcall@bigbadsportsdaddy.com">jcall@bigbadsportsdaddy.com</a>) </p><br /><p>I read your Wrestlemania picks and did you suck it up. In all the crapness that was your picks, you forget to mention Chris Jericho as a possibility for Taker at next year's Wrestlemania. What gives?</p><br /><p>Brandon, Texas</p><br /><div>I regret that right after I posted the blog. Chris Jericho slipped my mind. He will be back with the WWE by the summer and I would love to see a long program between Taker and Y2J. My bad. As far as my picks, moving on.</div><br /><div></div><br /><p>How will the WWE keep us interested in The Rock Cena match when it's pretty clear Rock won't be around much longer?</p><br /><div>Jeff, Oklahoma</div><br /><div></div><br /><p>I have no idea. My guess is Cena will win the WWE title within 6 months. He can have the spotlight in a different way. We will forget about the match unless WWE keeps making mention of it every week. If Cena has the WWE title, he's important and faces several competitors. By the Rumble, here comes The People's Champ. Cena loses the title back to the Miz and we move onto the real main event of Wrestlemania 28. </p><br /><p>Well I thought Raw would open up with the WWE champion, even before Cena, Michael Cole had to open Raw. I had a bad feeling 15 seconds into the broadcast. Cena didn't help that feeling. Once again, Cena talked more about something about a year from now than anything current. Thankfully, Orton erases the feeling. I couldn't believe Ziggler and Morrison got a chance to shine in front of Orton and Cena. Truth didn't deserve to be there. I didn't mind the announcement. I mean it was something new, I didn't really understand it. I'm sure by the time the match hits the ring, I will get it.</p>Awesome Kong is finally starting to be shown. The vignette was only a few seconds but it worked. I'm pretty excited to see her beat the whole hell out of every Diva. Meanwhile, in the ring a Bella won the Diva title. I heard crickets chirping. Nobody seemed to care. This title hasn't been on Smackdown for months. The Glamazon and the Amazon seem like a good feud. No, forget that. <br /><p>Sin Cara is simply amazing. This kid is exciting, dazzling and WWE is going to have a hard time keeping him down. The crowd was electric chanting his name. Primo helped by selling Cara. Primo and Cara messed up the finish, recovered nicely and nailed the finish. The only problem is the finish will only work on small guys. He has to come up with something else to work with bigger guys. It's not a knock on him, just true. No matter what, Sin Cara has my interest peaked.</p><br /><p>The whole A.P.P.L.E wasn't the worst thing and hell Santino saying it made it fun. Anything to get Daniel Bryan in the wrestling ring is fine. The Corre winning is good in my book. They have been weak for way too long. They need to win some matches and stay together. I may not like Slater, the rest of the crew have chances. </p><br /><p>It sure felt like Raw turned into the Jerry Springer show before it went to commercial. The crowd chanting 'Jerry Jerry' with JR trying to beat the crap out of Michael Cole. I did like the tease of Swagger turning face. I would like to see that and freshen up his character. The announcement sucks though. I love Jim Ross on a microphone, not in the ring wrestling. He will most likely be in a limited role. Swagger and Lawler should beat the hell out of Cole and then Jim cover him. That's your match right there. </p><br /><p>I thought for sure Edge's announcement was a work until no one came out. If it was a work, normally someone comes out and interrupts. I hope it is a work and Edge returns soon. If it truly is the end of the Rated R Superstar, THANK YOU EDGE! I read later on after the segment on the "dirt sheets", the announcement was a 100% true. I'm sure that is one of the main reasons Edge beat Del Rio at Wrestlemania. </p><br /><p>I was pretty happy Nexus returned. I'm not going to lie because the group needed to come back. The young stars need to be able to get on television and in the ring. I know it drags the Punk Orton thing into Cena/Nexus from last year. I still want the feud to continue and bringing Nexus does just that. Plus, Ziggler won and I'm a huge Dolphan. I was pretty pissed off Truth pinned Ziggler. The win kept Ziggler and Morrison from locking it up, which almost guaranteed Cena was going to win the gauntlet match. I was wrong again. They built up the entire gauntlet match and the Raw GM made a triple threat match instead. The WWE did all that and had a computer make the match in the end. </p><br /><p>Raw left me in a somber mood. I didn't get anywhere close to what I was hoping for on Raw. Edge retired which in itself deserves a whole other blog. The fact that Cena and Miz are wrestling again is exact opposite of what I wrote in my preview blog. I know they added Truth but he doesn't belong. If you replaced Bourne with Truth and tournament to Gaunlet, you have the same scenario I wrote in the Raw preview. Maybe I shouldn't complain that much since I had it all written out just with the wrong guy. I wanted a new guy so I wont complain any longer.</p><br /><p>Time for my cheap plugs and then leave you. I'm not sure what's come over me but I feel WWE needs a little help. Wrestlemania is over and last week, Raw did more for Wrestlemania 28 then Extreme Rules. WWE has to show focus and work on building up a new star. Sin Cara is the man for it on Smackdown. Raw has someone that they don't use correctly. He's mostly a jobber and it makes me sad. He has the talent, sells well and has gotten the chance once last summer with John Cena. Who in the blue hell am I talking about? Evan Bourne and here's how Raw could start his path passed under card status. </p><br /><p>Raw has zero matches made for Extreme Rules and it seems like the show will be close to Wrestlemania part duex. Raw should start with Miz coming down to the ring. He didn't get to a chance to gloat on defeating Cena at Wrestlemania. Miz goes on to talk about beating everyone on Raw from a living legend, The King Jerry Lawler to the megastar John Cena. I have no competition that can match my Awesome-ness. The Raw GM chimes in and as Cole gets booed out of the building, he reads and ugh, I quote, I agree with you Miz. I don't see an official number 1 contender for your WWE championship. That is why I have decided to make a tournament to decide who will face you at Extreme Rules. The tournament is set: Sheamus will take on Evan Bourne, Randy Orton versus CM Punk, John Cena and Alex Riley and Dolph Ziggler faces John Morrison. The crowd goes crazy and sets up something different. </p><br /><p>In the first match, John Cena comes down since A-Ri was in the ring with Miz. Cena pins Riley clean. They show Sheamus in the back basking in the glory competing against Bourne and mocks him. The camera cuts to Bourne walking towards the ring and Miz starts laughing at Bourne. Back from commercial, Sheamus and Bourne make their entrances. They wrestle for a while and Sheamus gets the upper hand. Bourne looks over matched. Daniel Bryan comes out and distracts Sheamus. Bryan still wants his U.S. title back around his waist. Bourne with a school boy and picks up the victory. Bryan and Bourne have a good laugh as the Irish Ghost is pissed. </p><br /><p>Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison have a decent match with Ziggler picking up the victory with a clean win. I know your mad. Hey, if the dirt sheets are correct and Morrison has heat on him, Ziggler winning cleanly is what Vince will want. The final bout of the first round is Randy Orton and CM Punk. This feud has been excellent. They have to extend it until Extreme Rules. Orton and Punk are beating each other up as both men are on the outside. They keep it up until it's a double count out. I know it's lame but it keeps their story going.</p><br /><p>Cena is in the back talking with Bourne telling him he just got a bye into the finals. Cena looks Bourne in the eye and tells him don't listen to anyone else, he deserves to be in the tournament. Cena finishes by saying I'll see you in the finals. Cena goes out and beats Ziggler by an AA. The finals take place on the final segment of Raw. Cena and Bourne have a good back and forth match. Cena is helping sell Bourne as a legit competitor. Cena lifts Bourne up for an AA and the ref gets bumped. He's down and here comes Ziggler. He's pissed for losing to Cena. The ref is down, Ziggler connects with the Zig Zag on Cena and Bourne sees none of it. Bourne gets up and lands Air Bourne (see we kept that until the end as a big spot). Ref staggers over to count 1-2-3. Bourne wins the number 1 contender ship to the WWE title. Miz stands out on the ramp way golf clapping and laughing at his new "competition." The fans are excited as the new underdog overcame the odds (with a little help) and won the tournament.</p><br /><p>Bourne has new life to his character and Raw has a brand new story. The next few weeks, Miz continues to mock Bourne. Evan beats Riley in a one on one match. The week before Extreme Rules, Miz and Ziggler team up to face Cena and Bourne. The match ends with Cena and Ziggler fighting on the outside, Bourne hits a spin kick on Miz and nails Air Bourne for the 3 count. The go home show has Bourne pinning the WWE champion. Holy crap could the under dog actually do it at the pay per view? No of course he can't, but that win on Raw has people wondering. </p><br /><p>Punk and Orton face in a Last Man Standing match, Cena and Ziggler wrestle in a Falls Count Anywhere and Bourne gets his shot at the WWE title match in an Extreme Rules match. Smackdown has the Ladder Match with Del Rio and Edge and probably something crappy with the Corre. Raw sells Extreme Rules. In the end, Miz retains the belt in a competitive match so Bourne still looks strong. If the fans don't buy it, you're out only one pay per view which isn't all bad. This is the time to build someone new and perhaps take it to the Air.</p><br /><p>J Call</p>J-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-11462805163050093552011-04-04T18:20:00.007-05:002011-04-04T22:39:05.892-05:00Raw 4-4<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dzOfWd2VZtQ/TZqN8oGU8II/AAAAAAAAACk/-4ieGGygAeE/s1600/kellykelly.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 130px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591937960029515906" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dzOfWd2VZtQ/TZqN8oGU8II/AAAAAAAAACk/-4ieGGygAeE/s200/kellykelly.jpg" /></a>I sit here typing as a humble WWE blogger. My picks sucked. Luckily, I'm happy the way Wrestlemania went. The WWE did some things correctly and some missed. I read a few summaries and opinions. So what if Mania wasn't perfect? It was still a fine show and I will go into more detail in a few. Raw isn't going to change the direction of WWE. The Rock and Stone Cold is still around while HBK is back home. WWE biggest show is over and now it's time to swallow some leftovers. <br /><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Wrestlemania was a good sh<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-EeJNIT1hSEo/TZqNhI0c1bI/AAAAAAAAACM/WJLWkaiHCBU/s1600/Cena%2BRock%2BBottomed.jpg"></a>ow in my opinion. As I said, there were a few mistak<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tf3ZfEdHODk/TZqN1NIliAI/AAAAAAAAACc/j06FVKVjEPQ/s1600/Cena%2BRock%2BBottomed.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 179px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591937832532150274" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tf3ZfEdHODk/TZqN1NIliAI/AAAAAAAAACc/j06FVKVjEPQ/s320/Cena%2BRock%2BBottomed.jpg" /></a>es. John Morrison and Ziggler didn't even get a chance in the ring. I guess that's better than Sheamus and Bryan being made into a non-title stupid ass battle royal. Dolph and Morrison are the future of the company. I truly believe they will headline a Mania or two in their wrestling career. They certainly didn't get that chance this year. Cole and Lawler were in deed a bigger letdown than Vince and Bret. That went on way too long. Cena's entrance was ridiculous. I could barely make out what the choir was doing. Then he comes out in a confederate flag look-a-like t-shirt. I guess he wanted to even it out since he had an all black choir. Cena is the master at hypocrisy.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The good definitely out weighed the bad. Triple H and The Undertaker brought out the best of wrestling. They provided a story for the ages. I was on the edge of my seat after the 3rd pedigree and nearly fell off my chair when Trips hit the tombstone. A lot of my friends didn't care for the finish. I liked the surprise tap out finish. HBK lost back to back years with a tombstone. I speculate maybe they wanted to be different. In the end, incredible match. JR and King were incredible at the table. They were wonderful. Del Rio and Edge didn't make a lot of sense to be an opener. Even if it didn't, the match was still solid. I enjoyed it and especially since Christian didn't turn heel. The Rock was also entertaining but I could have done with the long opener if it gave us an actual United States title match. I give the show a B+. We all judge to harshly on Wrestlemania. This may not have been the greatest, but it's one I will remember for years to come.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Raw opened with the Game. I didn't expect that or Ross at the broadcast table. Triple H finally recognized he fought Taker at Wrestlemania before. That was about 2 months to late. They should have added that on the story. Triple H furthered the line of The Undertaker becoming mortal. Triple H's promo was heart felt and nice. The only problem I have is Triple H saying he will be waiting. I hope he's not waiting another year. The Undertaker needs a new opponent. No more tries for anyone old at Wrestlemania. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The entire Michael Cole persona has lasted way to long. I thought for sure Wrestlemania would end it. It should have. Swagger is at least a real wrestler and had an actual wrestling match with Lawler. Deja Vu from Wrestlemania. It wasn't bad. I was hoping for Austin and more stunners. The BBQ thing worked. I just wondered who was going to call Raw afterward.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>We found out Cole was back in his play pen. Raw as far as broadcasting, got much worse. No offense to Booker or Josh, it's just we want JR and King. Cole going in and out of character all night doesn't help a broadcast or other wrestlers. Orton and Rey teaming up to further their respective feuds is a good idea. Both men had great matches at Wrestlemania. Rhodes is really working this new character. I like it since he was never going to be 'over' as Dashing Cody Rhodes. Orton and Rhodes need to have a one on one feud sometime this year. The tag match was very well done. No doubt those two stories head all the way until Extreme Rules.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I will be watching Tough Enough directly following Raw. WWE didn't chose the cast and USA did most of the production value. The show will probably feel like the UFC show on Spike. It should be fun. I know a few of them were on the Independent circuit. The segment made me want to see Stone Cold wrestle again. The crowd has been hot. Miz couldn't do anything with Austin when The Rock and Cena are later. It worked for publicizing Tough Enough and anytime Austin is on is good in my book. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Del Rio's destiny is apparently to be built up for months to lose at Wrestlemania. I feel bad for Evan Bourne. He's one talented individual and seems to float around. Bourne should be in a feud with Daniel Bryan for wrestling sake. Del Rio is going off on a mean streak. He's developing an even more vial character. I actually want to see him get the World title soon. I'm not tired of Edge, Del Rio deserves it. Extreme Rules will be some sort of rematch. If I were to bet, I'm not and am terrible at predictions, I'd go with a Ladder match.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I'm all for anything that keeps Ziggler and Morrison in a feud together. I don't care how it's done, these two need to be in some sort of a gimmick match at Extreme Rules. Morrison and Ziggler tripled their in ring minutes from Wrestlemania. I continue to say they are the future. I believe they are. Ziggler is easily the best seller in WWE. Morrison has everything you can ask for in a star. This feud needs to last a while so the fans can finally get a chance to see into their crystal ball. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Finally, Sheamus and Bryan got their opportunity. That should have been the Wrestlemania opener. They proved with little time to have a good match. They could have had another 7 minutes at Wrestlemania and gave us a really good match. Sin Cara is going to be a lot of fun to watch. Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and Sin Cara can have a hell of a triple threat match sometime. Sin Cara did a little and meant a lot. Some times less is more. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The Rock and Cena has felt special these past weeks. One thing I agree with Cena, I want to see Cena and The Rock. I just want to see The Rock win. I guess we will see it in a year. How the hell can this wait another year? Look, I want to see the match. I can't see how it can hold up for an entire year. What happens if Cena gets hurt? It is a match that should be on a Wrestlemania card. I agree with that. The second best thing is Summerslam. Summerslam is big enough for Rock and Cena. The Corre was a good idea to finish if they actually got an upper hand. Instead, they were fodder. I should be pumped, I can't though when I know the match is 364 days away.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Raw was a good show. I liked the in ring battles. Raw provided some good wrestling entertainment. The tag match with Punk/Rhodes and Rey/Orton was damn good. Sheamus and Bryan got what they should have gotten Sunday night. WWE obviously is booking and planning for Wrestlemania XXVIII. How about a little less planning for next year's Mania and a little more planning the here and now. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Be sure to check out <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/Radio.aspx?ShowStoppers">ShowStoppers</a> on Wednesday now on <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/">BBSD</a>. The WWE fell short for weeks until Monday. Raw did exactly what its purpose was and that is to get me ready for this Sunday. I don't remember a better go home show ever. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit. Stone Cold did the beer truck promo the Raw before Wrestlemania XV. Still, Monday did its job and I am ready for the biggest wrestling show of the year. I expect some twists, turns and swerves on Sunday. A few I want to see and one I hope doesn't happen. I know it is early to talk about Wrestlemania 28 since I'm just getting to Mania 27 picks. The WWE prepares for next years Mania right after so I thought I would help out. <br /><div></div><br /><div>In the last 3 years, The Undertaker has wrestled HBK twice and HHH this year. Who the hell is left for Taker? I read some reports that Taker was going to wrestle Wade Barrett this year. Of course, then 2-21-11 was going to be Sting and Taker. We know that was all smoke and mirrors now. Maybe Barrett was a lie and the WWE always knew Triple H was going to face Taker. That may never be solved. The real problem is who can take Triple H spot next year and be victim number 20?</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The current roster only has two studs and one of them has already faced Undertaker. Randy Orton won't be getting a rematch against Taker anytime soon. They wrestled at Wrestlemania 21 in a phenomenal contest. John Cena on the other hand is a different story. Cena is the only mega star left the WWE has yet to use in the streak. I think it could happen. If WWE really wanted to get Cena heel, have him beat Taker and do it by cheating. WWE would have a riot on their hands. I look at Cena versus Taker the same way as Austin vs. Taker. It's not going to happen. The payoff isn't there. In all the years of the streak, Taker has only faced 2 mega stars, HBK and HHH. Edge, Orton and Batista aren't quite up to that level. Cena is a likely candidate but I don't see it. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Miz might be an option. He's certainly proved he can deliver during this Rock/Cena/Miz triangle mess. Miz has looked, played and acted like a main event player. The build would have to be perfect in order for fans to buy Wrestlemania for that match. Miz could team up with the owner Vincent Kennedy McMahon to help the fans believe he has a shot. Hell, if Vince weren't rising past 60, he could end up being an option. I'm kind of surprised that never happened.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Wade Barrett has a chance for redemption. Again, it's all about the story. The story would have worked this year. Nexus buried Taker and the set up was there. To be able to replicate that for next year may be difficult. Wade would have to "injure" Taker or something to that affect. It seems like the current roster may not have the star. What about the guy hosting this years Wrestlemania?</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The People's Champ says he is going to stick around forever. I'm sure forever means a few months after Wrestlemania. He has said he would wrestle again. Okay, take on Cena at Summerslam in August and create some magic with The Deadman. I would love this match and I don't care who the bad guy is. They would be a lot like Triple H and HBK where neither were a heel. The Rock would sell tickets, as he is this year. This is a pipe dream but then again so is this next guy.</div><br /><div></div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4SQ4RIB88TY/TZPexRwTc6I/AAAAAAAAACE/NEsVyv66H4U/s1600/Kurt%2BAngle.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 248px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5590056500657877922" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4SQ4RIB88TY/TZPexRwTc6I/AAAAAAAAACE/NEsVyv66H4U/s320/Kurt%2BAngle.jpg" /></a> My pick on a 'No chance in hell but a fan can dream' vote for The Undertaker's opponent at Wrestlemania 28 is Kurt Angle. What! I said Kurt Angle! I am aware Angle is currently on the TNA roster. I know he has said he is loyal to TNA. He has also said he doesn't want to work full time once his contract ends this summer. The Olympic Gold medalist would be hard pressed to turn down an offer from the WWE if they said we want you to face The Undertaker. That is a huge vote of confidence in Angle. If Angle were to sign a contract in say October, I wouldn't reveal him until the Royal Rumble. Sure it's a hot shot angle (pun intended) but it would work. Kurt would eliminate Taker and brawl it on the outside. Angle would come through the crowd as opposed to be one of the participants. Security gets Angle and Taker separated. The promo begins on Friday Night Smackdown with The Undertaker saying Angle is a dead man. He wanted one more shot at Wrestlemania for the world title. Angle comes to the ring with a huge smile on his face. He starts talking about how all he ever hears about around this time is the streak. The rest writes itself. Angle and The Undertaker would rock. I would love to see it. <br /><div></div><br /><div>The Corre vs. The Freaks er Kozlov, Santino, Kane, Show</div><br /><div>This match should be Corre vs. Show, Kane and Kofi. They take the belt off Kofi and keep him off the card. I hate it. Anyway, Corre is wasting away. I like Barrett and Gabriel. The Gabriel Slater tag team has a decent future. I'm not into this match at all. I thought it was funny on Raw with everyone doing the trumpet thing. That's the only thing I remember of this entire story. The Corre win.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Rey Mysterio vs Cody Rhodes</div><br /><div>This match has great potential. I loved the build. Dusty Rhodes was involved, Cody has been much darker and Rey always plays his role well. Rey and Cody deserve at least 15 minutes of in ring time. I wouldn't be surprised if the American Dream tries to help his son. I will watch this match with complete focus to see if Rhodes can handle the spotlight and bring a great match. I think he will. In the end, dial it up R-E-Y with the win.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>United States Championship Match</div><br /><div>Sheamus (c) vs. Daniel Bryan</div><br /><div>The match that should kick off Wrestlemania. The build hasn't been all there. I hated the squash match with Sheamus and Bourne. Both men have a bright future in the WWE. I said it in my Raw blog that these two can provide a spark and get the crowd involved from the start of Wrestlemania. I love this match and the competitors. I hope they give me what I want, a back and forth contest. I think they will and the Irish Ghost steals a victory.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Jerry The King Lawler vs. Michael Cole w/Swagger in his corner and Stone Cold as the ref</div><br /><div>This could go one way, which is a beer bash and Lawler beating the crap out of Cole from the bell, or the other way, which is Hart/Vince from last year. I don't think there is much middle ground. Steve hits a stunner or 12 and Lawler wins. The match is better than last years Hart vs. Vince.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Randy Orton vs. CM Punk</div><br /><div>A match with show stealing potential. These two have had the best overall story on Raw. WWE actually used the history to add a different flavor. Nexus members have been gone for quite a while, we might see one of them return to help Punk. They may hold that off for Raw. I think the story continues. I'm torn but I'll say Punk gets the victory.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Dolph Ziggler and LayCool vs. John Morrison, Trish Stratus and Jersey Whore</div><br /><div>Celebrities don't normally lose. In fact, I'm not sure if they ever have. The only thing I can hope for is a lot of Ziggler Morrison and less the Divas. They are the future and should get a shot to shine. Morrison and crew take down the heels. Although, I will be rooting for Ziggler.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>World Heavyweight Championship</div><br /><div>Edge (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio</div><br /><div>It is Del RRRRRRio's destiny to win the World heavyweight championship at Wrestlemania. I sound like a broken record but don't turn Christian heel. He shouldn't be a heel. I believe this is a sure bet, Del Rio will be the World Heavyweight Champion. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>WWE Title Match</div><br /><div>Miz (c) vs. John Cena</div><br /><div>How does Rock get involved? He is definitely going to be in the match some way, shape or form. WWE has used a lot of time to build him up with Cena and Miz. He has to do something. I just don't know what that is. If he is going wrestle, he could cost Cena the match. Miz would get a major boast if he walks out with the belt. For some reason, the picture of Cena raising the WWE title and then receiving a Rock Bottom is in my mind. That's what I will go with. Cena wins.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The Undertaker vs. Triple H</div><br /><div>I do think this match will end Wrestlemania. Raw brought me back into this story. I was drifting away. Shawn Michaels made be in the mix for an appearance during the match. He's done wrestling though so where would the payoff be if he cost Triple H? There isn't one. I've yelled it on ShowStoppers, I've wrote it several times and I am telling you right now, The Streak will never die. Triple H and HBK can do anything in this match but the outcome will remain. I hope I'm wrong because I smell a disappointment in this match. 19-0 will happen on Sunday. Enjoy the festivities with your buddies. No wrestling fan deserves to be alone on Sunday night. Get your ass to a party or create one. This is WRESTLEMANIA!</div><br /><div>J Call</div></div>J-Callhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08312486235350541606noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5247974896901221230.post-26973453133900000672011-03-28T18:37:00.005-05:002011-03-28T22:29:54.012-05:00Raw 3-28<div><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 214px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589338330916188338" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-sZgBsvgNf4g/TZFRmS-78LI/AAAAAAAAABk/yQUELXXPSls/s320/Maryse.jpg" />We are 6 days away from the grand daddy of them all, Wrestlemania. I can't wait. I've been a little disappointed about the Taker/HHH story or lack of story. The rest of the card seems set except perhaps adding Corre vs. Show/Kane/Kofi. Raw is jam packed with some special guests and big time appearances. Smackdown has already announced a street fight between Del Rio and Christian. I don't think we will get anything that good on Raw. I believe tonight will be all about Rock/Cena/Miz. I was pumped all day to witness a Raw full of attitude. The go home Raw has to peak more interest to make sure we are all ready to purchase Wrestlemania. <br /><div></div><br /><div>The Chicago Made Punk (You see CM or it could be Chick Magnet) was likely to get a giant cheer tonight from his fellow Chicagoians or whatever they are called. I've liked the Orton/Punk feud. This is what Punk needed to do, grab a mic and do his thing. He got the fans to turn on him somewhat from the start of the promo. I've heard fans complain that Orton is just playing the roll of Cena. I disagree for a few reasons. One, I like Orton, dislike Cena. The match between Orton and Punk will be much better than anything Cena can do. The added element of an injury is great. Orton is now a wounded animal and if he loses at Wrestlemania, it doesn't look as bad. I wonder if any Nexus member returns.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I was hoping for a 5 second pose. Edge and Christian were scheduled to be in a tag on Smackdown a few weeks ago but never happened. I love both these guys. I think it would be a dumb idea to turn Christian heel at Wrestlemania and cost Edge the WHC. Christian plays the better good guy. Edge's character is a more natural bad guy. I hope it's as simple as keeping both good for now and we get a Triple Threat at the next pay per view, whatever the hell WWE is calling it. Since there will be Smackdown, I expect Edge to get the best of Del Rio then. I love Del Rio's ruthless aggression. They are going to have a great match at Wrestlemania.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Sin Cara wrestled over the weekend against Primo. The match was amazing. In fact, I was nice enough to give you the link <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dg18QrQTems">by clicking here</a>. I tried to embed it but didn't work. The flip off the top is nuts. I've daydreamed about a Bourne/Sin Cara match already. Wow that might turn some heads.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I guess Kofi won't get on the Wrestlemania card. I'm not saying Santino and Kozlov don't deserve to be on the card. They just haven't even wrestled Corre in weeks. Kofi lost his title on Friday night and won't get an opportunity to win it back. That is lazy writing and typical for WWE. Kofi deserves either a rematch or on the card. I will admit I laughed my ass off for the celebrating dance off. Kane does have a sense of humor. You can add humor to the broadcast in easy ways but they have to be funny. That was simple and funny. People's court was uh the complete opposite.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The Undertaker entrance still gives me chills. The bell tolling as Triple H was going to spit was brilliant. Raw certainly stopped as the real Show stopper came out. It was about damn time HBK got involved in the story. I didn't see HBK calling out Triple H during the segment. That was a nice twist. I hope one day they can write a book on The Undertaker. A complete real book and not some fake in character book. It would be awesome. I've read the 2 Jericho books and just finishing up with the Stone Cold Steve Austin book. The Jericho books are real, out of character must read books. The Austin book is a bit of a letdown. Back to the Raw blog, the whole segment was awesome. They brought me back into the story. The only problem I had with the in ring segment was it brough sympathy to Triple H. It made him look like an underdog. As much as I love HBK, he really did make the focus on him. It was a wonderful segment. But creating HHH as this underdog is something I don't like. They both should be made strong. Still, overall I can't complain to much when 3 of the biggest icons in the wrestling industry were standing in the same ring.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Michael Cole nearly got fired for his racial slur on twitter a few days ago. He should have. My guess is the tweet got a lot of heat on Cole, which lead to a short segment between Lawler and Cole. Even when he doesn't speak, Cole messes up.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>The tag match with Sheamus/Ziggler/Morrison/Bryan is a preview of what the future of the WWE could look like. Ziggler and Morrison need a real feud after Wrestlemania. Minus the women, minus all the pub and a simple one on one story. If they were on Smackdown, they would help elevate the IC title and move on in another year or two in the WHC. On Raw, they are nothing more than fillers. Hopefully they get a long feud with the United States title after Wrestlemania.</div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ULywEJYEUys/TZFRs9GkphI/AAAAAAAAABs/BbbjZEanncg/s1600/Road%2BWarriors.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 296px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 250px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5589338445301720594" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ULywEJYEUys/TZFRs9GkphI/AAAAAAAAABs/BbbjZEanncg/s320/Road%2BWarriors.jpg" /></a>The Road Warriors were the greatest tag team of all time. Hawk was the talker and Animal was the power. The spiked shoulder pads, the paint and muscle was a perfect combo. They deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. WWE Hall is a joke but at least 2 or 3 guys each year get in that deserve it. LOD ruled plain and simple, WHAT A RUSH! <br /><div></div><br /><div>Glad I went and took a pee break during the whole Shore segment. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>It certainly feels special when The Rock is live and in front of a great hot crowd. I didn't figure The Rock would get interupted by a clock tonight. It's hard to put into words the final segment. The moment with Cena and The Rock was breath taking. Miz did have a great aura around him tonight. I thought he held his own with Cena and Rock. The people's elbow was greatness and the AA was perfect ending. The only question is where is the pay off? Unless The Rock is going to actually stick around and beat the piss out of both these guys, then all of this is for nothing. I would be fine if this dragged on and The Rock and Cena went at it one on one next year. If WWE really wanted to throw a giant curveball, they would turn Cena a full fledge heel. The Rock could help that. Otherwise, this is just to hype Mania and The Rock will hose Cena but he doesn't like either man. I don't have my crystal ball out. I can't see into the future for Wrestlemania. I will try and do that on Thursday morning with my Wrestlemania pick blog. A great show and a great ending. I'm ready for Sunday.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Time for some plugs before I walk. ShowStoppers will have a special guest on Wednesday when it hits BBSD. During Raw, you can follow me @bigbadsportsdad or any other time @mccall316 on twitter. As I mentioned, I will be back for my Wrestlemania pick blog on Thursday morning or Wednesday night on blogger.com. Enjoy the hype for Wrestlemania. I know I am. Hell, even TNA had their moments. Raw may not be as stratusfying as last week, instead it should help build a few other matches for the card at Mania. The new United States Champion Sheamus should get an opponent of either Kofi or Daniel Bryan. Triple H and The Undertaker need to do something as last week didn't help at all. I hate Snooki and her being added to the card. Still, I love Ziggler and him being in a high profile match is good enough. The WWE has only 3 Raws left and time is running out.<br /><br /><br /><div></div><div>I'm ready for the Triple H Taker match at Wrestlemania. I don't think the hype has been as good as I thought it would be. I figured Shawn would make a live appearance and have a few words for Triple H. We've only saw a bunch of videos. It's a little disappointing. Biggest shocker was Ted Dibiase was actually used. Sure, he got the same treatment as Sheamus a few weeks ago. Still, some people may have forgot about Teddy. He had a great match on Smackdown taking on Rey. Teddy is the most underused talent in the WWE. If you don't believe that, I got two words for ya... The whole story feels rushed. Without Triple H or Taker actually beating each other up, it's weak. I want the match but I'm not as excited as I should be to witness it. The video later in the night was pretty sweet. One thing WWE knows how to do, production.</div><br /><div>Sheamus is finally winning matches which is good. I would rather see him in a real match against Evan. I guess Evan won't be on Wrestlemania. They have yet to build a real story for Sheamus. As I wrote that, Daniel Bryan and Sheamus is booked for Wrestlemania. I'm really happy about that. Bryan deserves to be on the card and I believe Sheamus and Bryan will open the show. They can create a hot opener. They already had a great Raw match which is difficult with time restraints. WWE should give them about 15 minutes of actual in ring time and it won't disappoint.</div><div> </div><div>The Diva match certainly mattered. Eve's slap was sweet. WWE is making an even bigger sham of the Diva division. Eve is the Diva champion and hardly anyone remember. I know it is Coles' job to be a douchebag. You can do that in ways when it doesn't hurt the rest of the roster. Worst part of all was Cole wasn't even the next segment. What the hell was the point? </div><br /><div>Good to see Santino and Kozlov got a rematch about 3 months later. I've never understood Heath Slater and his one man rock band moniker. What's a mean? He must be ultra talented on the guitar, mic and drums. He sure as hell isn't talented in the ring. Big Show and Kane may add Kevin Nash to go up against the Corre. It would make sense. Raw has them blindside Corre and then Smackdown Corre turns the table until the big truck horn hits and Nash walks down the aisle on his giant stilts. </div><br /><div>Hmm, Cena is live via satellite. Pretty lame Cena. The crowd sure got a huge 'Cena Sucks' chants. Those are always fun. The interview was stupid and meant zip. WWE says it's entertainment and at this point it wasn't entertaining. Raw was boring up to this point. Cole didn't make it much better.</div><br /><div>Cole and Swagger have to get in as many shots as possible. Wrestlemania is going to go a lot like this: Glass breaks and Austin does the BMF walk to the ring. Swagger and Cole follow and then Lawler. Cole starts talking and then Ross comes down to announce the match. Cole gets pissed and starts to whine. Lawler punches Cole to shut him up. Swagger tries to interfere and receives a stunner for his trouble. Lawler continues to beat the crap out of Cole. The crowd is going crazy. Lawler hits the fist drop, 1-2-3. Lawler wins. Austin, Lawler and JR celebrate with some cold ones. Cole gets back up and gets a Stunner. You wait and it will go down very close to this paragraph only it will last 10 minutes to long.</div><br /><div>Snooki gives WWE a bunch of pub. That's about it. I can't stand her and haven't like any of the celebrity matches except the LT Bam Bam match and Tyson's involvement. Otherwise, keep them out of the ring. <img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 308px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5586732316807593570" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-EAVRx0HbGEI/TYgPcT6C_mI/AAAAAAAAABc/8R6Xzz0vb7U/s320/Layla.jpg" />Morrison and Ziggler should be the match, by themselves. I made the notion that Morrison and Ziggler would wrestle for their respective show's number one contender. I know that's too smart. Of course, WWE would change a match in midstream. More awesome writing. I don't want you to read this wrong, I enjoy watching Trish Stratus. I just want the match to begin and end with the same participants. I figured Cole would interrupt their match as well. Vicki getting to pin Morrison was greatness. That may have been the best part of the show so far. Seriously, she is very talented. </div><div> </div><div>I have to say, I'm pretty pumped to see Sin Cara. He's going to be a lot of fun to watch. Then again, WWE won't have a clue how to use him. He will probably sit around the mid card status forever.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>I tweeted that Orton was foreshadowing talking about his family earlier. I figured Punk might take the bus or something to that affect. Again, Raw cuts off a match to further a story. Wrestlemania should be loaded with in ring entertainment since Raw hasn't had any real matches for weeks. </div><br /><div> </div><div>I have liked Miz stealing the spotlight but Raw couldn't come up with anything for a main event except for Miz-tory. By the time Miz-tory hit my television screen, I was too bored to care. I had a feeling Cena would be there and was complete in shock that he was there. I couldn't believe it. (Read with lots of sarcasim). </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Raw provided nothing of real interest. I was pretty bored by the time Miz-tory rolled around. A typical ending to a standard Raw. The WWE pretty much phoned that in and will wait for next weeks Raw with the return of The Rock. I'm expecting big things. If the WWE gives this crap again, Wrestlemania's road won't make it to Atlanta. However, I still love the fact that Triple H, The Rock and Austin might all be seen at the same time at Wrestlemania in a backstage segment. I expect to be Stratusfied since the lovely Diva of the Decade makes her way to fight the Cougar. The other match announced before the show is Sheamus against Daniel Bryan for the U.S. title and I hope its a long solid match. I will have more on Raw and the matches in a second. I have to hit a few topics that are all over the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC).<br /><br /><div></div><div>I will admit I didn't watch one minute of TNA's Victory Road Sunday. I checked out the results while I was at my day job and was shocked. I couldn't believe all the stories on Jeff Hardy. I've since saw the footage and it's bad. Kids, this is how <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lckr9OLR2Ow">not to act</a>. Jeff was out of control and Sting was furious. I wonder if Sting regrets not taking WWE money (Shameful Plug Alert: I tweeted the same thing @mccall316). I don't get why TNA didn't throw something together. They didn't give RVD or Anderson the win earlier in the night. Um, if Hardy was in such terrible shape, then change the RVD Anderson finish. Once their match was over, have Hardy attack them only to get beat up in the process. I think pay-per-viewers would have liked to see Anderson take on Sting then the 2 minutes they got. Two years ago, I wrote a Summerslam pick blog and at the end, I wrote a personal letter to Jeff Hardy. You can find it <a href="http://bigbadj-call.blogspot.com/2009/08/summerslam-prediction.html">here</a> at the end of the blog. To summarize, I felt Hardy was making a huge mistake and was giving away a golden opportunity. Some may forget how great Hardy's run was in the E. He won the world title and WWE title. He was being pushed as the top face of Smackdown. Then, he walked. </div><div><br /></div><div>As it turns out, WWE was smart and should be grateful that Jeff walked out. TNA should fire him now. You shouldn't wait any longer or give him another chance. What is the point? Jeff hasn't shown he can be responsible. For crying out loud, in the video he acts like he's perfectly fine. Meanwhile, Sting gave him the death stare. The whole situation makes everyone look bad, even the guys in the TNA locker room that had nothing to do with the thing. The next few days will certainly be interesting for TNA, albeit in mostly negative light. I guess that's not much different than normal.</div><div></div><div>The Great One succeeds again. The entire segment was hilarious with the kid. Abracadabra Yabba Dabba was brilliant. He may not be live in living color each week but he is still rolling. The Rock's skit was just another way to show off how great the attitude era was and how guys today can still put on funny promos. </div><div><br /></div><div>Cole is ricockulous. The cage was pretty stupid. Miz gave a good promo as retaliation for The Rock's skit. Miz has proved in the past few weeks he deserves the spotlight. I was begging for Miz to take on Triple H. I know that's a stretch but anything is better than Kahli. The other main event read by Lawler was great. Cena taking on Alberto Del Rio is smart. Del Rio gets exposed even more before Mania. </div><div></div><div>The match as expected was terrible. I didn't like Riley coming back to help Miz either. I thought it was better if Miz went on his own and Riley did the same. Miz did steal the spotlight and bloodied up Kahli which I liked. Miz and Cena haven't had enough interaction though. I know Miz attacked Cena the last two weeks. I'd like to see one in ring promo between the two with no interruptions. We have 2 Raws left and I bet we see it sometime. </div><div><br /></div><div>Triple H's video was sick. I got to watch Smackdown this week since my DVR worked. I enjoyed Smackdown except for Taker no showing. Triple H will get to use the dreaded Sledgehammer in the no holds barred. They do need to be in a match before Mania. Smackdown does have a few things going for it. Rhodes and Mysterio have a fantastic story building for a match. The addition of daddy Rhodes made it all the better. The only person I fear is being left behind is Christian. I don't want to see him turn heel. They have enough bad guys on the roster now. Keep Christian face and let him feud with Drew, Rhodes and the world champion Del Rio after Mania.</div><div><br /></div><div>The Irish<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0NBdL0tvx0I/TX7HNshp8QI/AAAAAAAAABE/EB4hG7eayAw/s1600/Sheamus.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 231px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 252px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5584119626090541314" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0NBdL0tvx0I/TX7HNshp8QI/AAAAAAAAABE/EB4hG7eayAw/s320/Sheamus.jpg" /></a> Ghost has certainly been on a losing streak. They have lost all the momentum with Sheamus. These two guys could be a great opening contest at Wrestlemania. They have great chemistry and Bryan is a solid performer. He can carry Sheamus to a good 15 minute roller coaster ride to pump up the crowd. I do think Sheamus will end up on Smackdown after Mania. In the meantime, use the 2 time WWE champion. It's common sense. Especially, when one title on Raw doesn't have anything else going for it. Bryan is getting shown in the best capacity which is in the ring. I liked the chick magnet persona but he's better used inside the squared circle. The match and finish was phenomenal. They did a great job with a few near falls and twists. I'm really happy they gave them time. It proved just what I wrote before, they could build a solid opener at the big show. I was pumped after Sheamus won. Damn, great match!</div><div><br /></div><div></div><div>Wow, Grand Master Sexay put the crowd to sleep. Holy crap were they dead. Nobody knew who the hell he was. Brian looks a lot like Mr. Anderson. At least Lawler made the segment somewhat funny. It's true, Brian has had a terrible past. Holy crap, I yelled louder for the return of Jim Ross then I did for anyone else. I respect the hell out of JR. I have an autographed picture of me and Jim Ross thanks to a buddy of mine. The voices of the WWE are wanting Jim Ross to return back to the announcer table. Jim knew fighting 101 and took the tie off. Swagger and Cole got great cheap heat for beating up JR. I loved the whole segment. Why? This practically guarantees Ross will call the match at Wrestlemania. Anytime Ross can call a match, it's a good thing.</div><div><br /></div><div></div><div>The hometown boy, Randall Orton sends Mason Batista down with another punt to a Nexus member. I said it last week and still feel Orton and Punk have been the best story. The tease before the kick was well done. With Mania being 3 weeks away, I wonder if at least 1 Nexus member could return before the show. Orton and Punk have the potential to steal Wrestlemania.</div><div></div><div>Drew Carey is in the WWE Hall of Fame. I will vomit now. The Hall keeps becoming a bigger joke.</div><div></div><div>I can't stand any of the Jersey Shore cast members or the dumbass shows. Snooki is a dirty filthy disgusting brutal bottom feeding trash bag hoe. She goes really well with the PG era. If only the entire Jersey Shore would go away. Apparently, I'm just to old to watch crapola on MTV any longer. I couldn't believe the WWE universe started a Snooki chant. What the hell? I have live through more Snooki. Life continues to get better. I'm all for having Stratus team up with Morrison allowing him and Ziggler to have a match. I just don't need more Snooki. Hopefully, she is replaced by Kelly Kelly.</div><div></div><div>I can't put my finger on why I like Del Rio so much. I just do is all. He's a great character. Cole teased The Rock was there before the final break. The Miz did an awesome job as The Mock. The crowd really bought into it at first. They all believed it was The Rock and I have to say I thought it was when I laid eyes on the entrance way. Mockery is the biggest form of flattery and two weeks in a row, Miz has mocked Rock. I was a skeptic when it came to The Miz for a long time. He has since proved his worth. The overrun went well. The WWE knows how to outshine the lack of competition. Sunday, TNA gives their fans a 1 minute paid main event. Monday, Raw goes over by 10 minutes and provides a great story and moment.</div><br /><div></div><div></div><div>Aside from Snooki (Sorry I dislike her), Raw was a very good show. I liked everything about it. Daniel Bryan and Sheamus provided a fantastic in ring contest. The Rock opened the show with several laughs. Jim Ross showed up to further the Lawler Cole story. Then the Miz steals the show again. This was the time of Raw I expect when we are 3 weeks from Wrestlemania. Finally, the WWE stepped up its game. <a href="http://www.bigbadsportsdaddy.com/">BBSD</a> is also stepping up our game.
