Bash and Raw 6 29

The Bash ended Sunday night with Randy Orton successfully defending his WWE Title, just as I predicted. The Bash did have a few surprises though. Kane returned and beat Kahli's ass. Edge and Y2J left with the Tag titles. The biggest surprise was Cena beating Miz, I mean who saw that coming. The ppv left a few questions going into Raw. I am looking forward to a great show tonight. For the first time ever, I am doing the blog LIVE as Raw happens. Enjoy.

BBSD already had the results of the ppv on the homepage on Monday so there is no need to break it down. All I can say is that the show was entertaining. Punk kept his character teetering on good guy bad guy. Jericho and Rey ended their feud in fantastic form. Dreamer, yes Tommy Dreamer, held on to the ECW title. Raw's champ after the Bash is still Randy Orton. Oh and if you read my prediction blog, I didn't do so well. You win some and lose some.

Raw is live from San Jose, Cali. First out is the Chairman of the Board Vince McMahon. He announces a huge 15 superstar trade between all 3 brands. That sounds like something we need to know about! VKM has a guest host, his name is Dave Batista. Out comes the Animal. He still has his arm wrapped up after having surgery. I guess Randy isn't going to have a good night. He announces a 4 man tournament and the winner faces Orton at the next pay per view, Night of Champions. MVP vs HHH and Miz vs Cena. The WWE champion Randy Orton is out with Legacy. Now this is the way a show is suppose to open up with the champ. Batista says he can "fire" Orton and Legacy because Vince gave him unlimited power. Batista starts talking about the trade that Trump made. Orton is going to wrestle 3 of those men who were traded to Raw in a Gauntlet match. I love the opener. The WWE never announced who was traded, which is something to look forward to during the telecast. HHH vs MVP is announced next.

We return from the break with pictures of the 3 stages of hell match at the Bash. Lilian announces the first match of the tournament. By the way, a little info, Lilian is leaving the WWE when her contract runs up. I guess she is getting married to one lucky bastard and wants to start a family. She has been one of the best in ring announcers the WWE has ever had. Plus she is really hot. Out comes the Game. The pop for MVP is not a big one. He is a popular superstar but putting him up against HHH is kind of strange. 2 faces going at it. I think they could have put someone else in the match against HHH, maybe Big Show. MVP goes after HHH's left leg which was the focal point of Orton's attack at the Bash, good strategy. I like it when a wrestler takes a beating and has battle wounds instead of being completely healthy after a beat down the night before. MVP is actually getting booed. Triple H gets dominated in the match but somehow hits the pedigree and wins the match. Now he has to face either Miz or Cena. Oh should I just say he will face Cena next week. Nice match but what does it do for MVP? Nothing.

The unified tag champs are here tonight. The Colons are invoking their rematch clause. How great is it that Edge and Jericho, two of the biggest stars in the WWE, are on all 3 shows? Edge and Jericho talk. I think y2j is reading the dictionary at night before bed because he used a bunch of words I could never spell. I sure hope the Colons aren't buried now that they do not hold the tag titles. Wait, they were not showcased before with the belts. Faces have the upper hand going into a commercial break. Jericho in control now. Lawler says Edge and Christian instead of Jericho. Well they are both blonds I guess. Michael Cole is on his game tonight. Jericho yells at Primo and says that's classic Jericho. What the hell does that mean? Jericho goes for the Lionsault. Carlito moves and does the moonsault off the ropes. Cool spot there. Backstabber on Edge, but Jericho breaks the pin up. Spear by Edge and pin fall. Primo and Carlito argue in the ring afterward. A fun match to watch. I'm enjoying the show so far.

A video package is run of the history between Cena and Miz. Cena has been in the WWE for 7 years now. The WWE video packages are as good if not better than anyone else in the business. Miz vs Cena next. Cena with a good pop tonight. Miz comes out firing. Its worth noting that Cole and Lawler were talking about how Miz can't back up his words. Hard to do that when you have him lose in matches he must win to establish his character!!! Damn. Miz with the momentum heading into the commercial break. I am going to say this before Raw comes back on, Cena will win...again. Just letting you know, everyone watching Raw right now should be saying the same thing. The WWE is way to predictable with Cena. He has lost 1 big match all year long. The only big match he lost was to Edge and only because Big Show came out and cost him the match at Backlash. Ok Raw is back. Here comes the heroic comeback for John Cena. Miz dominates for 15 minutes and then Cena hits 4 moves and wins. WWE tried to make Miz look good but in the end, hes 0-2 against Cena. HHH vs Cena next week for a shot against Orton. Please WWE give us Cena vs Orton. I don't want to see Triple H and Orton again. Or somehow screw both men and have a triple threat match with Cena Orton and HHH. Do anything to change it up!

Ohhh yeah. If you haven't checked out the Macho Man DVD set, you should. Randy Savage was an awesome wrestler and a fun character. He was one of the best in ring performers ever. Dig it!

A number 1 contenders match for the Diva's championship with Kelly Kelly vs Mickie James. Lawler is way off tonight he called Cole, JR. The women have him flustered. Is it just me or is Maryse getting hotter every week? My god. I hope she reads this. Email me baby, mccall316@yahoo.com! I thought it was just a one on one match, but Raw comes back with Beth and Rosa are in the ring as well. A fatal four way match going on. Mickie James used a dragon sleeper. While she has that hold on Rosa puts a sleeper on Mickie and Kelly puts a sleeper on Rosa. Very nice spot with the women. Beth hits her sweet finisher on Kelly. Mickie gets Beth out of the ring. Rosa takes the Mickie DDT and picks up the victory. Mickie vs Maryse at Night of Champions. I am looking forward to this match. Yes a women's match to be excited about. Mickie can wrestle. I found out in this match that Rosa needs some improvement.

2 men not showcased on The Bash, Big Show vs Kofi. At least this might have legs for a new feud for Big Show. The match wasn't bad. The feud might go on now. The match ended on a double countout.

Next week Ted Dibiase the Million Dollar Man will be in charge. That's pretty sweet considering he can talk and is a face most fans will know. Raw has had a few backstage promos with Legacy. It seems there is a small riff between Dibiase and Orton. Maybe daddy Dibiase will make that a match. Hell yes!!! Evan Bourne is now on Raw! He is Orton's first opponent. Evan is a huge up and comer in the WWE. Had Evan stayed on ECW, he should have been ECW champ by the end of the year. Now, he should go after the US title on Raw. That is a great name to join the Raw brand. I went to an indy wrestling show this past Saturday night. Evan's brother was one of the wrestlers at the event. He showed some promise even with a bad opponent, maybe someday he will join his bro on the big stage. Evan got to showcase some of his talent against the best Raw has to offer. Evan went for the Shooting Star Press, but Orton countered. RKO off the 2nd rope. Orton 1 and 0. Jack Swagger is the next man out. ECW loses 2 huge talented guys. I hope they are getting something in return. If you don't know Swagger, hes a former ECW champ. He is a good in ring performer. Not the best on the mic but can work on it. Swagger is on the apron and just stands there and gets counted out. What the hell? He gets a mic and says he likes Orton and wanted to leave a good impression. Uh yeah that really made sense. Dude you make a bigger impression by giving the champ a battle. Mark freakin Henry is the final opponent. Ok, ECW had a scramble match last night and lost 2 of the opponents in that match. Henry grabs the mic and says he likes Orton and respects him. Henry goes on to say he wants to leave an good first impression. He locks up with Orton and throws him down. He sits on the apron for a few seconds but comes back in the ring. Henry actually gets a pop for coming back in the ring. It might be the first time in years Mark wasn't booed out of the arena. The audience hates Orton that much. Randy is also selling his injuries from last night. World's strongest slam on Randy. He gets the victory. Are you kidding me? Mark Henry just pinned the WWE champion. I don't care for that so much. The crowd actually got behind Mark Henry. I am in complete shock.

We have Triple H vs Cena to look forward to next week. WWE will be in Australia next Monday so they are taping a double show tonight. Raw will be taped right after this weeks episode. I usually read spoilers but I won't for Raw because it will effect my writing. Hope you enjoyed the live blog. Be sure to check out my buddy, John's blog on the NBA all decade team. I am going to take the rest of the week off after writing 4 blogs last week. See ya next week for another Raw blog. Thanks for reading.

The Bash Predictions

Yes I know what you are thinking, another double header for J Call. You gotta love it baby. WOOO! The WWE has set up a nice pay per view coming up this Sunday at The Bash. This may not be a better ppv than Extreme Rules but it has to be better than Judgement Day. The card is not quite finalized but I read the spoilers for Smackdown so I have the full card. Time to look into my crystal ball and tell you what the WWE is going to do this Sunday at The Bash.

Womens Title
Michelle McCool vs Melina (c). Melina walks into the Bash as the WWE womens champ. She has had the title for quite sometime. Michelle is a solid wrestler and I like this match up. WWE is doing a good job on Smackdown with their Divas, I cant say the same for Raw. Michelle has a chance to become the first ever woman to hold both the Diva and Women title. I dont think thats happening Sunday. Melina wins in a solid contest.

Unified Tag Titles
The Colons (c) vs Legacy. I guess Rhodes and DiBiase are not Priceless any longer. This feud has not been built up enough. They had nice contests the last 2 weeks. There have not been any backstage videos nor interviews. I love tag matches but hardly any story to this match. I have said it for 2 weeks, give the belts to Legacy. If you have read my other ppv blogs, I rarely get what I want. This time, I do. Legacy wins the tag titles.

Scramble Match for the ECW Title
Tommy Dreamer (c) vs Mark Henry vs Christian vs Swagger vs Finlay. I have been reading reports that the WWE has not enjoyed having Dreamer as champ. They dont believe he is over with the fans. Well when a wrestler hardly ever wins matches and is buried for five years what do you think the fans are going to believe? My head hurts trying to think about how the WWE writers think. Dreamer deserves to keep the belt. Will the WWE be patient? Swagger gets the ECW belt back.

IC Title vs Mask
Y2J Chris Jericho (c) vs Rey Mysterio. I told you this was going to happen back at Extreme Rules. I believe this will be the final match with Jericho and Rey. This feud has been great. No chance Rey loses his mask. He had it happen to him in WCW and he wasnt happy about it. The mask is his life, career, and legacy. Rey gets the IC title back.

Singles Match
John Cena vs The Miz. Finally! I have watched Miz run his mouth for weeks. Now it is the time to put up or shut up. The Miz has been dominating this feud, just like Show. Miz got the upper hand on the Raw before the ppv, just like Show. Cena beat Show in every ppv match. I want to believe the WWE will give the Miz the push. I just can't see it. Cena wins at the Bash.

World Heavyweight Championship
CM Punk (c) vs Jeff Hardy. CM Punk still isnt a heel, but he isnt a face either. I like this stage of evolving character. Jeff Hardy deserves the World Title, but so does Punk. He has to become a major player in the WWE and on Smackdown. Punk and Hardy will have more matches over the summer. This will be fun and entertaining. Punk will win by cheating and turn full fledge heel.

WWE Title Match
3 Stages of Hell
Randy Orton (c) vs HHH. I am trying to focus so hard on my crystal ball to get the winner of this match. Not only will I give you the winner of the match but each stage. The first fall is a regular match. As I said on the Raw blog this match has only happened once. 2001 No Way Out HHH vs Stone Cold. The first fall in that match was a regular match. HHH said back then he would break Austin's spirit in the 1st fall. He failed. Austin won the first fall. This time, HHH will win the first fall. The 2nd fall is a falls count anywhere. I can bet this match gets brutal. For the love of god, give me some blood in the match! This part of hell will look and feel a lot like the last man standing match on Raw. HHH will win this fall and even the score at 1 a piece. 3rd and final fall is a stretcher match. This is where it gets hazy. I know I have to make a choice. I can see why HHH should be champion. I can see why Orton should be the champ. Orton needs it more. Orton wins the stretcher match and keeps the title.

The Bash will finish with all 3 members of Legacy holding a belt. I hope Raw starts some new story lines. The WWE needs to change up the WWE title situation. I want to see more than just HHH, Batista, and Orton in main events. By the way where the hell is the US champ Kofi on this card. Should be a fun ppv this Sunday. Thanks for reading.

NBA Draft Breakdown

The NBA draft was last night. In case you missed it, my boy Blake Griffin went first. He is going to be a great player...when he leaves the Clippers in 3 years. Its hard to praise the worst franchise in the NBA. I also have to talk about some of the blockbuster deals going down but that's after the draft. The 1st pick was a given but after that, there were some head scratchers. Time for a breakdown of the top 10 picks.

1. LA Clippers: Blake Griffin, PF. Oklahoma. Ok this was the easiest pick of the night. As I said, it is hard to give some props to Donald Sterling. All I can say is, great job not trading the pick away. Now if only they could find someone to take Zach Randolphs terrible contract, they might have a decent team. But I doubt that.

2. Memphis Grizz: Hasheem Thabeet, C. Connecticut. This pick makes sense. I don't care much for Thabeet because he has no offensive skills, yet. He is going to help out on the defensive side though. Thabeet reminds me of Diekembe or even Greg Oden. Thabeet is a work in process.

3. Oklahoma City Thunder: James Harden, SG. Arizona St. Here is where I start the 2nd guessing. James Harden had 19 points in two games in the NCAA tournament. Yes I know you cant judge a guy by 2 games. But that is when you must play your best ball. Oh and he only made 3 field goals in those 2 games. I understand why you don't pick Rubio because you have Westbrook. What about Tyreke Evans instead? OKC could not move up and get Blake but I did not understand Harden.

4. Sacramento Kings: Tyreke Evans, SG. Memphis. As I said I would have rather seen this guy go to OKC. To bad the Kings did not need this guy either. Here's how it went down in the board room. Scout Guy 1 "I think we should take Rubio. We need a franchise pg who can lead our young core." Maloofs "I don't think that is a good idea. We can not afford to buy out his contract. Plus we have Beno Udrith. I think we should take another shooting guard because Kevin Martin and Rashard McCants isn't enough. Lets go with Tyreke." Well something like that. Yeah Beno freakin Udrith. Hes a future all star with plenty of potential. Come on now!! Isn't there a pill to take for gas called Beno? I needed one after this pick.

5. Minnesota T'Wolves: Ricky Rubio, PG. Spain. I love this pick for the T'wolves. Ricky is going to cost them some money to get him over to the US. He has great potential. Sac will regret not taking him when they select in the top 10 again and pick a point guard.

6. Minnesota T'Wolves: Jonny Flynn, PG. Syracuse. I loved the pick they got from Washington at 5. Why would you take back to back point guards? They need some back up in the front court. They even took Lawson with the 18th pick. They ended up trading Ty Lawson away. The better choice would have been Jordan Hill. He would have been a nice addition at the power forward spot backing up Kevin Love and Al Jefferson. Right now, Brian Cardinal, Mark Madsen, and Shelden Williams are not getting it done off the bench.

7. Golden State Warriors: Stephen Curry, PG. Davidson. Yes, yes, yes! He fits perfect in the Don Nelson fun and gun offense. I cant argue at all in this pick. The kid is a star in the making. Now hes in the perfect system to jump start his career.

8. New York Knicks: Jordan Hill, PF. Arizona. Hard to argue this as well. Hill is a solid addition to a team in dire need of depth at every position. I hope they keep David "double double" Lee. If they do, these 2 will make a nice combo. Hill is small but D'Antoni does not love size in centers. The Knicks finally do something right. I guess now with Isiah Thomas out of the way, the Knicks might start to get better.

9. Toronto Raptors: DeMar DeRozan, SG. USC. He isn't OJ Mayo but he has potential. The Raptors depth is terrible at shooting guard. Anthony Parker and Jason Kapono are not starting material. DeRozan can step in and play with Calderon, Bosh, and Bargnani. I do not see them resigning Marion Barber because they want to save cap for next year and give Bosh every penny he deserves. If they can keep Bosh, the Raptors can become a basement dweller to playoff picture.

10. Milwaukee Bucks: Brandon Jennings, PG. Italy. I have to say, I have not seen anything of this kid. He is young and raw from what I can tell. He is only 19 years old. The Bucks have Luke Ridnour and Ramon Sessions at the point right now. This pick makes sense if Jennings comes over right away. The Bucks need to resign Sessions as well.

Ok there were some big trades that happened right before the Draft and during it. Since I was just talking about the Bucks..

The Milwaukee Bucks traded away Richard Jefferson to the Spurs for Oberto, Kurt Thomas, and Bruce Bowen. I'm a Spurs fan so what do you think I did when I heard about this trade? I would have done cartwheels if I could do cartwheels. It hurts to lose Bowen but he might get bought out and come back to the Spurs. With Jefferson, Manu, Parker, and Duncan this team has opened the Championship window for another two years. Meanwhile, the Bucks start the rebuilding process.

The Washington Wizards traded the 5th pick plus 3 crappy players or as my brother would say a poo poo platter for Randy Foye and Mike Miller. The Wiz pass up a chance to land Rubio and elect to go with Foye as the back up plan to Agent 0 Gilbert Arenas. Mike Miller is an expiring contract so they will save money in next years free agent extravaganza. The T'Wolves get nobody worth mentioning and Rubio with that 5th pick.

Atl Hawks traded Acie Law and Speedy Claxton to Golden State for Jamal Crawford. Atlanta gets a good shooting guard without giving up anything. Acie Law is a nice backup pg with some potential. He will play well for Nelson. Speedy Claxton has not been relevant since 2003 when he was with the Spurs. As a whole trade I like it a lot more for Atlanta than Golden State.

BBSD already hit on the Shaq trade. Shaq is headed for Cleveland for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. Suns get rid of a monster 21 million off the cap. The Cavs get a big man they needed in the playoffs. Shaq is way past his prime. I would have rather seen Amare go to Cleveland than Shaq. But it does help Cleveland. Wallace is thinking about retiring which would save even more money for the Suns.

Last one, the Nets send Vince Carter to Orl for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie, and Courtney Lee. Alston was only in Orlando while Jameer Nelson was hurt. He served a purpose and now he will do the same in New Jersey. Meanwhile, forget about Turkoglu coming back now. I don't see how they can afford to keep Nelson, Lewis, Howard and Turk. If they can, Orlando has a good chance of getting back to the Finals. Orlando should have kept Lee but I understand why the Nets wanted him part of the deal.

The draft was fun, exciting and had some big headlines. I look forward to the free agent market opening up in July. I can't see this is the end of the trades either. Looks like it is going to be a fun filled summer in the NBA.

Commercial Free Raw

I am pulling a double header tonight baby! For the first time ever in Raw's long history it is presented commercial free. It is all thanks in part of the new Raw owner, Mr. Donald Trump. I am still a little skeptical on him being an owner. The first night should give us a good idea of what the Donald will do with his new investment. Did it win this writer over or fail worse than Mr. McMahon "dying" on Raw? Lets find out:

Raw starts with a rundown of last weeks program. The pyro goes on and out comes the new "owner" Donald Trump. He welcomes us to a new era of Monday Night Raw. Wow Donald is giving every fan in the building a full refund. Crazy! I guess he is gonna be a popular guy in Green Bay. Another man who is popular comes out, Larry's boy, John Cena. He has a match vs The Big Show. I hope its not exactly like every other match they ever had. He rolls a tape of The Miz. I don't mind Miz but can we just get to Miz vs Cena. Miz arrives on the scene. Huge you suck chants towards the Miz. Always have to love the crowd getting into the show. Cena announces Cena vs Miz at the Bash. Thank you Cena. Cena goes on for a while longer. He makes some good points. Miz takes a cheap shot and then runs away. This was a good opener for the show. Im glad Cena and Miz are gonna go at it. Off to a decent start.

Smackdown's announcer team is there as well. Jeff Hardy out now. I guess the writers wanted 2 of the biggest stars of the WWE start the show. First Cena, then Jeff Hardy. 6 man tag. Hardy Kahli, ugh, and Rey vs. Y2J, Ziggler and EDGE!!!!! Woohoo!!! Ok now Im excited. I do not get MyNetwork on my cable system so I watch Smackdown on my laptop through hulu.com. I am always excited to see Smackdown wrestlers on Raw. Punk out to do commentary. The match starts off with some high flying action. First Hardy on all 3 then Rey. Kahli climbs up but is stopped before he can take a leap. The match was very exciting. The bad guys hit some of their finishers but in the end Hardy wins. This match helped every feud going on on Smackdown.

So far Raw's in ring action has been great. Backstage segments have been ok. Trump fired Santina. THANK YOU DONALD!!!

Tag champs out next. Wow WWE gave Carlito and Primo microphones. What? Priceless out next. I must have missed something because they have new music. I didn't notice that last week. Primo vs Rhodes. Tag teams getting some time to develop this feud. The match could have gone a few more mins. Rhodes cheats and grabs the tights to win. Give Legacy the tag belts!

The Last Man Standing match is next. They have a very cool Orton HHH video before it to hype it up some more. I actually did some homework this weekend. I told you last week that these 2 men have had 2 other LMS matches. I decided to watch them both. The 2007 No Mercy match was a quality match. Both men used the announcers table and ringside area. The ending was Orton giving Triple H an RKO on the announcers table. The 2008 Extreme Rules LSM was good but couldnt be great. Before Orton broke his collarbone going over the top rope, the match was well done. Both matches had similarities but also mixed it up. I wondered how the Raw LSM match was going to be different. HHH starts off this match quickly. Again the two men use the ringside area well, even going into the stands. HHH focused on the shoulder while Orton focused on HHH knee. A sweet RKO on the announcer's table. But HHH got up. Orton backed drop on the same table. Again Orton got up. The action spilled up the rampway. Close encounters as the battle worked its way towards the stands again. Triple H ran over some poor bastard with a ladder when Orton ducked. Pretty funny stuff there. Pedigree on the entrance way. Both men couldn't get to their feet. Another Last Man Standing Match ending in a draw. A fantastic match. But...

I hate to say this but I don't care for the WWE pg programming. If this was 4 years ago we would have saw blood. In a match where a chair was used, a TV monitor, the steal steps, and the ring post, someone should have been cut open. Just pisses me off. Plus we hear no1 say 'I'm gonna kick your ass'! Instead we get long promos where wrestlers tell each other to shut up or I'll make you. It just makes wrestlers look weak. I would love for them to go back to be a little more edgier.

Trump out in the ring promo. Trump says he will not use a gm. He says he will use a celebrity to run Raw each week. Out comes the boss Mr. McMahon. They showed a few backstage skits with Vince. He hadn't been having a very good night. Vince wants to buy back Raw. I guess this isn't going to last very long. Trump ends up selling Raw back to Vince for double the money. Well Vince is in charge again I guess. So how was this suppose to help Raw? Trump shows up for 1 week and makes headlines all over the world. In one week its over. Awesome! Pardon me, but this is just f'n stupid. I wanted to see this last a few months or so. This did nothing for Raw because now we are either getting Vince as GM or he elects one. Back to square one.

Vince and Orton backstage. Orton asks Vince to have some decency. Yeah that was gonna work. Vince makes 2 out of 3 falls match for the Bash. HHH vs Orton 1st fall regular match. 2nd fall falls count anywhere. If it gets to a 3rd fall, when does it, is a stretcher match. Now theres something to get excited about. 3 stages of Hell match a match only used once ever I remember correctly. Austin vs HHH at No Way Out in 2001. HHH won but the stipulations were different. First fall was regular match. 2nd a street fight. 3rd was a cage match. HHH and Orton had a cage match last year so I guess the writers decided to change it up.

6 diva tag match. Nothing to point out here, Mickie won. Lets get to the main event: Cena vs Show.

Show out first. Cena out with some new Irish green gear. I love Show utilizing the Spear now. He is a huge man and diving at someone with all your might is a great idea. Show also had another cool spot. Lifting Cena up for a powerbomb and dropped him backwards with Cena landing on his head. Slow and methodical match by Big Show. Cena tries to gain momentum a few times. Cena finally hits a big move. His leg drop off the top rope. Show gains it back with a Chokeslam and a splash off the 2nd rope. The finish was wild and crazy. Show won with the help of the Miz. Show looked to choke out Cena. Cena reversed into the STFU. Miz runs down and Cena breaks the hold. Cena gets Show up for an FU but Miz shoves Show on top of Cena. I wonder what will happen at the Bash? Well lets see everytime a heel gets momentum going into a ppv match with Cena, Cena wins.

Raw goes off the air with Triple H attacking Orton in the parking lot. As we fade away, HHH tells Orton this Sunday you are going to hell. Nice ending.

Raw provided a solid show this week. The in ring action was great. The backstage stuff served a purpose. I am really pissed that this Trump story last a whole 7 days. That is just stupid. Overall though it gave fans a great appetizer leading to the Bash. I will have a Bash prediction blog up on Thursday. Be sure to check that out. Also I have a US Open blog up on BBSD. All kinds of stuff happening this week on BBSD.com. Stay tuned. Thanks for reading.

One Long Road Ahead

He walked up to the 18th green. He wasn't going to win and the crowd knew it. They still gave Him a hero's' welcome. The Disney movie script was cancelled. He had so much on his mind but was relieved to have played so well. The crowd tried to will him to victory all weekend. Never the less, He had used this weekend, this course, and the fans as salvation. He knew what was ahead was much tougher than what He had just went through.

The US Open was this past weekend. 3 headlines arose following the event. Lucas Glover (Who?) won for the 2nd time ever in his PGA career. Tiger didn't win. 3rd, the fact that Phil Mickelson played in it and had a chance to win. In case you have been in a cave with no electricity, Phil's wife, Amy has breast cancer. She will be undergoing treatment soon. Phil had pondered the thought of not playing in the US Open. Instead he played well enough to put him in contention to win an event he wants to win more than any other Major Championship. Phil played as if he had nothing to lose. In fact, he didn't. His biggest challenge lies ahead.

Phil will be taking a leave of absence from golf. He already said he will be missing the British Open. Last year at the same time, Tiger was hurt and missed the rest of the season. I am not going to compare Tiger and Phil the golfers, but more on personalities. I am however going to miss Phil more than Tiger. Why? Well first of all I like more story lines in golf than just Tiger vs The Field. I can put myself in Phil's shoes more than Tiger's and it has nothing to do with race. Phil has flaws even on the golf course. Phil is a blue collar type of a person. Phil also shows emotion whether its his huge smile ore complete disgust. Tiger is almost robotic on the course. Tiger only does a fist pump here or an angry swing there. Tiger also rarely ever shows flaws. Don't read this the wrong way I like both guys. I just favor Phil.

I have a huge man crush on Phil Mickelson. I am not afraid to say that. I can remember back at the Masters in 2004, when Phil finally put it all together and won his first major. I sat at home on my couch watching, hoping, and pleading Phil would win. There are only a few sporting events that have made me cry. Yes, I a 25 year old male, will admit I have cried because of a sporting event. I was so wrapped up in Phil and his chase to lose the lovable loser title. On the 18th green, Phil putted to a victory. He leaped in the air like a little kid and the monkey flew off his and his fan's back. He got his green jacket and Amy was there loving every moment of it.

I think that is why I got so captivated. Here was a guy who couldn't win the big one. Phil struggled in every major and his wife stood by his side through it all. Now, the roles are reversed. Phil can't putt to a victory this time. He can only be there for support. I know I speak for everyone at BBSD, when I say we wish Amy a healthy and speedy recovery.

The End of Rosenblatt

If you read my baseball blog earlier last month you know I have been very bored since moving back to Iowa. I am not asking for sympathy, just telling you the truth. I have seen a few movies, got drunk several times, and spent countless hours playing basketball on my hometowns' court. I am more of a movies, bar hopping, and sporting events type of a person. Unfortunately, around the area between Sioux City, IA and Omaha, NE, there are not a lot of sporting events. Both cities have a minor league hockey team, which is worth the hour drive to see. Sioux City has a minor league baseball team. I don't think the residents know they have one though. In Omaha there is one event worth going to in the summer. In fact its going on right now, the College World Series, or CWS for short. The CWS is moving out of Rosenblatt next year. Its the end of a wonderful era in downtown Omaha.

If you have never been to the CWS, you are missing out on an incredible experience. I think it should be something every sports fan gets to see once. I have been to quite a few games in Rosenblatt Stadium. Is it perfect? No. The stadium has a few flaws. The biggest gripe I have is the parking because there isn't any. You could drive around for at least an hour before you find a resident in the area who will let you ruin his front yard for 20 bucks. The area is not fun filled at all. If you are looking for a nice restaurant, get ready to drive thirty minutes. You want a place to go shopping, well that is another twenty minutes. The only thing to do in the area is drink and go to the zoo.

The zoo is worth going to. The Henry Doorly Zoo is one of the nicest zoos in the country. In fact the only thing to look at when you get into Rosenblatt is the zoo. You can see the Desert Dome when you look up above the right field bleachers. The another good thing about Rosenblatt is its atmosphere. You can drink and have a good time but it still feels like a family friendly environment. You see kids having a blast with their families and drunk college kids enjoying themselves as well. The CWS provides one of the most exciting events in the city and brings out the best in the city. Some people have cried foul to closing Rosenblatt. The main reason some residents didn't want to see the money go away from the downtown area. The other? The history of Rosenblatt.

The stadium was built in 1947 and was named Omaha Municipal Stadium. The stadium was renamed to Rosenblatt Stadium in honor of a former Omaha mayor. The St Louis Cardinals were the first mlb team to use the stadium for their farm team. Later, the Kansas City Royals started using the stadium and do to this day. But Rosenblatts' real history comes from having the College World Series since 1950. The CWS had talked about moving the event several different times. Everytime, the city of Omaha pumped more money to renovate the stadium. Now after over fifty years, Rosenblatt will lose the CWS. The new stadium will be built right next to the Qwest Center in Omaha. Rosenblatt will be used for the Omaha Royals for at least another year, but eventually they will move out into another new baseball stadium Omaha is going to build. Yes, Omaha is building 2 different baseball stadiums.

I find the new facility is a must for the CWS. Rosenblatt has served a valuable purpose for over 50 years. If the Yankees can tear down "The House that Ruth Built", then Omaha can shut down Rosenblatt. If you didnt get a chance to go to Rosenblatt, you missed out on a great experience. If you haven't ever seen a CWS game, you will still have to come to Omaha. The CWS and the city of Omaha have a contract to keep the event in Omaha until 2035. I'm sure it will be a great new stadium, it just wont have the same feel as Rosenblatt.

3 hour Raw Full of Suprises

The very special three hour Monday night Raw had a few suprises, a new champ, and a new owner. It was a fun show to watch with all 3 brands of the WWE came together. However, I have a few questions on my mind once the show was over with. Lets get into why I cant quite fathom what the hell the WWE is doing.

Raw started out great. Why? Because they had my boy Y2J, Chris Jericho open the show. All 3 brands announcing teams were ringside. I thought it was kind of strange to start the Raw show off with two smackdown guys. Chris defended his IC belt with the ultimate underdog Rey Mysterio. I love these two performers. They are so much fun to watch. Jericho had a mic in hand before Rey came out. Jericho told the WWE universe that Raw has gone to the toilet since he left. I guess Jericho has been reading my blogs too. Rey started aggressively, something we don't see often. These two had great chemistry in the ring. This match was pay per view quality. Jericho won with the codebreaker. Awesome opener and I look forward to one more match at the Bash with the IC title vs the mask.

The first world title match was the ECW title match. I cant believe they had a clock counting down to when this match would be over and when the WWE title match would start. Way to let the audience know this match was going to be quick. Dreamer and Christian didnt get the time they should have to build a good contest. Instead it seemed rushed. Dreamer won the match with a roll up after C2 "hurt" his knee. I would love to see another match with these two with hardcore rules.

Earlier in the night Orton and Cena had a fantastic backstage interview. Its not often Cena gets me to laugh at his little jokes but he called Legacy, Baby oiled Boys Choir. Before the Fatal Four Way for the WWE title match they had to show again what Orton did last week. Because we never saw it on a replay last week. Thanks WWE. Orton out first followed by Show, Cena and HHH out last. Trips also got the biggest pop. The match was out of control. Guys in the ring out of the ring until Show started to dominate. I love 4 way matches because each man gets a chance to showcase their talent. Show, you can hit your leap off the top? I always thought you missed that move. I guess if Flair can hit a move off the top once every 20 years, so can you. The finish came when HHH hit the pedigree on Show. FU to HHH. Show kicked out. Cena then lifted Show up for an FU. Goes to cover but Orton interupts. He gets rid of Cena. Show gets up and RKO to Show. ORTON WINS!! ORTON WINS!! Oh I got just a little excited. Orton is now a 5 time champ. A great match that got plenty of time. The best part, no one looked weak. It took every mans' finisher just to pin the Big Show.

The boss is back. Vince laid a bombshell on us earlier in the evening that he is "selling" Raw. He teased us until he got an in ring promo. The new owner is now Donald Trump. Donald was live, well sort of. You could tell it was a taped interview with Trump. He says next week its a commercial free Raw. I cant wait to see how many promos and backstage segments next week. Over under 15. Im taking the over. I like Trump but I just dont know about this. Vince has to know this will help WWE get some good publicity. My question is how will this change Raw? I have a wait and see attitude.

Finally something for the guys, a womans match. Its about time. Mickie faces Rosa. Mickie wins with Maryse ringside. Maryse acted as though she was gonna get in the ring. No luck. Maybe we will see that next week. Hey Trump, you wanna listen to fans? I say screw them, just listen to me. Maryse vs Mickie vs Beth. Damn it!!!

Goldust is out with his new buddy Hornswaggle. Time for the time filler of the night. They are out shooting t shirts. Miz comes out. Goldust calls him the Wiz cuz thats what the fans do while he runs his mouth. I wish i would have during this segment. Miz lays out Goldust and shoots Hornswaggle in the nuts, I mean right in the nuts, with the shirt gun.

Another backstage interview before the World title match. In case you missed Smackdown, I dont know why you would, but Punk is now the World Champ. He had an awesome in ring promo to start last weeks smack. Hes being teetered on the line of both, heel and face. I like it. I can see they could make him a heel easily by turning on Jeff Hardy. But keep him a face to go against Edge or Jericho.

The World Title match begins with the Rated R superstar out first. Huge pop for Jeff Hardy. Champ out last. Punk does a suicide dive on Edge. Hardy wouldnt be out done and launched onto both men. A very cool spot with Hardy on top of Edges shoulders and Punk on the top rope. Punk lauches towards Hardy but Hardy ducks and rolls up Edge while Punk crashes to the canvas. Normally the guy on the top hits that move, glad to see they can change things up. If you have watched enough triple threat matches and fatal four ways. They have different feels to them. Triple threat matches usually have a slower pace but tend to speed up towards the end. Four ways are chaotic with guys just going at it. The end of the match had Punk getting "hurt" while being chucked over the top rope and his knee hitting the steps. Hardy hits the twist of fate and swanton on Punk. Magically Punk got up in time to drag Hardy out and then pin Edge. Again Hardy comes close but cant seal the deal. Teddy Long comes out and announces Hardy vs Punk at the Bash. I know they will do a great job at the ppv. But its pretty easy to figure out the WWE will not give Jeff a long title run. Punk will win at the ppv.

No need to breakdown the Tag match between Carlito and Primo vs The Hart Dynasty. All I need to say is Legacy beat down Carlito and Primo to end the match. They face each other at the bash.

Battle Royal for the Number 1 Contendership for the WWE Title. Only 10 men in the match. I was hoping for a swerve here. The only guys I could see winning was Show HHH Cena and thats it. But what if say MVP won? I would have been much more in shock then what actually happened. Again the WWE pushing Big Show on Raw. He threw out MVP and Matt Hardy. Then the other 7 threw Show out. The last 4 were Legacy, HHH and Cena. Wow I didnt see this coming. Cena eliminates Dibiase. HHH eliminates Rhodes. Miz was playing the role of Jerry Lawler tonight. He was hiding under the ring. He tried to attack HHH and Cena but they ducked and out he went. Thanks for nothing Miz. HHH eliminated Cena right after. Ok so we get HHH vs Orton at another ppv. I guess thats not so bad. But wait, Trump makes another big announcement. That match with HHH vs Orton will take place next Monday and will be a last man standing match. I have to say, I like the fact we get this on free tv. I dont like the fact that this will be the 3rd Last man standing match I have seen with these two men. No Mercy ppv in 2007 Orton won the WWE Title beating HHH. HHH successfully defended the WWE title against Orton in 2008 at Extreme Rules, the night Orton broke his collar bone. Now we get to see the same match for the 3rd time! Come on WWE give us at least a new stipulation. I think there is only about 15 other kind of gimmick matches they could have chose from. I guess they want to make sure HHH and Orton face each other in a Last Man Standing match each year. Holy Crap!

At least Im excited to see what the Donald does with his new purchase. I found out Michael Cole is alive and well this week. I also found out that the Raw writers do know a match can go longer than 6 mins. Good job fellas. I hope Raw can keep it up after a pretty entertaining Raw this week. Until next time. You stay classy Laker fans. Thanks for reading.

Greatest Wrestling Entrance

Alright wrestling fans, its time to get into the wrestling question I asked last week. I received a lot of feedback, which you will see further down. This was my first blog where I asked for feedback and I am very happy with the response. I will get to who I believe has the greatest wrestling entrance ever but lets get into what you had to say first.

J-Call,

Hey man been checking out the website. I read your Raw blog and saw you were asking a some what difficult question. I have grown up my entire life in Detroit. I am in my 30s now and I went to Wrestlemania 3. I was a young boy and loved Hulk Hogan. The roar of the crowd when he came out to face Andre was breath taking. The atmosphere was something I cant describe. After that I always loved hearing Real American song. Hogan captured every audience member someway. I would say he has the greatest wrestling entrance of all time. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Pete, Detroit

Thanks Pete. Heres a youtube clip of one of Hogans entrance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwKvFBgvdMI

Dear J Call,

I have always felt the most electrifying entrance was the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, The Rock. He always excited the crowd. His music was definable, IF ya smell. He brought energy and was smoking hott. The Rock was a guy who just made you stand up and cheer. Even as a bad guy, the fans always loved him. I loved the Rock back in the 90's. The Rock goes down as my favorite wrestler and my favorite entrance.

Laura, NY

I cant argue the Rock electrified the crowd. He was one of the greatest ever. Its a true shame he left way to early! Heres one of the best entrances of The Peoples Champ.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RefO3eIRS3s

Hey J Call

I would have to say I have two favorites of all time.

The Undertaker
- As a kid the Undertaker scared the piss out of me. He was dark, unknown and the other wrestlers were terrified by his strange behavior. When the lights dimmed and the bells tolled, the hair on the back of your neck would stands up. Also with an even creepier Paul Bearer, and the power of the Urn there was no entrance like the Undertakers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6BFHhKXm9A

Mr. Perfect
- I am giving Mr. Perfect an honorable mention because he was Perfect! No flash, no flair, just perfect. His entrance music is awesome and it just made you feel perfect. He would only have a white towel around his shoulders when he would come down to the ring and an intercontinental title around his waist. Everyone hated his guts because he was so confident in what he was doing. No matter who he faced he was always, Perfect!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_nXFWUTRHc

Hope this helps,
Terrance

Terrance you are the only one that sent a name in that wasn't in the late 90's. I loved Mr Perfect. I do agree that the Undertaker's entrance is amazing. He plays the best mind games without saying anything in the business, ever.

Hi J-Call,

My name is John Conner and I live in Hurst Texas. My favorite entrance of all time is The Ultimate Warrior. I could not stand the wrestler himself, but the entrance brought instant energy. I thought it pumped the crowd up immediately, and was very energetic. Like I said, I don’t like him as a wrestler, but I always got goose bumps watching him run down the aisle to the ring.

Skip ahead past Triple H's pussy entrance to the Warriors at 2:15.
J-Conn

P.S. I still hate Chris Jericho

Well J-Conn, I need to tell you I received quite a few emails on Y2J. In fact one of my good friends in Iowa sent me an email on why Jericho has the best entrance ever. He wrote and I quote "Because he rules. Because he rules..." He typed that 5 times. Before I get into the final email from the head man of bigbadsportsdaddy.com, Larry Stanley. I want to give an honorable mention. My 2nd favorite entrance ever, drum roll, is Y2J, Chris Jericho. I loved his debut in the then WWF, seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Lw98sEPLkI He had style, charisma, and excitement. The countdown, the pyro, the music, the silhouette, the video, then he shows up with his back to us. His 2nd return was just as cool. Although Jericho has changed his entrance up alittle, the video, music, and pyro is still there. Y2J's entrance is certainly one of a kind. Ok Larry what ya got?

JCall

I wanted to chime in on your blog question. The best single entrance of all time is Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 12. When he was dancing and came in from the rafters the place exploded it was a great moment in WWE history! That's why they still use the highlight all the time. The Best Ring entrance on a regular basis was DX. That video was cool and always pumped you up!

DX entrance is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPv0IaAQLJs&feature=related

Honorable mention to Austin when the Glass shattered it was Ass Kicking time

Larry in Irving TX

Well Larry, you came just that close to getting this answer correct at least in my opinion. The cool thing about this blog was the feedback. I also have to say the NWO had a sweet intro. I got a few text messages giving props to Triple H. The game has a very good intro but its not the best. I loved the fact that most of the feedback was on wrestlers from the Attitude era. The WWF's attitude era was the most exciting era ever in wrestling history. The era was defined by one man, Stone Cold Steve Austin. As I said Y2J's intro was rockstar like. Stone Cold's entrance was no nonsense, straight up in your face, and kick your ass. From the glass shattering, the music, the BMF, bad mother f'r, walk, to JR screaming "Stone Cold, Stone Cold". One of my favorite Austin moments was the night he came out and helped Mankind win his first WWF title over The Rock. All hell broke out with DX and the Corporation ringside. The next thing, the glass breaks and out comes the rattlesnake. He crashes the party and nails Rock with a chair and puts Mankind on top for the 3 count. The title was Mankinds' but the moment was Austins'. I started to youtube the best Austin intro I could find and I believe his return at No Way Out in 2003 was the best ever. I believe JR had a stroke during this entrance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oB_92eJZfZ0 Stone Cold will always have a special place in my heart. The greatest WWE superstar also has the greatest entrance in wrestling history. There will never be a bigger pop in wrestling history like the ones Stone Cold received. Thanks for reading.

Extreme and Raw Blog

Extreme Rules proved to be a great ppv. We saw all 3 world titles change hands. Something that has only happened once on a ppv. I know that stat seems kinda cool, but the first time it happened was two months ago at Backlash. The WWE followed up with a Raw that had some memorable moments and one great return. However, its what the WWE is doing out of the ring that has this writer pissed off.

Lets take a look at the ppv 1st:

The 2 big stories coming off Extreme Rules, Batista won the WWE title over Orton and CM Punk cashed in and beat Hardy for the World Heavyweight title. Il have more on Batista later in the Raw portion. Y2J also won the IC title for the 9th time. Jericho and Rey will have at least another match or two on pay per view. Jericho unmasked Rey and won the belt. Belt vs Mask seems highly likely at the Bash. Also, Tommy Dreamer won the ECW title. Cena made Show tap out, I was in shock. I would say thats pretty much it from Extreme Rules.

What WWE seems to be doing out of the ring is cutting payroll. I guess they felt Umaga, who just had 3 very good TV matches in the last 3 weeks wasnt good enough. WWE released Umaga last night. WHAT? You are gonna keep Goldust on your payroll but a solid performer like Umaga has to go. First Kennedy, now Umaga. I can say I understand Kennedy, but this is simply mind twisting. Umaga has been in a top notch feud with Punk. He had a great match with Morrison 2 weeks ago on Smackdown. I havent heard any reasoning yet. I cant wait to hear it. WWE keep the guys that can perform and get rid of waste of space. To quote Ron Simmons, "DAMN".

Ok time for Raw. Batista starts the program. He won the WWE title Sunday night over Orton in the cage in under 10 mins. He talks about doing it for Flair and all fans sick of Orton. Legacy comes out and lays out Batista. They "break" his left arm. Heres the problem: Batista went over at the ppv even though he has a torn bicep. I guess him winning and then getting taken out doesnt show weakness in the Animal. Randy Orton shined in the first segment. His facial expressions were fantastic. He was ruthless and malice on taking out Batista. Orton deserves the belt, which he takes to end the segment. If you watched any segment of Raw, you saw this. It opened up every damn segment coming back from commercial. I get it, we needed to see Batista getting taken out, but not after every commercial break.

First wrestling match of the night was Kofi vs Regal. Kofi is the US champ and should get at least 10 mins to show why in the ring. Instead he and Regal had 5 or 6 min match. Kofi won. Later on in the night Matt Hardy faced MVP. Those 2 have had to many matches against each other as well. I would have rather seen MVP vs Regal and Kofi vs Matt. I look forward to Hardy being back at a 100%. Hes a solid wrestler. MVP did say something about being in the WWE title hunt. Now that is something I can go for. Giving a guy a mini push into a main event match is somewhat a new concept to Raw. Smackdown seems to develop the talent and then the wrestler gets drafted to Raw where they blow it. MVP is right on the edge right now. I just hope Raw writers dont screw it up.

Diva Title match Kelly Kelly vs Maryse. Not a bad match. Mickie was doing commentary. I hate to sound repeatative but Mickie vs Maryse is a better feud. Why? Because Mickie can wrestle thats why!

The snoozer of the night was a 6 man tag match of Santino Goldust and Festus vs Noble Kendrick and Chavo. The only thing I like about this is Kendrick and Noble could be a legit tag team. They are small but smart wrestlers. I could see potential in them. Of course Santino pins Noble after Hornswoggle distracts Noble. All the kids under 5 were happy.

The semi main event was suppose to be Cena vs Miz... Finally. Miz ran his mouth again before Cena showed up. When the match was about to start, Show came out. I hate to say it again but, I told you so. Show tapped out at Extreme Rules. Cena nailed Miz. Show chokeslammed Cena and then laid him out...again. Miz actually did something tonight. He came back in the ring and hit Show with a few terrible looking chair shots (not Miz's fault) and then hit Cena with a good chair shot before leaving the ring.

Raws' GM Vikki came out. She said earlier in the night she had an announcement that will change the face of the WWE. She was correct. Vikki quit as GM of Raw. Thank God! We also got a great treat of Edge showing up. He made the segment a lot more enjoyable. He made me laugh by mocking "his wife". He finished up demanding a divorce. Way to go Edge. Come out and have the best segment of the night on the mic on a show you are not suppose to be on. Who will be the new GM of Raw? Next weeks 3 hour program will tell us. My guess "the boss" is back. Vince will take over again.

The best wrestling match of the night was Priceless vs Colons. The reason it was the best match is more by default than anything else. They were given time when no one else was. The match was a solid tag team contest. It had an 80s feel to it. The bad guys gain momentum and one bad break to either team could have changed the outcome. Priceless got the break and won the match. They are now #1 contenders for the tag team titles. Ok, something that makes sense. Give Orton the WWE title back and give Priceless the tag titles. Legacy needs a boast right now. If they had all the gold, it only makes the faction look stronger.

The main event of the night was suppose to be The Legend Killer vs Batista. No way Batista could compete because he was taken out earlier in the night. Legacy is in the ring waiting for him to come out. The ref gets up to 9 in the count and stops because he sees an ambulance. No Batista but they never rule the belt to Orton. Instead..THE GAME IS BACK. Triple H comes on camera. Not sure why he came back in an ambulance. Common sense says, when Batista didnt show up after a few seconds, HHH music should have hit instead. If you are gonna return, dont show him on the big titantron first. The impact gets lost. If his music just started, it would have been a bigger suprise for the audience at home and a bigger "pop" by the live audience. Triple H comes out and lays out Rhodes and then Dibiase. He destroys Orton all over the arena. The crowd was into the moment. They screamed for a pedigree. Triple H gave Orton just that to end Raw. A pedigree on a steel chair. At least, the game is back. He brings focus back to Raw. The end of Raw left me with at least some hope that the WWE can turn Raw around because right now Smackdown is kicking their ass.

Two small side notes and I'm done. One, Michael Cole drink a redbull before the show. Holy crap he was dull and boring throughout the telecast. Normally, I dont notice a lack of intensity in his voice but tonight was terrible. Even when Triple H returned, Cole still couldnt get into the whole moment. Im not saying have a heartattack like JR, just get excited about what you are doing.

Lastly, you have a few more days to email me on which wrestler has the greatest wrestling entrance ever. I have still been getting emails from quite a few people. I will be recapping some of the email I receive along with who I believe has the greatest wrestling entrance ever. If you have an opinion, email me at mccall316@yahoo.com. I will be finishing up that blog Wednesday night and you can read it right here on bigbadsportsdaddy.com on Thursday morning. Thanks for reading.

A Night of Extreme Rules

With a nice Raw providing a spark going into the ppv this Sunday. I am back again to preview the one and only night every match on the card has Extreme Rules. I am looking forward to quite a few of these matches. But before I run down the whole card and give you my predictions, I want to show you some of the feedback I have received so far on my question of who has the greatest wrestling entrance ever. If you have an opinion, send me an email to mccall316@yahoo.com. I will personally read them and I will reveal who I believe has the greatest entrance next week. Thank you for those who have already emailed me.

Hey J Call,

I would have to say I have two favorites of all time.

The Undertaker
- As a kid the Undertaker scared the piss out of me. He was dark, unknown and the other wrestlers were terrified by his strange behavior. He would only have a white towel around his shoulders when he would come down to the ring and an intercontinental title around his waist.

I would say he has the greatest wrestling entrance of all time. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Pete, Detroit MI.

I sure appreciate all the emails and keep them coming. You havent hit on my guy yet so Im happy about that. Now lets get into the ppv prediction.

Fatal Four Way US Title
MVP vs Kofi vs Matt Hardy vs Regal
In cased you missed Raw, Kofi and MVP had one of the best matches of the year so far, at least on Raw. Kofi ending up winning the match and now has his first title defense against 3 other competitors. I love this match up. If done correctly, it has great potential. Since Kofi just won the belt, I cant see them giving it back to MVP. The other two, forget it. Kofi deserves the push and will keep his title.

Submission Match
John Cena vs The Big Show
If you read my Judgement Day prediction blog, I could probably just write the same thing. They have made Show look unstoppable, unbeatable, and indestructible. WWE has teased us that Cena cant lock in the STFU. I wonder what will happen on Sunday..? Its just to predictable not to happen. Cena wins via tapout with use of the STFU.

Somoan Strap Match
Umaga vs Punk
Umaga last week on Smackdown had a great back and forth contest with John Morrison. Im very high on Umaga. Hes big, agile, athletic, and can actually speak english now. He beat Punk in his hometown of Chicago at Judgement Day. As much as Umaga has been pushed, its time to move on to another opponent. Im hoping a returning Undertaker Umaga feud. Punk gets the win.

No Holds Barred Match IC Title
Rey Mysterio vs Y2J Chris Jericho
As was the case @ Judgement Day, this could be the best overall match on the card. The build up to this has been Jericho trying to unmask Rey. The 2 have had a great feud. 2 ECW originals, Im talking before WWE bought out Heyman, go at it in a ECW classic. I believe Rey will keep the belt and hold off Jericho from getting his 9th run as IC champ.

Hog Pen Match
Santina vs Vikki
Um... Do you really want me to break this down? Moving on

Hardcore Rules Match ECW Title
Christian vs Swagger vs Dreamer
I hate to say it, wait no I dont. I told you so! I called this in my Judgement Day preview. Dreamer gets 1 more shot at the ECW title. I like all 3 of these guys. Christian is the best wrestler on ECW and deserves to keep the belt. Although, Dreamer deserves a nice send off and get the belt he only held when the original ECW went under. So who will I take in this contest? Neither, Swagger will stop the fairy tale ending and takes the title back from C squared.

Cage Match WWE Title
Randy Orton vs Batista
The twist in this feud has been the return of the Nature Boy. The punt Flair received from Orton on Raw didn't look great but served a purpose. I just dont care for Batista. I love the Legend Killer. This feud has carried Raw since Backlash. I think its time to end it. They have had 2 main events on ppv. Orton will continue to dominate which is ok by me. The best performer in the WWE will keep his WWE title. When will we see HHH?

Ladder Match World Heavyweight Championship
Edge vs Jeff Hardy
If you are not excited for this, stop watching wrestling! The history of these 2 men in ladder matches is more than enough to be excited. WWE has teetered Jeff on this championship line for quite sometime. Edge is the best heel in the company. Im looking forward to this match the most. The ladder match between these two will be insane. Im sure both of them will be innovative and out do one another with the ladder. This is worth buying the pay per view. Will Matt Hardy come out again? Will Punk finally cash in? I dont see either one happening. I said it at Judgement Day, I want Jeff as the champion. I think its time to see it!! Hardy wins and finishes the Rated R Superstar's reign as champion.

Thanks for reading,

Raw Blog 6-1

The Raw before a pay per view is suppose to get you so excited that you will fork over 40 bucks to watch it. I have to say after Raw monday night, I might be doing just that. Raw was fun, exciting, and actually had a good wrestling match. Although not everything was glamorous, WWE finally put on a show worth watching.

I just want to say before I talk about Raw. I was absolutely shocked that the WWE released Kennedy. I read about it on Friday. Mr Kennedy has a crap load of potential but never reached it. He was pushed twice. First time, he won MITB, money in the bank back at mania 23. He got injuried and lost the briefcase to Edge. Second time he was to be McMahon's son. Instead he tested positive for a banned substance. Im saddened by the fact he is gone. Kennedy made last weeks Raw enjoyable. His return helped the show. I dont think we have seen the last of MRRR. KENNEDY!

Alright, now that I have that out of the way, lets get to Raw. Raw started with Legacy in the ring with a cage around it. Raw has been pushing the hell out of Orton and Batista. We find out Rhodes and Batista will square off in a cage match TONIGHT. WOOO, Flair interupts. He challenges Orton to a parking lot brawl. Im in for that. This hasnt been the problem for Raw. The main event has been great. The Batista Orton feud has been solid. Lets hope the rest of Raw can keep the momentum. The Batista Rhodes cage match starts right after the Flair Orton promo. Batista wins adding fuel to the fire for the main event.

Again Raw tries to show off some Diva action. Been saying it for weeks, please give me a Beth Phoenix Mickie James Maryse match for the Diva Champ. Maryse wins the tag match over Kelly Kelly and Mickie. Decent contest. The momentum starts to go down alittle in the following tag match. Matt Hardy and Regal vs the Colons. I dont understand why you would throw 2 men who just wrestled each other last week as tag partners. The Colons win again. Primo and Carlito need a damn feud!!! They also should be on Raw and Superstars each week. We dont see the last of Hardy and Regal. They ask Vikki for a rematch by helping her beat Santino tonight. Hardy and Regal help Vikki out later on. They take out Santino and Vikki pours slop on him. I missed most of this because I went and got my supper. Ya thats how entertained I was during the segment.

Yet another tag match tonight. Cena and Chavo, who won a drawing to pick Cenas partner, vs Miz and Show. Miz comes out again with a mic in hand. He talks before we go to break. Miz can hold his own on the mic, but enough already. We come back from break and Cena is coming out. Crowd was into him which is always a good sign. The match itself was actually very good. Miz and Show dominate early. Cena on the attack. Show chokeslammed Cena and Miz tagged himself in. Show layed him out as well. Chavo tagged in and won the match. Cena fu'd Chavo. Show knocked out Cena with a punch. Show then choked out Cena. Ok, Show is dominate again the week before a ppv. The same thing happened the week before Judgement Day. Cena hasn't locked in the stfu, so at the ppv what will Cena do....?

A ppv quality match occured on Raw. The show picked back up with a backstage interview with Kofi and MVP, a nice setup before the match. The match itself, AWESOME! Back and forth contest. Kofi has such a unique style of offense. MVP hit a sick kick on Kofi towards the end. Quite a few near falls as well before Kofi picked up a suprising win and became the NEW US CHAMP. A great headline from Raw. I hope they have a rematch.

The main event wasnt a match but a straight up fight. Orton was shown looking for Flair. Flair struck first. These 2 used the arena well. Flair got some good shots in. They ended up ringside. Flair had the advantage. He placed Orton on the announcers table and gave Orton a straight kick to the nuts. It was very funny. Figure 4 on the table. Things went down hill from there for Flair. Legacy came out and nailed Flair. The cage was lowered, Rhodes and Teddy got Flair into the cage. They beat him up for a while until Orton stepped in. He ordered Legacy out and lock the door. Batista came out alittle to late. Well it was because the animal must be afraid of heights. Legacy locked the door and Batista tried to break the door down. Uh, CLIMB THE DAMN CAGE!!! Flair received an RKO and a punt for his trouble. Is he gonna be gone now? I thought it was awesome the crowd had a TRIPLE H chant and not a Batista chant. You read that correctly. The crowd wanted Triple H more than the man who has been pushed to the top the last few weeks on Raw. Thank you WWE universe!! Ive been saying that since the night after Backlash.

Ok if you missed out I need your feedback. I asked for you to email me your favorite wrestler entrance ever. Ive actually received a few already. I want everyone to email me at mccall316@yahoo.com. I will be posting a night of extreme rules preview with my predictions later in the week. I will put a few emails into that. Next week I will post a full blog on which wrestler has the greatest wrestling entrance ever. As always, thanks for reading.
